Great location on canals, portacabin block clean and tidy, £15 for pitch and hookup.

I used hard standing next to toilet block, but others in field. Joined up with a lovely couple who hitched a lift to the pub. Owner Ben was friendly. Recommend BUT the road down to site off Tomlow Road is a nightmare of deep pot holes which the owner says a neighbour is due to fill in. I hope so soon, that is the only thing stopping me going back. I would check before booking.

We took possession of our very first motorhome only 3 weeks ago and this was to be our first 'adventure'! We were keen to get away in our new motorhome as soon as we could but with Bank Holiday looming we knew it wasn't going to be easy to find a site. We were very lucky indeed to find Wigrams! I spoke to Ben and explained our plight. He said that he would be able to accommodate us but our first night would be with no hook up. We were happy with that but when we arrived he had managed to sort us out with hook up on both days! We were beside the shower block which was set away from the main field and although this may sound like a negative point, believe me it wasn't! (the shower/toilet block was obviously very new, consisting of 1 good sized shower and 2 toilets) 6 feet away from our motorhome was a small wooden gate that led to a grass bank by the side of the canal where we spent a couple of long, leisurely afternoons in the sun watching the barges drift by and feeding the ducks! There was a very nice bar/restaurant about a mile away that served excellent food. The only down side to the weekend was that there isn't a bus service on Sunday! Thank you Ben for making our first experience of 'motorhoming' a very pleasant one! We will be back!

I cannot praise this site enough. It is so quiet and peaceful you feel relaxed within seconds. Situated alongside 2 canals we could have spent hours watching the boats go by. The shower block is still under going some changes but is up, running and, I must add, very nice indeed. We never had to wait despite there being 8 units of one sort or another. There are 2 fields and several hook-up points. There aren't any playground facilities for children but the open space is more than enough for them to run around in. There is a pub nearby, which we had a drink at, but thought that the menu was rather expensive. There is a small garden nursery a few minutes walk away which is very nice. We were charged £14 per night, with EHU and this was excellent value. They had no more nor less than the expensive sites. Certainly value for money. Would we visit again? Most definitely!

Now under new ownership this site has lots of potential. The toilet/shower block opened the day we got there, although one is definitely NOT enough. There were 6 caravans and 8 tents so long queues were inevitable! We were fortunate to have good weather, it was very peaceful watching dozens of barges sailing past, listening to the birds singing and generally just relaxing. All the electric points are still to be done, but no doubt a fantastic site when all work is completed. Possibly better signage at the entrance which is right next to a No Go Bridge for caravans.

If you want rural peace and tranquillity this is it. Situated next to the canal, with views for miles, the site is simply 2 fields with basic hook-ups, and a portable cabin housing the loos and one shower. The site has a new owner (Ben)who is very pleasant and has only been there a month. He is aware that a little TLC is required. There is a very long approach road to the site which is in need of maintenance and the toilet block could be a little cleaner but other than that we loved the place.

As the site was quiet when we were there our dogs were allowed to run free and had a great time just playing in the field.

There are lovely walks along the busy canal with plenty to watch as the barges go by and the locks are opened. Stratford on Avon, Warwick and Coventry are within a 30/40 minute drive away.

The Kings Head and the Bridge pubs, which can be accessed via one of several towpaths, are both dog friendly and serve good food, although fairly pricey.

Unless your kids can amuse themselves I wouldn't recommend you take them here but if all you want is peace, quiet and the open countryside this is the place for you. We will certainly return to this site when we next visit Warwickshire.

This was our second visit in as many weeks, and the fact we came back speaks volumes. £10 per night for two adults and the pitch, kids were 50p each per night.

The site is beautifully located between two canals and offers large expansive fields for both the camping and the playing (or so we thought)

This time we went with some smaller friends, who were happily exploring the fields, only to be told they were not allowed to play in the grass and that they had to stay around the tents. This was somewhat frustrating as I had sold this site to my friends on the fact their children could run for hours in the fields. After being advised the field was out of bounds, it really limited their options, however we still played football and frisbee in the small strip we were pitched on.

The site is made up of two fields, one flatter, more sheltered field, with electric and one larger fields, generally non electric.

The views are stunning from the site with miles of rolling countryside to gaze at. Being very rural too, there was limited light pollution making for some great star gazing

Located on the canals, one can walk for miles and miles and there are some pubs on the way. We walked to the Bridge which is 1 mile away. This time we had lunch there and was very disappointing, two slices of bread, some tuna and a sprinkling of lettuce for a fiver. However their evening meals are far better and not bad value.

There are a few villages offering general stores for most things, and Southam (5 miles) is larger with a bigger selection of stores.

Plenty of pubs in the area too.

The toilets are in a portable building, with two toilets and two urinals in the same block, which is fine and for the ladies that do not want interruptions, they do leave the key in the door.

The shower is also in the same block, to the side and is perfectly usable and does the job. Both toilets and shower were very clean and well maintained.

Fresh water and chemical waste available on site, along with bins and they ask offer recycling too.

Some road noise, but not too much, only really when the bikes scream by or the lorries trundle along. But to be honest, we hardly noticed this. You hear the barges putt putt along the canal more, which is nice to see and hear.

Overall, gutted this time that the kids could not use the field to run in (although the dog was allowed) and the owner was as friendly as last time. So thumbs up from me.

One thing that did annoy me was that the owners dog, although old and harmless, was allowed to wander free and came over to our units a few times and pestered us.

Visited this site at the end of a week's touring, it was originally going to be first on our itinerary, but we changed the direction of our touring loop, so I was looking forward to getting there after a week.

