Lovely friendly site even at busiest time of year wardens Jackie and Paul always have time to make you feel welcome. The site is well kept and has fantastic dog walk.

Had lovely walk into Perranporth from site across pathways and bridle ways without going on busy main road. The site has a play area for children.

The toilet block is always clean. We have stayed there several times a year now for a few years and always enjoy it and will be going back many times in the future.

Would highly recommend site

 Overview:

We like a relaxed family site that has good clean facilities and a friendly atmosphere and Sunny Meadows ticks all the boxes.

The site is well run by the wardens with common sense rules such as evening curfew and no ball games outside the recreational field that ensure all enjoy. The site has stayed in the family and has remained unspoilt in the 10 years we have visited.

We have three children between the ages of 4 and 11 and the site is just right for them to have some freedom without fear of them getting lost or getting into trouble.

Facilities:

The toilet and showers are kept clean on a daily basis. Free hot showers are within a very reasonable overnight fee.

The washing up sinks are kept clean and always good place to have a chat with fellow campers.

There is nice play area for children away from the pitches and countryside walks to Perranporth.

In some fields you will be lucky enough to have services at the back of your pitch. In most areas they are less than 20 yards away.

It is not the site if you want on site entertainment or a swimming pool. However you will not pay the price and not suffer the noise.

Local area:

Its an easy 10 minute drive to numerous local surfing beaches. Don't stick to Perranporth try Crantock, Holywell Bay and Chapel Porth. It is just 20 minutes away from Truro or Newquay. Within 40 minutes you can be on the South coast which is always a good bet on a westerly or northerly wind.

If you like coastal walks check out St Agnes Beacon, Porth Joke and North Cliffs all within 20 minute drive.

We've just returned from 2 weeks at Sunny Meadows and had a very enjoyable stay. As previously stated, the site is a bargain price - school holidays and we only paid £18. 50 per night for our caravan, full awning, EHU, 2 adults and 3 kids (twins aged 15 and a 7 year old). I mention the age of our kids as we have noticed recently that lots of sites seem to consider children reach adulthood at 14 these days (pet hate of mine!) but not Sunny Meadows.

When we arrived after a long and tiring journey, we were greeted by the friendly and efficient warden and directed to our pitch immediately. She very trustingly told us to go and pay the balance of our pitch fee when we were settled which was great as we just wanted to set up and get the kettle on!

When we first visited the 2 toilet blocks, we were a little disappointed to find only 2 showers in each of the male and female sides (making 4 for each in total) but over our 2 week stay we never had to queue but then we do tend to shower either mid morning or quite late at night so that probably helped.

The toilets and showers were quite basic with no privacy cubicles for washing but they were kept very clean throughout our stay. The showers were electric (so constant hot water) with take down hoses so made washing our shower-hating 7 year old much easier as it was easy to regulate the temperature and I could direct the water away from his face.

No pushing a button to keep the water flowing either so good. There were 2 sinks for washing up which wasn't really enough as the site takes tents but we wash up in the caravan anyway so this didn't matter to us.

The launderette only consisted of one washing machine and one tumble dryer which seemed to be in almost constant use so you did have to wait for them sometimes - they could do with establishing some sort of waiting list to make this easier.

We had a lot of rain at night during our stay but the pitch stayed well drained and we didn't have any problems with waterlogging at all. The pitch sizes could have done with being a couple of foot wider but were perfectly adequate and were fairly long. There are rows of trees dividing the different areas of the site which act as effective windbreaks.

The EHU was reliable and we didn't trip the fuses at all which is quite unusual for us as we use a microwave quite a bit.

The on-site play area is good and the warden was very good at making kids return to their own caravans at 10. 30pm and she enforced a 'no-noise' policy after this time so the site was quiet at night. There is also a games room with a pool table and television which is especially good for those in tents.

Also worth a mention is the fact that they have a security barrier that is closed at 10. 30pm and opened at around 8am so if you go out at night and return late, you can't take your vehicle back to your pitch which would be a problem if you were in a Motorhome. There is a 10 acre dog-walking field which leads to interesting local walks too. We don't have a dog but we still enjoyed the dog walk!

Cornwall has now switched to digital TV and the reception using an external aerial was the best we have ever had in our caravan.

The area around is beautiful and the surfing at Perranporth beach is wonderful. There is a well-stocked Londis shop in Goonhavern together with a pub and garden centre which are an easy and pleasant 10 minute walk. The location of Sunny Meadows is ideal as you can get around Cornwall without getting involved in the heavy Newquay traffic.

All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely return to Sunny Meadows next time we visit Cornwall.

I checked this site out whilst I was down here on holiday. There is three fields all 16amp pitches. Nice size pitches, nice loos and showers some had just been revamped. New play equipment for the kids. There a little play room with pool table tv, books etc.

Great site, good facilities, easy access off main road, nearby pub and world in miniature to visit.

At £16 a night high season for caravan, 2 kids, 1 dog and a full awning what a bargain.

I would recommend this site.
