Love this site. The site is beautiful. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are very child-friendly. I think my kids would've stayed there forever! Every evening the owners came around with glow sticks for the kids which I thought was a lovely touch. There are tyre and rope swings which the kids can play on and a tremendous freedom from the usual campsite regulations and nanny state mentality! The pitches are incredibly well spaced and open fires are positively encouraged with braziers at every pitch and big open fire pits for big groups. The night skies are beautiful. The lighting on site at night is pretty low- which is lovely- but a good torch is a must! The toilet blocks are new, clean, free and well-maintained. There isn't a shop on site and the nearest shop is a drive away as is, pretty much everything- so a car is essential here. This is simple, clean, well maintained site with fantastic owners- such a lovely place to stay.

What can I add. This site it excellent. So good we thought twice about leaving a review, in case we couldn't book in again!
I am a wheelchair user and informed Maggie when we booked who replied straight away and was most helpful. The owners Chris and Maggie were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, visiting daily with supplies of wood for the burner and a chat.
This is what camping (or caravanning they take up to 5 caravans) should be. Huge amount of space, only about 5 to 6 pitches each discretely set in their own clearings. Creating a good atmosphere to chat to fellow campers whilst sitting by campfires in the evening. No regimented rows, just good old camping fun with two lakes, meadows, wandering chickens, and a few pigs. We don't have children (ours are now grown up) but it was lovely to see the young ones just enjoying themselves. No one ever felt on top of you because you are given so much space. If we can get in we'll be back and back again. If you want noise, bright lights, and lots of laid on entertainment this is NOT a site for you. If you want to get away from it all, enjoy sitting around the campfire and enjoying the simple things nature has to offer on a friendly 'old fashioned' campsite, you will love it. We are booked to return this year.

A wonderful spacious campsite with good clean shower/loo facilities. Also, a washing up sink, freezer for your ice packs and a swap-shop for camping equipment.
We loved the fact that cars are kept off the site (except for pitching and un-pitching). The open fires (kiln dried logs, kindling and “flamers” delivered to your pitch), glo-sticks and fairy lights all created a lovely atmosphere.
Fishing lakes, tyre swing and mown area for games/kite flying kept the whole family happy. Most other campers seemed very friendly and sociable and some happy times were spent around the communal fire pit.
The spaced out pitches mean that groups can camp together and have plenty of space. The quiet 11pm – 7am time is strictly adhered to thankfully.
The whole site is kept very clean and separating of rubbish into recyclables is actively encouraged. Compost loo is worth a visit!
To nit-pick, we did find that the men’s showers seemed to run short of hot water occasionally and the washing up sinks often had no hot water.
We loved the whole ethos and atmosphere – it is a lovely, relaxing place to spend time and we will most definitely return. Thank you to the lovely owners.

Beautiful campsite set in the pretty Dorset countryside. Well stocked lakes for fishing, a gentle stroll to the pub, exceptionally clean toilet/shower block and very friends owners.
hris, Maggie and their 2 sons run the site and take great care to keep it clean and are really friendly. They use a quad bike and trailer to collect the rubbish, deliver wood for your campfire and a golf buggy to dtop by and say hello in the evening.
Stunning views from the pitches which are very spacious. Brand new toilet/shower block which is kept clean.
Druscillas Inn is close by and serves great pub grub. Chris will even pick you up after a few beers.
Great location for a visit to Bounremouth, Christchurch and Poole, also close to New Forest for walk and bike rides.
A lovely relaxing site where there are no rules except be nice or leave and it works perfectly. We will definitely be returning.

This is one of the best sites I have stayed on because the owners genuinely care about their visitors. They spend over an hour every evening visiting each pitch, chatting and giving out glow sticks to the children. My grandson loved this and also the fact that fires are encouraged. He enjoyed the fishing and caught lots of fish for a very modest charge, unlike other places who charge you for a days fishing even if you only fish for 1 hour. The new toilet and showers are wonderful, even better than the 2 major club sites with free hairdryers and quality toilet paper. Theres lots to do in the area with Moors valley country park and Ringwood just down the road. The local pub, Drusillas, serves quality local food and does fish and chips to take away. The site even has a swap shop area where you can pick up unwanted items left behind by others. We will be back!

