This is the 3rd time we have visited Grange Leisure Park this year and can only re-iterate the comments we've made previously - we love it here.
This site is perfect for the fishing type and for the family that want a quiet, relaxing break.
We decided more or less at the last minute to go away for the Bank-Holiday weekend. We tried to book on line but were told there was no availability. After ringing around practically every half decent site in the Mablethorpe, Sutton, Ingoldmells area we were losing hope but on the off chance I gave Grange a ring. We were told that they were fully booked but may have a cancellation. They assured me they would call me back the following day (by lunch) to let me know if they could squeeze us in or not. True to their word they called to say they could fit us in on the overflow field. I don't think I'll bother with the on line search next time, I'll just give them a call as it does seem that nothing is too much trouble. The additional bonus was it only cost us £54 for the three nights - bargain.
Well what can I say about the overflow field apart from it's stunning, lovely. The pitches here aren't hard standing but they all have electric and the most important things - peace and tranquillity and an absolutely stunning view over the private members fishing lake.
According to the chap at reception, anyone who's been put on the overflow pitches requests to book them again but because they are the overflow they can't be allocated unless the other pitches are full. This is a real shame as he was right, we would definitely request one of these pitches again, for the view alone.
Facilities:
There are six well stocked fishing lakes which will cost you £4. 00 for a day ticket to fish with several several varieties of fish in each. You can fish the private members lake if you become a member at a cost £100 per annum. As we were only there for the weekend my Hubby didn't join this time but watching the chap opposite our van pull quite sizeable Carp out all day long did make him a little green with envy.
There is a small bar on site (Badgers Barn) that opens at 7pm. It offers very reasonably priced drinks, £2. 00 for a pint of lager, which in our opinion is very good value considering what you would pay at the larger sites.
At the weekend they serve food such as Chilli Con Carne, Steak, Chicken Nuggets, all served with rice / chips / salad and again very reasonably priced at £5. 00 per meal. We have sampled the food previously and were very impressed (home cooked, tasty, warm and plenty of it). Unfortunately we didn't get the chance this time as they stop serving at 8pm which is a little early in our opinion and especially as it was the Bank Holiday weekend.
There is a pool table and darts board, Bingo and entertainment on a Saturday but basically that's about it. Don't stay here if you are expecting Butlins style evening entertainment every night as you won't get it but if you enjoy a good value drink in relaxing surroundings then this is the place for you. The bar staff are very friendly and welcoming, as are all staff we've encountered.
As we were in the overflow field we discovered that there were additional toilets and showers behind Badgers Barn. Basically they are situated in two large containers (the kind you get on large shipping vessels). The showers and loos here are a bit better than the ones in the main touring field but there never seemed to be any loo roll no matter what time you visited. Not problem though, just take a roll with you.
As before the reception area doubles up as a small basic tackle shop selling floats, maggots etc and the bare necessities (milk, eggs) and you can pre-order a paper. Again the reception staff are lovely and really helpful. If you need any of the big fishing stuff there is a large fishing shop on the main strip at Ingoldmells (Fantasy Island).
In our opinion the staff at Grange Leisure Park are top notch. Each and every person who works at this site that we have come into contact with is friendly, helpful and courteous. Perhaps this is because the site is geared towards the more mature market and is also largely a residential site. Nevertheless it's a pleasure to visit when you are treated nicely.
It's also notable how nice the guests are too. Most people (if not all) seem to come for the fishing so you do get a more relaxed guest who isn't into the rowdy bad behaviour you can get at the likes of Butlins/Haven. One one of the days my husband realised he'd lost his mobile phone when an honest chap who found it called us to say he had it and would bring it to reception for us to collect. He wouldn't accept any reward for his honesty eve nthough we offered several times. We'd hazard a guess we wouldn't have seen it again had this happened anywhere else.
Also as we were leaving we had trouble with the electrics in our car. Not a problem though as the chap on the next pitch had his services (as he was an engineer) kindly volunteered by his wife. He couldn't have been more helpful and it was such a relief to know what was wrong and how to fix it. Again the friendly, family atmosphere, where everyone seems to muck in and is more than willing to help a fellow holidaymaker in need is what makes this place special.
As I've said previously this site is quiet and there's nothing much for kids to do apart from fish, play football and ride a bike but if you love a trouble free relaxing break Grange Leisure Park is just perfect. We will definitely be back.

