We have only recently discovered this site.

What have we been missing all these years ??

Its a lovely spot, quiet and very relaxing, even had sheep on the approach road to site. Only a short drive to some stunning scenery and places such as Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Yorks Moors railway etc, a weekend really isn't long enough.

We found the wardens very friendly and helpful and the 40th birthday do for the site was great.

No toilet block but that's reflected in the bargain price.

This is fast becoming our favourite spot now and looking forward to returning for 3 nights in July.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful 2 week stay at this site near whitby. There are no toilets or showers but they have all the relevant service points for your own sanitation. The site is surrounded by trees which provides protection from the wind as this site is literally on the moor. The site is very peaceful and tranquil, we put bird feeders up and were visited by families of blue tits, great tits cole tits robins and chaffinches, we even had a greater spotted woodpecker and of course numerous squirrels who tried in vain to run off with the feeder!
There were a lot of dogs on the site and some were quite noisy, one night we heard howling until midnight but it only happened the once.
A fish and chip van visits the site on a friday evening and judging by the queues, they must have been quite good, smelled nice anyway. A car is definately required as nearest shop at least a couple of miles away, wardens sell eggs milk and newspapers.
There is a lovely lane straight outside the gate which you can either walk or drive to may beck a lovely little picnic spot. On site is a boules pitch and crazygolf, a perfect place to relax in.

This is a second home to us, having stayed on this site many times. We love everything about it, the seclusion, the wardens and the entire area.

There is no shower block, so you do need your own facilites. That said, the price reflects this fact which suits us fine.

During wet weather, only hard standing pitches are used. We just wish the site was open all year!

Whitby is a magical town and the fish and chips are superb!

We stayed here October half-term. It is a lovely Site, surrounded by trees with the pitches seperated out into small blocks about the Site.

At the time we stayed they were only siting caravans on hard standing to keep the grass from being churned up - bit of a problem with the awning, but they sell rock pegs in the reception for 60p each. They also sell milk, bread, eggs, toilet fuilds, bird seed and I think papers.

Dont let the lack of a toilet block put you of, the Site is level, quite and VERY peacefull. Not the best views from most of the pitches due to the woods, but if you like bird song in the morning waking up here will be a plesure. Plenty of waste bins, water taps etc dotted about and a mini Tourist Information Shed by the entrance.

Overall great Site, tidy, clean, helpful wardens. Great base for Whitby, Scarborough and 'Heartbeat' country.

We haven't visited this site before as it hasn't got a toilet block and our van is knocking on and her shower isn't very good. We were due to arrive on Friday 29th June. This was the weekend after Yorkshire flooded, and we were undecided if we should go or not.I'm so glad we did!
The drive up to the entrance was lovely in itself, watch out for sheep in the road. The wardens are cheerful and helpful. We decided on a pitch that was next to the mini golf, and what a view we got.we didn't pull the blinds down on a night as it was glorious to wake up to a view like that on a morning.
The mini golf is another massive plus if you have children, (or like us you never quite grow up!) Its 50p hire for a club and a golf ball, we, (2 adults and 2 kids aged 15 and 9,) had a tournament, and it was the best couple of pounds we've spent in a long time!
Whitby is about 4 or 5 miles away and Robin Hoods Bay is under 4 miles. We love it at the bay, go at low tide and turn left on the beach.fossils for everyone!
A wonderful site that should be visited by everyone at least once.DON'T BE PUT OFF BY THE LACK OF A TOILET BLOCK - IT MAKES UP FOR IT AND SOME !
It won't be long before we return.

This is a Caravan Club site however it does not have any facilities which we don't mind at all. It has 2 things I haven't seen on a CC site before these were a Boule Pit and a 9 hole crazy golf course.

The site itself is very pleasant and not at all regimented with pitches dotted around in small areas or a large grassy area.
It is a slightly remote site and you would need a car to visit the shops etc.  The wardens do sell bits and pieces ie milk etc but the reception hours seem to be morning and late afternoon.
There was a board that states a chip van visits the site but it wasn't the night we stayed.

Whitby is a short drive away with plenty to see and lots of chip shops if you are hungry.  We had a trip on the steam bus which was great fun.

The Wardens were very friendly. A good place to visit for a relaxing time, but if in a camper van and you don't want to drive you would need to be organised.
