With the sun shining, as it did for most of May, this was a beautiful part of the country to arrive at. The park wasn‘t very busy and most pitches were slightly sloping but the use of normal levellers cured this. Paid £12 at the house for one night with hook up. Seemed reasonable until I checked out the toilet block. This was found to be in very poor condition. Only one out of the two showers was operational. The water pipe supplying the cistern for the men’s urinal was broken. There were other signs of general neglect that simple repairs could fix.
The nearby independent grocers was reasonably stocked and priced. The local museum is worth a visit especially for those with an interest in the highland clearances. Elizabeth’s café doubles as the tourist information. The Farr Bay Inn behind the museum and Elizabeth's provided a thirst quencher on a warm day.
Although choices are few and literally far between in this part of the country the other sites visited were very good, but I won’t be staying here again unless someone reports a change.

This is a basic site in a great part of the world. Fairly cheap (£5 per night when I went) and some good ground (among larger areas of poor ground) to pitch on but the toilet block is antiquated and was filthy when I visited. A full to overflowing bin in the wash area had been knocked over (cats?) and old food remains, bones etc were scattered across the dishwashing area. Money is paid on arrival at a house up the road and there was no sign of any warden visit during the two nights I was there - the aforementioned mess was still there when I departed. Perhaps it is cleaned more often during the summer season, I hope so. There are a couple of pubs serving food and Elizabeth's along the road going east provided a straightforward, good value meal (many of the local hotels are quite expensive for food). Well worth visiting the museum just behind Elizabeth's, and the north coast beaches and cliffs are fantastic.