We have just returned from our second camping trip to Grange Leisure and again were not disappointed.
My husband and I were avid campers until 2008 when he suffered a massive stroke and was left with quite significant disabilities. We decided back in 2010 to give camping a go and after buying a suitable tent, began our search for a suitable site. We have spent many happy holidays in and around Mablethorpe and know the area well, so we chose this area.
We needed a site that was level; had disabled facilities; was not too large; relatively quiet and within easy reach of the town centre. Grange Leisure Park ticked all our boxes! The camping area is level- perfect for wheelchair users.
There are facilities specifically for the disabled with ramp access; the toilet and shower are in one complete wet room with a fitted seat for the shower and ample room for the disabled person and carer! All the facilities are spotless.
There is a laundry room with washer and dryer and washing up facilities. Although the whole site is quite large, the camping area is small, secluded and quiet.
You are a five minute drive from the town centre for all your shopping needs; amusement arcades; beach; pubs; restaurants etc. Etc. Etc.
The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. All in all, I would ( and have ) recommended this site to friends and family.
This year`s trip consisted of 11 of us from the age of 18 months to 61 years and none were disappointed. Although there is no nominated children's` play area or park, we found we did not need one as there is plenty of space for the younger ones to play.

Just got back from spending 3 days on this lovely well looked after site. Toilets and showers were absolutely spotless.
We fished the horseshoe lake and found it slow and hard work, although there are other lakes on the site.
There didn't seem to be any facilities for children but as we didn't have any with us it wasn't an issue.
We were about one mile away from mablethorpe where there is a lidl and co op supermarket, and a short drive to skegness.
Would definitely stay again.

I booked this site mainly for fishing.
The fishing lakes are well cared for in a lovely setting, The pitches are flat with electric and are set away from the caravans, there is a shop for basics on site and a bar.
The shop is basically a tackle shop so you need to leave the site for provisions. The bar only serves food fridays and sundays I was told.
The toilets and showers need updating due to lack of privacy in the showers as its just a curtain. The drinking water pipe is in the next tourer section with the toilets.
Washing facilities for pots/clothes are open 9am to 4pm otherwise locked, therefore you need more water from the pipe in the next section to wash pots after breakfast/tea.
As the tents were mostly large the space between them for cars was limited. But the fishing was great the sun shone and the people were friendly and the price was good.
The site is undergoing reconstruction for a golf course and hopefully new facilities. I wouldn't recommend it for children as there isn't a play area, just a pool table.
There is also a lot of road noise day and night, the tents are next to the main road.

This was our first family camping holiday and we choose this site from its reviews and I must say it does not disappoint.
The pitch site was large and there was only us and another two smaller tents on the tent site. It accommodated our very large tent comfortably. The tent site is situated behind a grass verge and you cannot see the caravans from where you are so it gave you a very private feel.
Even though it had been raining on and off for weeks the ground was only damp with only one puddle patch away from the tents.
The on site pub served reasonably priced food with good size portions. The food was pub grub curries, burgers, fish, steak. We had the burgers and they were very tasty. Pints were only £2 which is great when your on a budget. There was also live entertainment and bingo a pool table and darts board.
The toilets were very clean and tidy and always had the toilet roll stocked up. There was also constant hot water. I didn't use the shower as we were only there a couple of days so cannot comment on that but from what I saw it looked clean as well.
The site had a washing machine and dryer which was extremely useful as my kids have travel sickness and I needed to wash their clothes and they kindly kept it open after it was due to close so I could wash and dry them.
I think the site could benefit from a small child play area but it is not essential as there was enough space for the kids to kick a ball around.
This seemed like a quiet site which had a lot of older residents but if you like that with more of a homely feel then this is perfect and was perfect for us as we are not keen on the 'Butlins' experience.
The staff were very kind and very helpful.
I definitely recommend this site and we will definitely be coming again hopefully this year.

We have a touring caravan on a seasonal pitch here. We like it because it is much quieter than other sites and very picturesque. We have dogs and the site is very friendly to animals but strict, which we respect and approve of. There are beautiful walks everywhere for people and dogs alike. The site is very clean and well cared for.
It is true that the shop and bar/café are limited but there are main new changes coming to the park with an improvement in leisure facilities and play areas for kids plus new tourer pitches and showers/toilets. We went down to set up our van last weekend (6th April) and the kids park, all weather basketball area and toilet blocks were close to completion. Can't wait! My partner and son play on the new golf course and said it was ok for a holiday 9 hole course though the one at the Willows next along is better. They think it will be better this year now it has had time to settle a little.
Very friendly and helpful staff and nice residents who always say hello and will stop and chat. About a mile into Mablethorpe and about 1/2 hr drive to Skegness. You will need a car if you stay here as public transport from the park is limited. Although, I believe this is also in line for change with the new works.
Unless there are some drastic changes for the worse I think we will be staying here for the foreseeable future.

