Very accommodating and helpful from my first enquiry, with very quick e-mail replies. The site is great value for money.
We were welcomed by the warden and quickly booked in. The pitches were a good size and our three tents comfortably fit in the area we were given.
The shower block and toilets were clean and tidy, not the newest of facilities, but perfectly adequate.
We were welcomed, as promised, by the residents and visitors at the quiz night in the barn (although we were too late for the weekly bingo)!
The site is set back from the beach, with footpath access down to the shore. It was nice and quiet and would be perfect for a family.
With easy access from the A1 and a supermarket less than 10 minutes away, Thorntonloch made a perfect site for our trip up to Edinburgh. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be going back.

This was our first proper camping trip and we couldn't have picked a better place to start.
The wardens were helpful and always available, the shower blocks were clean and tidy all the time and the site was immaculate.
The beach was right next to the site and the kids enjoyed playing in the rock pools in the evening. There was also a games room which consisted of a pool table which provided a few good laughs. Bingo and Karaoke were on Saturday night which we never made it to due to an uncooperative BBQ!
The tent area was protected from the wind and there was plenty of room.
There is no shop on site but there is a small town a few miles away and a big supermarket which sells everything you may need (including petrol at a good price).
If you want noise, a club house and activities then this is not the site for you.
All in all a fantastic weekend was had by all and the sun was out all weekend for us, who'd have thought you'd get sunburnt in April!
We will definitely be back and stay for longer as 3 nights was not enough.

This was our first visit to this site and we will certainly be back. On arrival we were met by the warden and directed to our pitch, which was a level concrete base with a grass area to put the awning on. The pitch was only yards from the lovely sandy beach. The dog loved it.
The shower blocks were always clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. This is a small well kept site and the 15 touring pitches are spread out among the statics and most overlook the beach.
The town of dunbar is approx 5 miles north, and has every thing you need, as there is nothing on site other than peace and quiet. We stayed for 4 nights but wished it could have been more.

(2 adults & 2 children) This site is right on the beach so is ideal for children. The tent pitches are quite well protected from the wind as they are surrounded by trees but there is a good open area in the middle to play, although the middle area is sometimes used as a car park for the general public who are visiting the beach.
The games room has a snooker table for only 20p per game which is good for entertainment. The toilets were clean and always had paper. However there was no soap for our whole stay - we just used our own.
Dunbar is not far away (5 miles)for a nice day out. There are also good walks nearby. Wardens were very helpful and friendly. We would like to come back and stay again.

Stayed here overnight on the way north. Ideal because it's just off the A1, but just far enough not to be bothered by road noise, in fact despite being full it was a very quiet site. It seems to be mainly statics but those in residence that we met were very pleasant. Daughter loved it because it was right next to a lovely sandy beach.
The facilities are well looked after and the owner / wardens couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
Electric is only 6amp but we didn't find that a problem.
One thing we didn't realise at the time of booking was its proximity to Torness Powerstation but it wasn't something that would put us off returning, which we intend to do for a few more nights next time as it's handy for Dunbar and the train into Edinburgh.

Just back after a weeks holiday this is a great place (family friendly site). My son loved this place because he could play all day at the beach. I would recommend this site to all, toilets clean and tidy. This is a great place if you get good weather, there are some lovely walks round the water and is a great place for dogs. The only down side is there is no park.
Give it a go well worth it.

I cannot say enough about this site, my only problem is it is too far from Yorkshire to visit it more often.
The toilet/Shower blocks are kept clean and are ample for the amount of pitches.
Tents don't have electric hook up
There is a clean and tidy washing up area along with a laundry room.
Kids can play in 2 pool rooms aimed at up to 14yr olds and over 14yr olds.
My kids spent most of our 10 days on the beach.
If they are into cycling there is plenty of space without going near a main road.
Dunbar is only 6 miles away, and Asda is just up the A1.
If you find the sea is too cold Dunbar has a great swimming pool.
We hope to have many more holidays at this campsite.
Warning though If you take bikes on a roof rack make sure you unload them before entering the tent area, there is a 2.1m height barrier
