It’s a very quiet campsite where we had been the year before and for us it was known as the campsite with the terrific toilet seats.
We stayed for more than a week and that was too long. We saw too many problems too many times. At times there was no warm water, or no water at all or no electricity. Instead of apologising the new manager kept explaining what was the problem. At last I got irritated with him which was not easy because he was really a very nice man.
Though I understand it's very difficult to satisfy all customers, I think the management could be better. Why not change the floppy toilet seats that were loosening all the time. And a few hooks for your towel would be fine.
The good thing was the cleaning. It seems the toilets and washbasins were looked after continually cause they we always very clean.
After paying the bill the calculation was wrong when I checked it later. Of course this can happen, everybody makes mistakes. But I think it was not necessary to let me wait 10 minutes because of failed attempts of refunding by giro. Besides the charged price was different from that what was listed on the website.

First of all the campsite is under new ownership this year. Sean and his partner are very friendly and helpful. The site is quite small, approx 20 pitches most of which have water, electric and waste water disposal. There are some statics (under 10).
The site is gently sloping and surrounded by trees, pitches are separated by laurel hedging and have some shade at the rear. There is a small pool and sun area with sunbeds and tables and chairs with a cafe/bar and food in main season. The facilities (toilets showers etc) are very good and extremely clean with hand wash facilities and drying paper towels.
Other facilities include washing machine and dryer (tokens), fridge and a selection of books to borrow/trade.
There are plans to make the pitches more level in the near future.
The site is accessible from the N10 exit Mansle and follow St Angeau. The final approach is quite narrow but only for 250 metres and there are places where passing is possible within that distance plus the lane has very little traffic.
Our first visit but we would definitely use it again.

Very warm welcome from the owners. The site is in a beautiful location with great walks surrounding. The campsite is immaculate throughout from the maintenance of the grass to the new shower and toilet block. There is a newly renovated bar and a superb sunny patio and decking surrounding. A great little find on my way back from Spain just wish I could stay longer.

We used this site for a stopover on our way down to the South. Arriving on the Caen ferry at 4pm, we were at site by 9pm, and we were given the hard standing pitch right by the entrance, as we were leaving a 4am the following morning and didn't want to disturb anyone. We stayed hooked up which was perfect.
This is a lovely site, and we would love to visit again and stay longer next time !

We have just returned home after 2 lovely weeks at Camping Devezeau. Debbie and Chris are very welcoming and make you feel instantly comfortable. They appear very proud of their site, and so they should be they have a lovely campsite. The site is beautifully maintained, the pitches are large enough for your camper plus we had a large awning. There are tables and chairs situated under the shady trees that can be used by all at anytime. Each pitch is sectioned off with a hedge which gives you your own space and also provides shade from the hot sun. The toilets and showers are spotless and are very clean and modern. There is a washer and drier in the washing up area plus free use of a clothes airer, that area is also spotlessly clean. The pool is very well maintained and it is a lovely area to sit and generally is a very quiet area. You can buy hot and cold drinks and ice cream at the pool and there is a cafe ' Betty Boops' serving meals. The menu is not extensive but we had two lovely evening meals and also a breakfast which was very good. The site was perfect for us and we really enjoyed our two week stay. It seems to be used a lot as a transitional site by most staying only one or two nights. Locally there is only one bakery and a tabac/bar which is approx 2. 5 miles away, nice walk but you really need transport to get to the supermarkets which are about 10km away. If you are wanting a quiet peaceful site, is is brilliant. We were a little disappointed that there was no actual cycle paths but it was only my lack of confidence in riding my bike on the road that prevented us cycling each day. For somebody who Is confident on the road there are some lovely cycle routes of varying length, leaflets available in reception. The site could possibly benefit from a little shop that sold very basic provisions. Plenty of places to visit locally, perfect holiday, was sad to come home.

An absolutely stunningly clean and well maintained site - ran by a British couple Chris and Debs, who really cannot do enough for you!
All the facilities are cleaned daily to a very high standard, including the campsite table and chair sets and the solar lights!
The gardens and shrub/campsite areas are watered and maintained to a high standard - attention to detail is given.
The outside swimming pool is heaven on a hot day and the Betty Boo cafe serves breakfasts and evening meals should you require them.
We found this campsite by doing a google search and boy what a find!
In May this year (2016) we came out to Camping Devezeau with our touring caravan, stayed a week and left our caravan here (prearranged - to leave it, store it here and subsequently holiday here).
We have now been here since July 17th, returning a second time, and go home to England on August 18th. It has been bliss! I have never rested so much whilst on holiday.
The site feels safe and secure and is suitable for a lone traveler, a couple or a family. We also have a dog and she has been made very welcome too!
You really will not be disappointed by this site. It is close to St Angeau (walking distance) with its Boulangerie and Tabac and is well placed for exploring the area of Charente.
Very highly recommended!
Karen, Jim and Misty the cocker spaniel!

Stayed four nights for the second year running, however due to the early season the pool has never been available. Debbie greeted us and was friendly and helpful during our stay. The toilet and shower block were clean and modern and there was also a small cafe/bar which sold snacks. They were good sized pitches and although the water was in the middle of the site for everyone to use, the owners were in the throes of modernising the water and electrics so each pitch will have their own supplies.
We had our two dogs with us but there didn't appear to be anywhere to walk them off lead.
The local village had a tabac and boulangerie but the village itself looked fairly run down so any grocery shopping was about 12 km away.

A quick overnighter for us here, but what a perfect stopover this was!
Arrived mid afternoon in sun so could use the pool and outside having a beer or two, before having some excellent evening food outside again all served and prepared by the hard working Chris and Debs who are wonderful site hosts. We then plied ourselves with a fine English breakfast next morning before departing!
Pitches decent size, slight slope. Good easy access to Elsan and grey water disposal and central tap for water, with enough showers and toilets (clean) make this a very easy site to use and stay at be it for an overnight or more extended stay.

What a delight! We came here in order to visit Oradour sur Glane (a real must!) and because it was described as quiet and peaceful. It certainly is, being a small site about 1km from the nearest village. It is a great place to relax and unwind.
We were met with a very friendly welcome from the new owners - Debs and Chris. This continued throughout our stay. They could not do enough to help (even bringing washing back from the shower block to the caravan).
The shower block is new and spotless as is the terrace and pool area and the cafe. The cafe serves good food at very inexpensive prices. We were hooked on a daily English breakfast in the sun, by the pool, with a level of service you would expect from a 4 star hotel. What a way to start the day.
The pitches are of varying size around the perimeter of the field, and in the centre is a shaded area open to all with picnic tables and chairs, giving a feel of spaciousness to the camping experience.
The site is close to Angouleme and an easy drive to Cognac. The gem of the area is Verteuil, a beautiful rivrside town.
The main plus point for this site? Debs and Chris themselves. They create a warm sociable atmosphere amongst all the campers. We came as strangers and left as friends.
Will we go again? You bet!
