The site is on a slope but this didn't detract from our stay and it had excellent soil/drainage for camping. We arrived the day after very heavy rain (in August) and had no problems.
Quiet site in lovely quiet surroundings with beautiful views. Although this is a working farm, no tractors started too early. The washing facilities were clean and the hot water never ran out. The powerful taps meant that a sink of hot water was delivered in seconds.
Terrific play area for young children in the corner of the field. Good area for things to do, with Torquay/Torbay a short car drive away.
Proprietors were friendly and helpful. Would happily go for a return visit.

This campsite has very good views of the surrounding hills and is far enough away from the main road that there is little traffic noise save the odd tractor. We enjoyed the owl sounds in the evening.
Toilet and shower block is fine, although shower space is limited and one shower lacked sufficient power and temperature control. There is plenty of space to wash up dishes and a laundry facility.
Also useful is the small shop selling milk and fresh eggs in the morning open between 9-10. Although this is the only time there is access to the freezer which means ice blocks can only be switched during this period.
The site is on a slope but seems to drain ok and was not especially busy even in July.
Certainly this site is good value if you just want a base to travel around this part of Devon.

After a nine year break from camping and gaining an addition to the family along the way we decided Manor Farm to be the place to give camping a spin again.
Manor Farm is a lovely camp site, big enough to have some atmosphere small enough to be friendly. They only take tents due to access (some narrow lanes and steep hills) also means there is little traffic noise. The field is on a slight slope with a big dip in the middle. We pitched up on the upper part, the ground was level enough. No one was in the shop / office on our arrival so we pitched in the next available spot and caught up with the farmer the following day to pay. The whole booking in and payment process was really relaxed. The shop had a nice selection of stuff, although we didn’t need anything.
The facilities were good and clean enough, given you are in a field. Two small criticisms: 1) the showers were a bit small to get in and undressed and hang your clothes up (keeping everything dry) that said the showers were nice and powerful. 2) The hot tap water was VERY HOT – really not suitable for small children.
Wash-up area is good with three stations, and a laundry room as well.
The play are is a really nice feature, enough to keep the youngster happy for a while with swing, climbing area and slide.
1. We didn’t wander around the immediate area much, but a short drive away is a large Sainsbury’s and an M&S. Torquay is quite nice, although we went to the beach area at Oddicombe. We also took the train from Torquay station to Dawlish, this is only a short journey but takes you along an amazing piece of railway designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Dawlish has a nice beach area and a lovely little town, well worth seeking out is Gay’s Creamery for ice cream and baked goods (Pastys, pies, cakes etc).
In summary would we go back to Manor Farm – Yes!

We have just returned from a long weekend here. Lovely site with rolling countryside all around. The site itself is also on a hill so wherever you are you'll be on a bit of a slope. You pitch where you find a space which was at the top for us, close to the shop. Kids loved the little play area. Plenty of toilet & shower facilities with plenty of hot water, but could do with a bit of updating and cleaning. Also note there is no soap & you sometimes have to search for a loo with paper in the morning. I would definitely stay here again but book only a couple of nights at a time which they were very accommodating with this time too.

We have just got back from staying at Manor farm for 3 nights.
We found that the site was in a lovely setting and in a lovely area, not too far away from some great attractions - Paignton zoo, Babacoombe model village and the lovely town of Torquay.
The rates were very reasonable which we found was helpful as we were holidaying on a budget with 3 children.
The play area for the kids was useful and the facilities were good - hot & clean showers!
The owners were very helpful and friendly and even helped us out when we had a flat battery on the car.
I would recommend this lovely site to anyone who wants a good quality basic site that is not too expensive.
We will definitely be going back!

The site definitely only takes tents now! It has added a small play area for children and a great base for Torquay or Paignton. Lovely quiet site, good toilet facilities, really hot water for dishes. Not the best of roads leading to the site which is why they can't take caravans or motorhomes.

An excellent campsite!
There are beautiful views of rolling hills and valleys and the ground was in fabulous condition with plenty of shelter.
The shop was surprisingly reasonably priced but was not extensively stocked although the freshly laid free range eggs are a delightful feature.
The washrooms and toilets are spotless but there is no play area for the kids so they will have to make their own entertainment!
Manor Farm is a great site from which to base yourself for trips to Torquay and Dartmoor or for simply exploring the local area with its beautiful thatched cottages. It really is an idyllic setting!
I was surprised at how quiet it was considering what a glorious place it is. As far as campsites go this really must be one of the South -Wests best kept secrets!

This is a very nice, simple site. Very clean facilities and hot, electric (not on a timer) showers. This is a site on a 220 acre farm with lovely far reaching views towards Dartmoor. I think it's a tent only site (which is sometimes nice for tent campers!). There is a wonderful pub (The Lily) exactly 1 mile away which does fabulous beer & food.