We found the site with no problems using satnav directions, over a couple of canal bridges, access was relatively easy. On arrival we had a friendly reception from the owner, who told us we could pitch where ever we liked, and gave us a run down of the facilities. He also gave us some info on local pubs, and which way to walk down the canal paths etc, he had plenty of time to chat which was nice. Someone else mentioned the owner's dog wandering around the site, but we didn't see it at all!

The site has two large areas to pitch, a well kept field with hookups, which had a couple of touring caravans in it, and a huge field at the back, which had just one campervan in it, which we opted to use. It's further to the facilities, but gave us plenty of privacy, we loved it. This field had been allowed to grow naturally in the most part, and was full of lovely long wild grass, which the dogs loved, and was really rather nice to look at. A narrow strip at the side was mown, which is where we pitched. This part backs on to the canal path, although you cannot access it directly from the pitch.

Once set up we decided to wander down to the pub for something to eat, along the canal path. We opted to go to The Bridge, it took us about 10 minutes and was a lovely walk alongside the canal. Food in there was slightly expensive perhaps, but very good. The pub is on the canal path too, so you can sit outside and overlook the comings and goings. There are a couple of other pubs in the village, but we didn't use them.

Back to the site, what a beautiful setting! Set on the junction of Grand Union and the Oxford Canals, there is miles of walking straight off site, and you can set off in at least three different directions along the canal paths. We only stopped on night, but in the morning I took the dogs for a nice long walk northwards, passing several marinas, masses of narrowboats chugging along, and quite a few locks. Lovely.

Facilities are basic, and perfectly serviceable. There is a portacabin type block which houses the toilets, and in a separate area the shower. Previous reviewers have commented on the toilets being unisex, but the owner told us you can easily lock the main door if you don't want to be disturbed! The shower was clean and the temperature perfect. In the toilet section the floor was slightly flooded in one corner ( with fresh water I would point out - looked like it came from the shower room) but presumably this is a one off, and the owner would resolve this by the time someone else visits.

To sum up, I loved this site. I loved the freedom of being able to pitch where we liked in a huge open field, quiet and peaceful, lovely views, fantastic walking along the canals without having to go near a road, pubs and shops within walking distance, loads of room and safe for kids to play and for dog walking. As I mentioned facilities are not luxurious, but acceptable and usable, especially bearing in mind it was just £10 a night.

I will definitely return to this site, and so long as you know what to expect, highly recommend it for a mostly back to basics site, camping as it should be.

Just returned from a weekend at this site, it is only 30 miles from home, so we took a drive out before booking to see what it was like.

Location: Beautiful. Situated on the junction of the Grand Union & Oxford Canals, we had some lovely walks along the towpaths, which were in very good order. The canals were very busy, there were lots of lovely boats to watch. There were two or three pubs close by too, offering a variety of food, although we did not eat at any of them.

The site: You enter the site over a narrow canal bridge. There are two fields, the one to the left, behind the old toll cottage is the 'actual' site field, there is another straight ahead where we were located. The ground in both fields appeared to be reasonably level, and some quite nice views too. TV reception was excellent.

That is all the good stuff, now for the rest. The toilets are in a portable cabin, there are two cubicles and two urinals, and the toilets are mixed sex. This means if my wife was in a cubicle, there is nothing to stop a male using the urinals near the sink, which causes issues when my wife leaves the cubicle, and vice versa. There was also a shower in a separate area, but this always seemed to run cold.

This site is advertised as a certified location, 5 caravans or motor homes, and tents as space allows I believe is the correct description. During our weekend, 8th to 10th June, there were 12 caravan's / motor homes, and a good number of tents. This would explain the showers always being cold.

The electric hook up was an extension lead run to a post, with standard 3 pin plugs and hook up cable adapters, which were shielded from the rain with clear plastic bags, which were full of water!

The site is dog friendly, and you are instructed to keep your dog on a lead at all times. Annoyingly, the owner has a dog too, and it is allowed to wander the site freely. To be quite honest, it was a confounded nuisance (and we are dog owners), it was always sniffing around the vans, trying to force its way into your awning, or take food if you were eating outside!

So, in summary, we loved the site for location and convenience to home, but the overcrowding, electrics, and a pesky resident dog are sadly enough to stop us returning.

Despite classic Bank Holiday weather we still had a great time. The other reviews have said it all really - a great site to get away from it all.

The toilets and shower are basic but good enough and the shower water was always piping hot.

Although the site is beside the canal, you do have to walk across the field and through a gate, so children are safe to roam. Our children - aged 6 & 7 - really liked the site and were happy riding their bikes, feeding the ducks, playing in the woods that border the caravan field (look for the stile hidden in the bushes behind the EHUs) and generally messing about.

This was our first stay on a 5 van site and it has us convinced to try more.

We visited this site for a weekend, we live locally and wanted to get away with friends. We couldn't of been happier with this site. Brian the owner was a lovely man, really helpful and accommodating. The toilet and shower was basic but clean. I would rate this site 10 out of 10 for everything because it was just what we were looking for, however if you want super modern facilities and entertainment for the kids laid on, then it's not for you. We had great fun playing cricket etc on the field and really enjoyed family time. The area was lovely, walking along side the canal in the sunshine was great, there is also a reservoir very close by to walk around, we visited the village of Napton which is also very lovely, although the Folly pub was shut at 5pm on a Saturday! A little odd we thought when at the side of a busy canal. However, if you want relaxing peace and quiet and a friendly host, then look no further, we will definitely be back.
