We have just returned from a fab week at the Station Inn Camping Pods. The Pods are Amazing! Brand new in a lovely setting with lots of room, light and even a patio - great when enjoying a glass of wine. The children loved it - a real adventure. Great not to pitch a tent in the rain. The staff could not have more welcoming, kind and helpful. The pub just a couple of mins from the pods had a great choice of home cooked food sourced from local produce. The steak night -every Friday was the best steak we have even eaten - but it turns out that the owner supplies his own local meat - delicious!
Breakfast is also available at weekends. As well as being a hidden gem as a place to stay the Campsite is also home to a brand new Mountain bike centre - perfect for families. We had a great day out on the bikes - our first time mountain biking. Ben our guide was perfect for us beginners and by the end of the ride we felt like we had mastered a new skill and acquired a brand new hobby as well as being out in the most breathtaking scenery on the Long Mynd. We had a amazing time and would thoroughly recommend the Station Inn as a great place to stay, eat and ride!

Just been to this campsite August Bank Holiday. Very cool welcome and was just told to pitch anywhere that suited. The field was very wet after previous days rain. However, we pitched on a flat piece of ground at the top of the field. We were aware that the toilet facilities were going to be temporary but we found these to be very poor and over the weekend were not kept clean. There was no toilet roll and hand towels on 2 occasions.
The pub was good for the drinks but the food was mid range restaurant prices. There are no lights around the camp ground, the sheep woke us up early in the morning. The roads adjacent are quite busy, there are no safe or suitable walks direct from the site with or without a dog. The railway crossing close by did not disturb us but we were at the far end of the camp ground.

We found this site on the internet and the pod we stayed in looked great,(and it was), the big problem was, they failed to inform us that the on site facilities were not finished and we had to put up with temporary ones. This consisted of a container with 2 toilets a sink and one shower for the ladies and 1 sink, shower, toilet and urinals infront of the open doors with a shower curtain for privacy for the gents. We had to wash-up on the ground getting hot water from the tiny sink via a cup and rinse off using the outside hose which is used for the mtb's, the owners did however offer to do the pots in the pub. I suggested a table outside to make washing up easier but this failed to appear. Cleaning the toilet block was virtually non existent, I saw a wet mop on one occasion but no bucket in sight and the ladies was at one point out of soap, loo roll and paper towels which I had to ask for.
These pods are set into the trees at the side of the pub overlooking the car park, the top ones, 1 & 2 are quite dark from the shade. There's a level crossing next to the pub and trains run every half hour and a busy road with noisy road sweeper early morning, which is quite annoying in a pod never mind a tent.
The pub is lovely and staff are really polite, the food is ok, meats are excellent but microwaved veg aren't tasty, not cheap either.
here was a positive side to this trip, it's a beautiful county, ironbridge and ludlow are gorgeous and so is the nearby town of church stretton, there are fantastic views up carding mill valley and surrounding countryside, excellent for walkers and bikers