Having read the previous reviews we were pleasantly surprised to find they have a lovely brand new loo and shower block! There are now 4 loos and 4 showers for the ladies. I assume that is the the same for the gents too.
The only thing I didn't like was the gavel out side. You can walk barefoot around the campsite but end up hobbling over the last couple of meters on the way to the loo. There were apparently washing up sinks but we never found them! We could have asked but we washed up at our tent.
There is also a lovely composting loo with loo roll, hand wipes and de-sanitiser provided which I regularly used until the last evening when some gent obviously didn't sit down as requested by the MANY reminders and left it in a disgraceful mess for everyone else. Shame on you Mr Man who ever you are.
We were very pleased with the whole set up of the site. There was masses of room for each pitch although please be warned - when you have set up you have to move your car to one of the car parks so don't think you can 'live out the boot'.
This site is not over populated and is set up in small groups with a few single sites too. The owners came round often to check everything was ok and handed out glo-sticks to the children just as it was getting dark. They also came round with wood in rubber buckets which I assume you had to pay for (we took our own) Lovely site. Very well run. Would go again.

I booked this site for a 3 night stay (fri, sat, sun) in June time, for me and a friend, I was travelling on my motorcycle, sadly my friend couldn't make it, so I went alone.
It was my first time travelling on my bike alone, when I arrived, I noticed the site was gravel leading to grass and I was nervous about riding on this ground, luckily the owner had a motorcycle of his own so he helped me get my bike to the pitch.
The owners were so helpful, they offered to help dry my motorcycle clothing (it was a very wet weekend)
The toilet block is newly built (wasn't completely finished when I went) with showers, toilets, vanity cubicles. There is also an 'eco toilet' down the other end of the campsite, its really not as bad as it sounds and very clean!
The pitches are large and well spaced out. The campsite rules are not at all regimental which is brilliant, its very much 'do what you like providing you don't hurt/upset others and its not going to damage anything or anyone'
It allows you to relax and chill with friends/family. A brilliant site for families, with lakes for fishing. Its not to far from bournemouth and the nearest town wimbourne.
Its slightly awkward to find, if coming from wimbourne direction as it is on the left with the sign slightly hidden, and the track can be a bit tight when meeting other vehicles.
But overall I would recommend this site and cannot wait to return!

Just returned from the Easter break from this campsite it was fully booked but felt empty it was great.
The pro's
If your into fishing this will not disappoint, plenty of healthy well stocked lakes.
If you have electric hookup you are right by a lake.
Quiet from 11pm every adheres to the rules.
The owners come round with wood and glow sticks for the kids in the evening and are around all day keeping the site tidy and clean empting bins etc.
Showers/toilets clean and basic a new shower block is being built but I found the existing ones are fine.
Our pitch was huge
The cons none
This is a great site

This was our second visit to this campsite, still has all the charm from our last visit. It is very relaxing and always enjoy sitting around the brazier in the evenings.
The owners are wonderful and nothing was too much bother. It's nice that they come around in the evenings to check that your ok.
The downside is the toilet block. There are only 2 showers per sex for the campsite and 2 female toilets in the block with the 1 additional eco loo. Hopefully this will be resolved with the opening of the new block, which is promised for this year. It would be nice to see a few more eco loos dotted around the site as the main block is quite a distance to walk.
All in all a great holiday and very relaxing. The pitches give you plenty of space which is great. We will be going back.

After spending such a lovely couple of nights at this campsite, we would definitely go back. Plenty of space, friendly and helpful owners, friendly other campers. Beautifully landscaped.
I had to visit the compost loo as I am passionate about this subject! It was beautifully constructed and comfortable but didn't have any sawdust to throw down, which was consequently making it smell a little
It is a shame as this is what tends to put people off! And compost loos really don't have to smell if looked after well. But as this was my only moan about the weekend, everything else was perfect.
