Lovely quiet site. Toilets spotless, a pity the showers weren't a bit larger, not really enough room to get dressed afterwards. Improving the site is ongoing, enlarging pitches and planting flowers and shrubs. Will be great when finished. Indoor and the outdoor pool. Were not open when we were there so cannot comment on them. Chipping Sodbury, a couple of miles away is a lovely market town. Will definitely return in the future for the piece and quiet.

Arrival through the electric gates is not inspiring, then to be met by the warden with a cigarette in hand is not professional or acceptable.
Next comes the 2 pages of site rules which the warden then proceeded to read through and explain. Eventually shown to pitch 12. This site was booked in February so to be shown to a pitch covered in slabs for a touring van with awning is not acceptable. The warden then proceeded to tell us that you can put an awning up on slabs. There was no way we were accepting this pitch so eventually were offered a super pitch.
This pitch was next to the toilet block but we had no other choice other than to have our money back and leave. There was no form of screening between the pitch and toilet block so spent the weekend with the van blinds closed. The wooden decking outside the toilet block is also noisy at night along with banging doors. The site in the past has been used for mainly sited seasonal pitches so the majority of pitches have either slabs or areas of concrete - no good for awnings. The few pitches that have been updated have no privacy are small and close together we only had a small porch awning you would struggle to get a full size awning on a pitch. If you don't have a motor mover you won't get onto most of the pitches and please don't put a car wheel on the grass.
The site is advertised as tranquil - road noise, dogs barking at the nearby kennels all day and night (we had our own dog with us so not anti dog) then the shot gun fire all day from the gun club make the site far from tranquil.
The advertised free wifi didn't work there was even a camper van with its mains power lead run across the road to the power point not exactly safe
The site has not lost its private club feeling and is not welcoming. If you want heat in your awning or tent electric heaters are banned you have to use gas heaters. You also can not have a barbecue at your pitch but have to use a communal one.
We were so unhappy With the site we wish we had accepted our money back when we arrived and ended up leaving early
Would not recommend and definitely will never return

We visited this site over the Easter Weekend and once through the less than appealing front gate we were received with a warm welcome from the owners.
Immediately I began to feel at home, realising that things were familiar. In a strange sort of way. The penny soon dropped, as I used to help out when my son went camping with the cubs, and this site reminds me of a very well tended scout camp, only missing the 'weather stone on a string' as a final flourish.
The owners have run the site for 17 years, 15 of which, as a Naturist hang out, but apparently the bottom fell out of the naturist business, so they decided to market the site at us 'textiles'. There are a significant number of seasonal pitches, occupied by folk who have been visiting the site for many years, these visitors form part of a social network with the owners, and seem to play a large part in organising the camp entertainment.
The site was well manicured, but the touring pitches are too small and access roars too narrow for today's units and even with a motor mover there is a risk of catching the van on the strategically placed 'markers' to protect the grass from unwanted tyre marks. On our pitch this was a dead tree trunk with projecting spikes. The curving drive is also lined with plant pots that seem to have no other function but to act as a warning, should you be heading within a foot of the lawns with your caravan.
Apart from the shower block the rest of the buildings are rather 'careworn' and personally feel the site would benefit from their removal. (The couple of old prefabs forming the main function room just begs for demolition, in my opinion)
I feel that the owners need to recognise that they are in the hospitality business, and it is a business. They appear not to be able to differentiate between guests in their own home, and guests on their site, their rules are no more onerous than those of the Caravan Club, but the way that they are flagged up with little hand written signs and notes does tend to wear one down a little.
On the plus side the shower block was immaculately clean.

