We stayed here for 2 nights and there was no problem booking at such short notice. We were met by a friendly man who took us straight to our pitch and never asked for payment till next day. Overall site is big and quite nice with a play area for kids. The shower block was ok for a site this size. However, we felt tourers and campers should be in a separate field. We were situated in the middle of a field surrounded by sited touring caravans and felt we were in their way! Felt a sense of unfriendliness towards us. We will return to welshpool, but not this site.

Nice quiet site during the week, but busy and a little noisier come the weekend with children, for which there is a small park, but nothing to worry about, a good family site. Toilet block was always clean and tidy, a well kept site with friendly owners. Nice walk along river through fields, but only a short walk. A few helicopters could be heard a few times a day but nothing to much. Would recommend this site.

Just spent bank holiday weekend here after a very wet week with reports of many places reporting flooded fields and boggy ground.
Arrived to a friendly greeting and picked our pitch, no pressure for payment till Sat morning.
We pitched right next to the river, a beautiful peaceful relaxing location I must say. The ground was soft but not wet or muddy.
As previous reviews state the toilet facilities are dated although the shower facilities for the ladies does seem new.
Park for kiddies kept my 9 year old happy.
Lots of space to kick a ball around.
Walked to local pub, right out of site, upto junction and take a left. Friendly small country pub, pool table and beer garden.
Walks for dogs and to stretch legs.
So downsides, and there aren't many.
Toilets as previously reported, showers are a trickle and everything gets wet, freezing cold tiles as NO heating at all. As I suffer with poor circulation and arthritis in my knees this was a little uncomfortable on my feet.
The noise at night. I'm not a party pooper by any means, but I wished that the group of kids that gathered one caravan down from us at 11pm had chosen to gather outside their own. Why don't they ever do that???? Then the group of people that decided to walk through the site as though it were 12. 30 lunch time not midnight. Was a little annoying but hey ho!
Need to address the site entrance sign as we drove past it once then nearly missed it a second time if I hadn't seen the statics.
Will be returning that's certain.

We stayed on the site for a weekend very nice site but the shower and toilet facilities were a long way from the camping field. The shower block in the gents was flooded. We are used to staying on sites that have a bucket with disinfectant to mop up after yourself. The area for refuge was also a concern very untidy and smelly. There is a public house just a short walk away for liquid refreshments only, no food. The site had some lovely walks along the river seven and not to far to visit Welshpool

We chose this site off UKCampsite.co.uk as the reviews looked good, and we were happy with the choice.
We booked so we could get a pitch close to the shower block, on arrival we were told to pitch up on the field by a friendly owner and someone would be round in the morning to take payment, a good first impression!
The pitches were really good, flat & dry after all the rain we'd been having, something that you don't get very often.
For the kids there is a small play park and by the pond a lot of ducks that they can feed!
The only gripe was the showers they were in ok condition and clean but know where to hang your clothes, just needed some shelves on the back of the doors to keep everything off the wet floor.
In all a good stay and very much recommended even more so at £12 a night on EHU.

We chose this site off ukcampsite as the reviews looked good, and we were happy with the choice.
We didn,t have to book and when we arrived we were told to pitch up on the field by a friendly owner and someone would be round in the morning to take payment, a good first impression!
The pitches were really good and flat, something that you dont get very often, and spread apart enough that you aren't on top of the next tents, there was a fishing pond on the field that Father in law was happy with!
For the kids there is a small play park and by the pond a lot of ducks that they can feed!
The only gripe was that the toilets are quite a distance away!, a good 5 to 10 minutes there and back but they are in good condition and clean.
In all a good stay and very much recommended

I only started camping this year and this was the first site I have been too and we love it. Been 5 times so far this year many more to come.
People who run this site are great, the regulars on site are great too, they are always ready to help if you need it. Everyone always ready to stop and chat.
There's lots to do. Or not if you prefer.
There good sized playing field, park, fishing on site, kids room not much in there but the kids spend hours up there, laundry room, electric hook ups but call and book as thay are always in demand thay are like gold dust here.
Toilets/ showers / family room / indoor washing up area, fresh water taps all over the site portaloo taps & disposal areas, waste bins all over the site & emptyed regular
This site is very clean, friendly site.
My family love this place can't wait until we go again & again & again.

We have camped here several times over the past three years. The site is mainly static caravans or long term lease mobile homes. The camping field doubles up as a play field. The river severn runs right alongside the site! The showers are free but a bit dribbly, although the water is nice and warm. The toilet block overall is old BUT clean. The site is full of people from the birmingham area, but is very friendly, you usually just turn up and pitch on the camping field, but it may be prudent to phone first. Powys castle is 5 minutes by car. There is no club and it is not close to a pub, although welshpool is close. Plenty to do round here. A basic no frills site that is perfect as a base for a long weekend.

Spent a weekend at this site with a group of friends. Nice location down by the river. However the site consists of a number of static vans and also a large number of tourers which spend the season there. These seemed to be fairly close together and there was the odd touring pitch amongst them. We however were on pitches opposite the chidrens play area and which appeared to be more spacious.
There was a large camping field adjacent to our pitches, which was very busy the weekend we went.
The play area was well equiped and kept all the children entertained [ages ranging from 3-13].
The toilet block was somewhat dated and situated the furthest point from the camping field and our pitches. They were clean and showers although cost 20p were hot.
There is a small washing up area at toilet block again plenty of hot water.
The plus side had to be the price as at £12 a night with electric hook up, its one of the cheapest we`ve been to.
Montgomery and its ruined castle is not bad for an afternoon visit.
