We have just returned from 7 nights at this campsite. Wonderful views and large and spacious flat pitches. Electric hook up was available but we don't use this.
The owner met us when we arrived - you have to phone the mobile number and she will come to the site entrance. This was challenging as the first phone we tried (Vodaphone) did not get a signal from the site and the other (o2) only just got a signal! I am sure other mobile phones get good signals.
As other reviewers have said the site is convenient for the beach and for Newport - good walk before breakfast to get a paper! Newport has everything you need - good pubs, small shops with lots of variety, even a street market on the Monday.
There are brilliant walks from the campsite - along the coast path or into the Preseli Mountains. All with gorgeous views. I also enjoyed a ride from Harvard Stables which is just a mile along the A487.
The showers were good and had plenty of hot water, 3 unisex and then one in each of the men's and ladies' units. Good hot water and space for washing up. There is a fridge, freezer and washing machine and dryer. You only need to pay for the washing machine and drier.
However the major drawback for us were the toilet facilities. There were two loos in each of the men's and the ladies' for the whole site. There was only a single very small washbasin with a cold water tap in the mens and the same in the ladies. This meant that if you wanted to wash your hands and someone was cleaning their teeth or, as my husband found, shaving then you couldn't.
There is also no way of drying your hands. There was a single unisex toilet that had a very small washbasin - but no mirror - where you could avoid being in the way.
We would love to go back to the area but probably won't visit this campsite again.

My Wife and I spent a week here last summer; we originally booked in for a long weekend of three nights which was extended to seven because we didn’t want to leave!
The site is basic but adequate and the facilities are kept spotless my only complaint was no hot water tap on the single sink in the Gents therefore a cold shave, there are showers in both the Ladies and the Gents and also a bank of three for unisex use.
‘Conifers’ is on a working farm and very relaxed, the pitches are an excellent size.
Linda (the site manager I think although it is very much a family concern) is a treasure she used to bring us freshly laid farm eggs in the morning; yes we did have to pay for them!
Lots of new arrivals at the site knew her so they were obviously returning campers.
The view from the bottom field, where we were, is gorgeous as is the little town of Newport.
Although both Welsh ourselves it was our first visit to this part of the country but we certainly intend returning there and staying again at Conifers.
Town is about a 20 minute walk, if you use the shortcut, the butchers in town, although a bit expensive, have excellent meat and we actually brought some home to North Wales! (So it must have been good). Perfect for those BBQ’s, try it you won’t be sorry! They also sell organic vegetables.
We frequented the ‘Royal Oak’ in the main street, very friendly and the food is excellent, the owner is Malaysian and the curries are exceptional as are the traditional Sunday lunches.
There is a Spar shop next to the butchers which carries all the essentials, if you want supermarkets you will have to go to Fishguard or Cardigan, all depends on what you want from a camping holiday.
I cannot say how it would be for kids as ours have grown up and we were on our own, but the beach area looked really good and there was no shortage of kids on it!
For us it was wonderful.

We had a lovely few days at this site. It is clean and tidy, with plenty of space. There a plenty of showers, although there was a problem with the electric for the first morning we were there.
It is a very quiet area, within easy walking distance to Newport, the small near-by town. There are plenty of pubs that serve excellent food and a few small shops. If larger shops are needed or a busier town, Fishguard is only 10min away in the car.
The toilets have paper, and there are laundry (small charge), fridge, freezer and washing-up facilities, washing-up liquid is provided.
The coastal walk is nice, and the beach is clean.
Having fabulous views, the site can be a little exposed, but the site is not boggy.
It is a mixed site of tents and tourers, all can be in one field. There are electric hook-up if required. The owner is very friendly, but leaves campers to do their own thing. Payment is cash or cheque upfront.
Overall a very enjoyable stay, and definitely would return.

We were in the lower field. The views of the bay are amazing, and although the price for this can be strong winds, the hedge did offer some shelter during the one stormy night we had. The site also drains very quickly.
The facilities are very clean and the showers free and hot. The pitches are generous and there is plenty of space for the kids to play. The owners are lovely. The site is very well located - the beaches a 10 minute walk away, as is the coastal path. The centre of Newport is about a 15 minute walk.
Another reviewer commented that the shopping facilities in Newport are poor. If you want a large supermarket you will be disappointed. However, isn't part of the charm of camping getting away from this? In contrast we stayed a week and did all our shopping in Newport. There is a Spar for all the essentials, a health food shop with fresh fruit and veg as well as the usual wholefood fare, a great hardware shop which sells everything (!) and a chemist - not to mention a superb butcher. So don't worry - you won't be stranded!
We caught the bus to DInas Cross one day to walk back to Newport along the coastal path. You don't have to walk into town to the bus stop. If you go out of the campsite entrance on the main road and walk out of Newport for about five minutes, you get to a layby and a few houses (by the entrance to Tycanol campsite). It is not an official bus stop but if you flag it down it will stop. It is the same on the other side of the road. It is quite handy for Conifers. You can get bus timetables from the tourist information centre opposite the car park in the centre of Newport.
The walk back was lovely - gorgeous bays only accessible by walkers and superb views from the coastal path. As with most cliff top paths some bits are very close to the edge, and I am glad I didn't take my giddy 2 year old! But for older children its great. Brilliant holiday.

