This was our first time camping and so glad we chose this site. The toilets and showers were really clean as well as the place as a whole, staff were really nice, always willing to help. We went for a 4 night stay but only stayed of 3 and the manger even offered to refund us the one night. There is a tesco's about 1 mile away for all the shopping. We can recommend this site very much and will be going back again. Just to mention the days out to many lovely places are only a short drive away.

This is a lovely site in a beautiful setting under pine trees. Chickens wander around during the day, scratching for bugs.
It is a sloping site but the owners provide wood to balance your unit if you do not have levellers.
The new showers/toilets are great and kept clean. There are hookup points. The owners are extremely helpful in getting you sited.
Access is good just off the main road into Dawlish. Dawlish is walkable if you are used to walking.
There is a limited bus service into Dawlish/Dawlish Warren and beyond or to Exeter/Taunton the other way.
We would have liked to stay longer but we were touring.

We stayed at this site for one night whilst travelling home from the West Country. A lovely setting not far from Dawlish Warren and close to what seems to be a new Sainsbury's store under construction (great when you forget the milk!).
We had a warm welcome and were told to set up anywhere we wanted in reason. The site is surrounded by trees but has plenty of sunny areas in the middle for relaxing.
The toilet block and showers are brand new and spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water with no irritating buttons to press. Can honestly say best facilities we have been to on small sites.
This couple are certainly working hard to improve what is already a great site. Would recommend a stay here with this very friendly couple. We wish them well for the future.

My wife and I are trying to emulate the BBC programme by driving our motorhome round the UK coastline. During this ongoing project, we have found a real mixture of sites, but this one is easily elevated to a place in our 'Top 3'.
As the site description states, Sue and Dave Brown only took ownership of this small location in December, moving their furniture in during the height of the snow!
We are proud and pleased to state that we were their very first campers (ever!) and the first to use their brand new and spotless facilities where you could still smell the freshness of the plastered walls - they even put the doors onto the shower cubicles in our honour!
There are 5 hookups and space for family tents in what amounts to part of their garden. There will be additions to the one hardstanding soon!
A great location, just four minutes out of the great little town of Dawlish. Here you can sample the Brunel railway along the coast in either direction as described in Michael Portillo's 'Railway Journeys' travelling all the way to Plymouth or Exmouth. Alternatively, just enjoy the local area on foot or by road.
An excellent small, quiet and friendly site run by great people!

Previous review still stands as per facilities, still waiting for shower to be fitted a year on. There are 2 hardstandings if you can call them that, almost impossible to get level and difficult to reverse onto. Details state no vehicles longer than 7 metres, I would suggest this is reduced to 6 metres.
When we arrived there were 4 caravans, 2 motorhomes including us and one tent. This does not include the owners motorhome parked at top, so exceeding the limit (I know tents are not included in the 5-van rule).
Details state 2 minutes drive from beach and shops so we assumed (wrongly) that we could walk to them in about 10/15 minutes. The main road which this site is on has no footpath and is far too dangerous to walk along. Bear this in mind if you choose this site because of the location.
Also seems expensive compared with others at £13 per night inc electric.

Campsite is in the grounds of a very well presented B & B in countryside a couple of miles from the centre of town.
Stayed the Friday and Saturday night. Dawlish had received a lot of rain in the days leading up to our stay and we were advised to pitch at the top of the small enclosed site where the ground was firmer.
The site is compact and basic and has electric hookup if needed. No facilities other than a water tap, chemical toilet drain and a toilet and handbasin in a cabin. There is no shower here yet but the owner suggested that one would be fitted in the cabin before winter. This backs onto what will be a holiday flat(s) once completed.
The site is sloping and would be tricky to manoeuvre a caravan in when wet.
Car parking is at the entrance to the site on hardstanding.
