Stayed while motorcycling around France / Spain / Portugal. Used a good sized 2 man tent. Nice campsite. Pitches not 100% level, but not enough of a slope to be a problem.
Toilets / showers clean and in good order. Very cheap at about 8.00 euros for the night. Easy walking distance into the centre of the village and the beach, with shops and restaurants to hand. Electric hookups available for those that need them.
Surprisingly quiet for a campsite almost in the middle of a town. Would stay there again if I was in the area.

After reading the reviews I stayed there 3 nights in July. Went with a motorbike and tent. Site was very good. Toilets were cleaned about 3 times a day and were very good. You were given a shower token for each day but you could have more if you needed them. Showers were very good but my only criticism was that there was very little space to get dry outside of the shower basin. Very close to Arromanches (5 mins walk). Quite a few bars and restaraunts there. There is a small supermarket just before you get into the town but there are also larger ones a few km away. Very well sited for the D'Day beaches. Not dear at all. A van comes round about 8:30-09:00 tooting its horn selling bakery stuff but there is a full Patisserie again about 5 mins walk into town. I will be going back.

We stayed on this site for three nights but could easily have stayed for longer. The price includes a token per person per day for the showers and my wife informs me that they were of a reasonable standard- I use the caravan shower myself. There is a steep slope at the entrance/exit- I got my wife to stand across the road and signal when there was a break in the traffic so that I could get a bit of speed up and didn’t burn out my clutch. It was a shame that a site so close to the sea didn’t have a sea view, or it would have been very nearly perfect. There are three toilet blocks on site although only the one closest to the reception has a chemical disposal point. The grey waste point is the grid underneath the water tap. A pedestrian entrance at the bottom end of the site gives best access to the village and also the basketball / football and boules pitches. The village is very close by with plenty of take-aways and restaurants. There is also a very good mini-golf course close by that is open until late and is very popular. The car park adjacent to the site also has free pitches for campervans, although they rarely had free spaces. The beach is lovely with a fantastic view of the Mulberrys, at low tide you can walk out and stroll around some of them. The village is permanently decked out in English and American flags, the locals seem forever grateful for our sacrifices in 1944- providing we keep returning every year with our pockets stuffed with Euros of course! The small museum by the beach is well worth a visit if only to see the models of the Mulberrys in their heyday. The Post Office is very close by and if you turn right out of the entrance, turn left at the T-junction then you are on the road to Bayeux where of course you can visit the tapestry. The nearest large supermarket is the Hyper Champion in Courseulles-sur-Mer but there is also a LeClerk on the Bayeux peripherique.

Everything you expect of a good municipal. Take your own loo roll to be sure but everything was there that you would expect. Not dear, clean, right on the hugely impressive beach for the D day Mulberry harbour. Mainly French nationals on the site when we were there.

Site was clean, toilet block was also very clean. We arrived late and the reception was closed, but after waiting a few minutes the site warden came over and checked us in. The site was very peaceful during the night. A van comes round in the mornings with bread and pastries - very tasty!
Excellent for visiting the D-Day beaches and the museum in Arromanches was well worth a visit.

This is a really handy site of you want to tour the Invasion Beaches.
The Museums in the town-The D Day Museum and also the little Red Parachute Museum that is run by a Dutch(?) chap.
There are some small shops and Tourist Traps. A couple of ATMs and an excellent tourist office.
The Campsite is well placed, the showers are clean and is quiet at night.
The prices are also very sensible. Nice to still find a Municiple that is in private hands. So many are being bought out by big business.
An all round good site and I have used it for many years

We have just spent four nights at Arromanches. When we arrived the weather had been terrible and we had asked for a pitch that was near to the childrens play area, the lady asked us to go and see the pitch to see if it was suitable as it was quite soft underground, we had a look and then decided to change to another pitch which was still quite soft but much better , the lady apologised time and time again, but it really was just due to the enormous amount of rain! The showers are operated by a token, but they are warm and lasted for a good amount of time, enough time for me to wash and condition my long hair.and shave my legs! There is a small playground on the site and a municipal football/basketball court and two boules areas. It takes about 3 minutes to walk into Arromanches were the war museum was and about 10 minutes walk to the 360 degree cinema. Arromanches town is very traditional and pretty, with plenty of gift shops selling Calvados and war memorabilia. And of course the views of the mulberry harbour, Port Winston. We travelled daily to the nearby supermarkets, mostly in Bayeux, where there is a huge Hypermarche LeClerc which was about 15 minutes away in the car, and infact Bayeux town was only about 10 minutes away.
The site overall was clean and basic and really exactly what we had expected from a municipal site, it is definitely a stop over site with most people only staying for 1 or 2 nights.
It suited us for what we wanted, which was somewhere accessible for the landing beaches and museums and basically using the site just for sleeping, in fact we were surprised at how quiet the site was and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