Had a fabulous stay here, this campsite has the best view ever over Newport bay. The facilities are spotlessly clean and the site is very well kept. Plenty of space to run about so our 5 year old was very happy.
Newport is very charming and we had a very good curry at the Oaks and an excellent dinner at the Canteen. The owner made us feel very welcome at the campsite and as a bonus fresh eggs can be bought there too. Bear in mind though that Newport sands is a 'dogs allowed' beach, plenty of other beaches in the area though. I like small campsites and it was lovely and quiet too.

We have stayed at the Conifers site several times in both a tent and a caravan and we really like it. The site itself is split into two halves, we have always stayed in the Western side which houses the main facilities block.
The site is gently sloping but still fine for camping and the views across Newport Bay are absolutely fantastic. These views do sometimes come at a cost as it can be quite windy but locations don't get much better than this.
The facilities are relatively spartan but everything is there including free showers, communal fridge and freezer, washing machines and a washing up room. Everything is clean and I have never seen a queue for the showers.
The Parrog (a small harbour) and Newport beach are a short walk down the lane (slightly harder work on the way back up), the Village is easily reached by foot too and has nice pubs and reataurants, a good hardware and camping supplies shop and a well stocked Spar mini supermarket as well as gift shops and a flagship tourist information centre.
The lovely Gwaun Valley is pretty much over the road as well so ideal for walkers. The owners of the site are genuinely friendly and the atmosphere is pretty laid back. As long as you remember that this is a farm site and not a party venue then you will not be disappointed

We stayed at conifers just for a couple of nights, as it was our first time camping. We arrived to be greeted by the owner who showed us to our pitch pointed out where the toilets / showers were then told us what way to go to the nearest town and the way to the beach, she was very helpful. The toilets were very clean as were the showers with no queues either. The washing up and washing machine area were very clean. Very good pitch for our big tent and two cars. The pitch we was on had a slight slope but not really noticeable when in the tent. Good views and nice beach about 10 mins walk away, one thing I would say is that the cashpoint in newport as there is only one runs out of cash early in the day. Nice fish and chip shop about 5 mins drive away, We would definitely return next year for a longer stay

The section we camped at was the lower field to the north of the lane that runs down to the estuary. The field was small, I guess there was space for about 15 pitches.
The best thing about the site was the view to north east of the sandy bay and rugged coast beyond. The site was also fairly well positioned being a 5 to 10 minute walk down to the shore to the north and roughly 15-20 minute walk to the centre of town.
The field was just about level enough not to be a problem and there was plenty of hookups. The pitches were generously proportioned. The facilities comprised a toilet block with shower, another shower block and a utility room with washer/dryer and freezer all of which were clean and tidy if perhaps starting to ravel around the edges.
We paid £42 upfront for two adults, two children our camper plus awning with electric hookup for two nights.
Trefdraeth is a great place for days on the beach, canoeing in the sheltered bay and drinking in the local pubs.
Even though there was nothing wrong per se with the site we probably won't be returning since the owner traumatised our children after they were found trampling her hay field. I don't blame her really, it was our fault for letting them go, but the site is confined so not suitable if you have children that like to explore.

We stayed at the site first week in August and on our arrival, we were greeted by the very pleasant owner. Payment was upfront for the week by cash or cheque, cards not accepted.
The site is well placed with a great view overlooking Newport sands. The lower field (where we pitched) appeared to be the flatter of the two with plenty of hookup points. Pitches were large with lots of space for our 7 metre tent and 2 cars. Both fields are quite exposed and when the wind gets up, it REALLY gets up.
The facilities where a little disappointing, looked very make shift and could do with a good scrub. However, 5 free showers (3 shared and 1 in each of the toilet blocks) meant we never had to queue. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing anyone queuing for anything. A small utility room on the end of the toilet / shower block had that makeshift look again but offered freezer, fridge (quite a rarity), washing machine and drier, 2 washing up sinks.
The site is about 15 minute walk down a narrow lane to Newport centre which itself offers very little in the way of proper shopping, for essentials or otherwise. The nearest large town is Fishguard offering a Tesco Express and Somerfield.
All in all, a good site with fantastic views and a great location to go exploring the local area. I would say the facilities were average, but with the low cost, this wouldn't put me off visiting again.
