The last time we stopped over in Luxembourg we used the excellent Bon Acceuil site, but after reading a recent post about having to arrive there really early to get a pitch, we decided to try Kockelscheuer.
As others have said, it's a very pleasant site with large, level, grassy pitches. When we were there it rained heavily but the ground didn't get too waterlogged. There are two excellent shower blocks. The only complaint we had was that the push-button for the shower only lasted a very short time.
The washing-up sinks are a bit odd - there are no draining boards of any sort, but the sinks are very long, with room for both a washing-up bowl and for draining the dishes. The taps are cold water only but there is a hot tap in the laundry room nearby to fill your bowl from. There were no separate sinks for hand-washing of clothes, so presumably you have to use the washing-up sinks.
For us the main disadvantage of this site was the noise of aeroplanes taking off and landing. They weren't particularly frequent, but the last one at night was after 11 pm and the first one in the morning was at 6. 15 and woke us up - it was so loud the whole caravan vibrated!
On balance I would have to say I preferred Bon Acceuil, which also has a better selection of restaurants and supermarkets close by.

This is the 2nd time we've visited this site. It's a great stop off or place for longer stay.
Location:
Well located within easy walking distance of local transport into the city (10 minutes by bus), this site is an excellent base for exploring Luxembourg. Nice walks and cycles rout from the site. Helpful staff; English spoken.
Facilities:
The toilet and shower facilities are superb, with large, modern shower cubicles a motorhome service point, well stocked shop and bar.
Prices:
Absolute bargain at 15 Euros per night for motorhome with two people and electricity. Good value for facilities and location.

Our second stay at this campsite and it has not changed from last year. The staff, toilet and shower facilities are first class, nice big pitches and a very quiet campsite considering how busy it becomes. As people have said there is a great bus service into the city just outside the camp, Would recommend you get off at the train station rather than terminus and walk then into the city centre it only takes about ten minutes but loads to see on the way. Would recommend this site either for a stop over or longer stay.

We have stayed at this site for several consecutive years now; it's a great stop-over. The site is always busy but the pitches are large and spacious.
Although the toilet/shower facilities are large, they do seem to be looking rather tired now we thought and the standard of cleanliness not as good as in previous years.
The site is easily located from the motorway network and the situation excellent for visiting the city with a bus service almost at the entrance to the site.
Good value for money. Sometimes, Reception can be a bit 'tight lipped'

Just to reinforce what people have said in previous years. Clean, cheap (12 euros a night for two and tent) site *very* convenient for Luxembourg Ville by bus (and it's no fun in a car!) several times an hour - 3 euros return. There is a friture (chip shop with sausage and drinks) for a few hours each evening and a restaurant-pizzeria in the sports centre next door.
Disadvantages are that the gates are locked 1200-1400; as noted, there is a background hum of traffic but I became deaf to that after a short period - what's harder to ignore are planes taking off from the nearby aiport - later at night and earlier in the morning than one would hope! No special children's facilities.
Luxembourg city is fairly compact with interesting museums, galleries and ruins - walking round can easily occupy a couple of days.

Very well organised site close to the City, easy to find being just off the motorway. Owners spoke good English. Mostly a touring caravan site but a small field for tents is available, very flat and well kept. Toilet/shower block was superb. Plenty of hot water and hot water for washing up. A well stocked shop was on site but does tend to close early at weekends. No cars allowed to enter the site after 10.30pm. A frequent bus service takes you into town in about 20 mins to half an hour. Only slight negative is the road noise but that is to be expected of site so close to a city!

This is a huge, efficient and spotless campsite and is the closest one to the City of Luxembourg.
Facilities were spotless, staff gave excellent information and rates were cheap, at around 14 euros a night with EHU.
A bus runs regularly day and night from outside the site into Luxembour City.
The city is well worth a visit with lots of palaces, statues and underground casements which were interesting to visit.
This place provided an excellent stopover point on route from the Black Forest to Bruges, but could easily have stayed longer.