Positives and negatives for this site.
Site is very clean and well cared for, toilet and shower block is impressive and immaculate.
A minor heath and safety issue would be in the laundry/washing room. For the duration of our stay an oil filled radiator was connected to the mains via an extension cable. The reel was placed on the draining board and the flex was running across the sink.
Upon arrival we were allowed to choose our pitch and got set up, then site owner complains we have a utility tent and didn't tell them. Fair point, but they didn't ask us whether we had one either but we were made to feel as though we had been untruthful. Then for then rest of our stay site owner continued to remind us we owed her money for the tent. She even knocked on the door and asked for the money we owed her!
The main issue for us though is the facility's were all closed. In the two page rule book you are given upon arrival it does state in the off season the outdoor pool will not be open but does not mention the indoor one at all. As we booked this site based on its website which again doesn't explain the the pools are not open but it does tell you that the pool fees are all included in the site fees.
Therefore we have paid for use of the indoor pool which from the website and all other information we were given should have been open except we can't use it.
When I point this out to site owner they argued the point. I don't expect to have to argue with anybody when on holiday. If website says it's there, it should be there. When I've paid for it, I should be able to use it.
Basic trade description!
I would not recommend this site to anybody based on our treatment during our stay, we will never return.

Found this site on UKCampsite website when we wanted a site that was peaceful without screaming children or barking dogs. Don't get me wrong we do not mind well behaved children but not many are. Anyway, we arrived at Little wood site and was instantly impressed by how well kept it is and how friendly and welcoming the owners (who run the site) are.
We continued to have a lovely week and used the indoor and outside facilities. They mad us and our two sons and girlfriend feel most welcome.
We would definitely recommend and will be returning when work permits.

We are not frequent campers so don't have much to compare with, however, we found this site really excellent. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and available to answer any questions but also respected your privacy. We had a large tent pitch with electric hook up. The site is beautifully clean and well kept. The toilet and shower block was immaculate and the shower cubicles were spacious with plenty of hot water (not always the case with some other campsite we've been on). Lots of facilities on site including a swimming pool which was clean and great to have a refreshing swim in. The site was fairly busy but it was still peaceful and quiet. Only downside I could say is that there is no pub within walking distance, however it is only 2 or 3 miles to Chipping Sodbury which has a good high street with some nice pubs and restaurants.

Little Wood is a very well kept site, the grass is constantly being mowed and hedges clipped, and is very quiet. It has all the facilities it advertises but they are all somewhat tired, and need updating. The main difficulty however is the size of the pitches. The majority of the pitches are for seasonal caravans and these are quite large, but those for touring vans are very small for today’s vans and cars. The owners admit the site has been in existence for over 40 years (previously as a private members club) and struggles to cope with the bigger vans and 4x4’s of today. We could not have got onto our pitch without a motor mover and the car was “just” on the pitch, I am not sure how twin axles would cope. There are trees and hedges on site, positioned to make moving around with the caravan on, quite a driving skills test! Two other things to be aware of: the owners prefer you to pay in cash when you arrive for your total stay, they do not accept cards at all and the TV reception is quite poor. At £25 per night in high season with electric and an awning, you need to use the facilities to get your money’s worth!

Warm welcome, the owners were happy to accommodate our needs, very clean and well kept site, until you put a foot wrong, like driving on to the grass just a few inches to reverse on to your pitch, and then you feel like a very very naughty schoolchild. Motor movers needed for most pitches or you will never get on your pitch. Never used the pool or other facilities just in case we did something wrong !
Would not visit this site again, we left a day early as felt we were a burden to them.

After spending 2 days at this site I felt I had to say something about it on entering the site the owners met me and after about 3 minutes I felt I had known them for years they were so helpful showed me to my pitch and chatted for some time. I walked the site and as stated in previous reviews the facilities were fantastic the site layout with low hedges between pitches and trees all around the perimeter, pitches were tidy sizes the toilets and showers were great and clean there were numerous things to do as stated in other reviews, the outside pool had room around it for sunbathing get warm drop into pool just like the med the clubhouse didn't have a bar but you could take your own drinks.
I went into Chipping Sodbury 2 miles away lovely old market town plenty bars and restaurants and went to Yate again 2 miles away fantastic shopping centre.
Don't normally return to sites for a couple of months but I will be returning in a few weeks and looking forward to returning

Just returned from a long weekend at Little Wood Caravan Park. What an amazing site! Hilary and Alan are friendly and welcoming. The site is a credit to them, immaculate in all aspects. With an indoor and outside pool, mini golf, a room with darts, pool facilities and adult only you don't find any better. Pitches are generous in size and fully serviced if required. We will be returning and are considering a seasonal pitch.