This is the 2nd time we have visited Grange Leisure Park (previously April 2012) and we love it here.
There are three of us in our party (2 Adults and 1 Child) and we all agree that this site is perfect for the fishing type and for the family that want a quiet, relaxing break.
We use the hard standing pitches and are impressed with the space each provides. There is plenty of space for our 22ft van, awning and car. The pitch price includes the van, awning, water and electric and is very reasonably priced. We paid £127 for a weeks stay during the Spring half term break and noticed that, unlike other sites, Grange Leisure Park don't put up the prices just because it's the school holidays. The price you pay is the price you would pay at any time of the year.
Facilities:
There are several well stocked fishing lakes which will cost you £4.0 for a day ticket or £27.00 for the week (adult charge). From what my husband tells me there are several varieties of fish in the lake. On both visits here my husband caught plenty of fish to keep him happy. According to what my husband was told some lakes offer bigger fish than others and the best people to speak to about where to fish (depending on what you are fishing for) are the residents that live in the statics on site.
There is a small bar on site that opens at 7pm which offers very reasonably priced drinks. It costs £2.00 for a pint of lager which in our opinion is very good value considering what you would pay at the larger sites.
At the weekend they do food such as Chilli Con Carne, Steak, Chicken Nuggets, all served with rice/chips/salad and again very reasonably priced at £5. 00 per meal. We have sampled the food and were very impressed (home cooked, tasty, warm and plenty of it).
There is a pool table and darts board but basically that's about it. Don't stay here if you are expecting Butlins style evening entertainment as you won't get it but if you enjoy a good value drink in relaxing surroundings then this is the place for you. The bar staff are very friendly and welcoming, as are all staff we've encountered.
The toilets and shower blocks could do with a bit of updating (4 loo's in the ladies and mens and two showers per ladies and mens) as they are very basic but there is always loo roll and hot water and they are cleaned regularly.
The reception area doubles up as a small basic tackle shop selling floats, maggots etc and the bare necessities (milk, eggs) and you can pre-order a paper. If you need any of the big fishing stuff there is a large fishing shop on the main strip at Ingoldmells (Fantasy Island).
Staff:
In our opinion the staff are top notch. As we said earlier the bar/kitchen staff are friendly and welcoming, chatty and smiley but all in all we have to say that we felt that all the staff couldn't do enough for you. On our second day our car wouldn't start and the groundsman pulled up to ask if we needed any help. Fortunately we managed to get the car going but on the second day the battery completely died. We went to reception to ask if someone could give us a jump-start and within 10 minutes the groundsman was back with his tractor and jump leads. He got us started and directed us to Louth where we managed to find a shop that sold car batteries which was amazing considering it was the Bank Holiday. All in all we were really impressed and very thankful to the staff at Grange Leisure Park for helping us out.
Nearby:
Mablethorpe is about a 5 minute drive down a straight road with the basic facilities you would need. We did our food shop when we had pitched up in the Lidl and Co-Op that is on the main strip.
Anyone that knows the area will know that Chapel St Leonards, Ingoldmells and Skegness are just down the road for days out so we think this site is just perfect for travelling out for the day if you want something to do apart from fishing.
As I said before this site is quiet and nothing like the Butlins/Haven sites (ie there's nothing for kids to do apart from fish, play football and ride a bike) but we think it is just perfect for what we want. All in all we love at Grange Leisure Park and will return again.

All I can say is wow! The only downside is we had to use our car everywhere. Toilets brill, view brill, and the Sunday carvery was fantastic and cheap too! If you like fishing its a great place, we don't but its so tranquil it really doesn't matter! This was our first time with our tourer and a memorable one. Hard standing pitch so the awning was interesting to get up!

We have just come back from a weekend at this site & we are very impressed. We used a tent but some of our party had touring caravans & 1 had a static.
Pitches were very flat & very large which is always good. Dogs welcome as well. There is a nice area to play ball games away from the tents which is well cut & very tidy.
The only let down for our party of 22 was the distance from the pitches to the toilets & the fact there is only 2 male & 2 female showers.
Other than that we had a BRILLIANT time

We visited this site last week, It is a very well laid out site, nice pitches near the lake, good bar with nice food, fishing very good with a selection of lakes to chose from.
On the down side, the toilets and showers were of very poor standard, they could do with a complete refurbishment as the site is now owned by a large group I would hope this is on their improvement list,
If and when the improve these facilities I will return, if not I will look elsewhere, its a shame but this really lets it down
