A nicely kept site, the toilet and shower blocks are cleaned regulary and there was no signs of litter anywhere.

Staff were helpful and although we do not have a dog there is a field just for them!

We only stayed one night but will definitely return

The walks to the beach and shops are pleasant and everything is at hand, plenty of places to eat, a lovely location

A very pleasant site - shower was always hot, loo block was cleaned regularly (twice daily, I think). Safe and friendly for children. Beautiful views. There is a well-stocked little shop at the edge of the site, serving warm croissants and pains au chocolat in the morning - however, it does not open as early as we had anticipated and the queues are often long.

However, we pitched our tent next to the clifftop and spent two (of six nights in total) sleepless nights buffeted by gale force winds. On the second occasion, every one of our poles was splintered. We returned home a day early!

If you have a tunnel tent (and ours was a decent Vango 800), I'd advise pitching as far away from the coast path as possible, preferably behind a hedge. Storm pegs are advisable when pitching as we found the ground to be very soft - when the wind got up, pegs were flying.

Best site in the best of areas.

The site is well run, has fantastic facilities and wonderful views.

We have been using this site at St. Davids now for more years than I can remember and will always return at least once a year.

The only thing against it is that it gets very full during holiday times but if like us you travel mostly when the children are in school you will find a delightfully quiet site within easy access of the town and the coast path.

We stayed here for three nights and experienced every possible type of weather (apart from snow!). The site is set in a glorious location on the cliff tops overlooking St Brides Bay. When it is windy, it is very windy, so bear this in mind when staying here. Other than that we could not praise the site enough. It is no more than ten minute's walk into the centre of St David's. From there, bus fares are £1 return to anywhere! Even better, £2 buys a daily 'hop-on hop-off' ticket.

St David's is a really nice town (sorry, very small City) with four award winning restaurants. We visited two of them, Cwtch and Morgan's, and would recommend them both. Neither was cheap, but the quality of the food was excellent. We will try the other two the next time we visit.

This was our second visit to Caerfai and, even though it was half term, the site was nice and quiet. The pitches are quite large and so even on busier weeks I’d imagine there would be plenty of space. The pitches are reasonably flat and grassy too, considering the farm animals graze them in the months when the site is closed to the public.

It’s a really relaxed site and you’ll not find lots of notices around the place telling you what you can, or can’t, do but at 10:00pm everyone calms down and you can’t hear a sound.

We took our three young children and our dog with us on this occasion and we found plenty to do without getting in the car. The views from the coastal walks are brilliant and the beautiful sandy cove was great for the kids.

You could walk into St. Davids and there seems to be plenty of eating places and interesting looking pubs. But if that’s too far there’s a family (and dog) friendly pub five minutes up the road, which has a deck with sea views.

The site has lots of environmentally friendly features. There’s solar panels on the shower block roof and a large wind turbine which helps to power the farm, as well as the camp site. I’m told that methane from the cows is also used to heat some buildings. The farm shop is open until 7:00pm and sells delicious organic cheese, stunning locally made cakes as well as a good selection bread, eggs etc.

If the weather is good, this must be one of the best family campsites we have visited.

It is situated on cliffs overlooking Caerfai bay, which is a 5 min walk down a narrow footpath. Caerfai Bay itself is a perfect beach when the tide is out. Damp sand which is ideal for making sandcastles, and rockpools and caves to explore. The Pembrokeshire coastal path passes right by.

Tents (and motorhomes, but no caravans) are all situated around the edge of the field leaving lots of space in the middle for games of rounders, cricket, football etc. There are some hookups, and there were standpipes all around the edge of the field.

There is a farm shop selling home-made cheese and basics, accessible by a grassy track from the campsite. This meant that our 5 and 8 yr olds could go and buy fresh croissants by themselves every morning.

The toilet/shower block has 3 individual showers, a shower in each of the ladies / gents plus two family rooms each with shower, sink, wc and hairdryer. Perfect if you need to clean up two muddy children. The showers are all free, but the water is heated through ground source and solar panels, so the temp is variable. We neither had to queue nor get cold showers despite it being bank holiday. Showers / sinks / wcs seemed clean but the floor gets a bit grassy, so take your flipflops.

There is a washing up room with 5 sinks attached to the shower block, and across the road from the shop there is a mini laundry with a couple of washing machines, a spin dryer and a tumble dryer. I didn't use them in the end, but I think the washers take 2 x £1 coins, and the dryer 20ps. I think I saw an iron and ironing board too.

The farm does not take cards, so you need to remember to take your cheque book or enough cash.

St Davids has a lovely deli, fish and chip shop and lots of cafes, as does Solva a few mins drive away. If it rains (like it did for us!) there are bowling alleys / cinemas in Milford Haven and I think in Haverfordwest too.

The only downsides are that, being on a clifftop, it can get VERY windy, and that in Wales you can be unlucky with the rain. Having said that we want to go back again, but in the summer this time!

Absolutely wonderful! Perfect location 10 minute walk down to the beach, and an easy walk into St. Davids. Camp shop which is reasonably priced and each pitch has plenty of room. The showers are okay too but they could be better and sometimes there is a queue. Will be returning next year, but I advise to book in advance my friend tried to book in May for August and they were full booked for the whole month!

I have stayed on this campsite several times in the last few years. The toilet facilities are excellent and the pitch sizes good. There is a lovely beach (which is huge at low tide) just a short walk down a hill. The views are stunning. The centre of the fields are kept empty, which is great for kite flying. If your not into having little kids running around - go in term time - its very quite and has a completely different atmosphere.

Nice location - 60 seconds from beach, view of Irish sea. 5 minutes from St. Davids town centre, on foot.

Cheap consistent prices, average bathroom block with all facilities.

Right next to coastal path.

On site small shop not open all day though.

We visited this site at the end of August 2006. In previous years we have used the site on the opposite side of the lane - both have stunning views and are very close to the coastal path.

The weather was against us this year and the site we were allocated was right at the edge of the coastal path and therefore facing the sea and cliff edge - which was great when we arrived in blazing sunshine and blue skies, but not so good when the weather turned a few days later and the wind coming off the sea tested our tent to the limits. Other tents further into the field and in the other field behind seemed to have more shelter. So our advice is to think about the weather conditions when you pitch this tent - unlike us!

Some sloping pitches but nothing too bad, great shop on site, adequate but limited toilet and shower facilities (tho must have struggled on bank holiday weekend) Great area with lots to do, and we will go back.
