 This is the first time we have visited Sedgefield, and the locals were very friendly and helpful.If you switch your satnav off as soon as you leave the A1, you will find this site easily. On arrival, we were met by the farmer who showed us to our pitch, and explained how all the bits worked on the fully serviced pitch, which included a satellite connection on the service post. The farmer also supplied a full information pack about the area, including a map.
Some people might find the lack of toilet and washing facilities a problem, but we only stayed 3 days and for us it was not a problem. This is after all a CL site. The warden delivered a newspaper to us at 9am every morning with a cheery smile. Sedgefield is only a 15 minute walk away along a traffic free road. This road is gated at both ends, so it really is traffic free. It gives you confidence if you are walking back to the site in the dark.
There are plenty of pubs and eating places in the town. There are also 2 supermarkets,(Sainsburies & Co-op)in the town. There are regular bus services through Sedgefield to surrounding towns and cities. We took in a day at the Sedgefield Races while we were there. When we are in the area again, we would stay at this site again. The owners are really nice people. All this for £10 a night.
