Just got back from a very relaxing weekend. I've got to tell you about this little gem of a site. On arrival we were met by Alan who directed me to are pitch showed us where the toilets and wash area was the toilets and shower are mixed, but Alan said he was going to get more built in the future.
At £12 per night it was bang on, you have to pay for you electric, but we only used a £1. There's two part to this site one is round the fishing pond which we picked because me and my wife fish. This is a very animal friendly site all the birds have been rescued (turkeys chickens guinea fowl) and many more it was a delight to see them happy running round free. The pitches are on grass and cut regular. We caught tench hide and carp l cached one of Alan big carp a good 12lb l thought that made my day but while talking to Alan l noticed he was a red robin Hull supporter as l was from Castleford
So he invited me and my wife to watch the rugby in his house on the Friday and Saturday know that's what l call being a host Can'wait to go back longer this time. Thanks again Alan, from Eddie and Ann

Spent a very nice weekend here after visiting the Swift factory in Cottingham.
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Site is very clean and tidy. We thought it was very good value at 12 pounds per night. You pay separately for the electricity if you use it. Local shops are only 5 mins away.
It was our first visit to this part of the world and we were quite impressed. We enjoyed our trip into Hull. Excellent museums (including a deep sea trawler) which are free to visit.
We will return again.

Originally we visited this site for 4 nights and stayed for 5.
Lovely well kept site with good facilities and very welcoming owners, couldn't do enough for you. The pitch we had had it's own water supply and you could let your waste water run into the hedge bottom, so if you have a long waste water pipe it is worth taking. Electricity is on a prepaid card, which means you only pay for what you need. A very good idea.
Handy for Hull and the surrounding area. Visited Burton Constable Hall, a lovely house, worth a visit. Coast easily accessible.
Would recommend a stay here, good fishing, beautiful lake, all surrounded by open countryside. Just a little noise from the road, but mainly at peak times.

This is a delightful small site a few miles from Hull and the East coast. The hosts are very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The facilities are very sound, with free showers and clean toilets etc. The site is quiet, but with animals (inc. Free range chickens) and fishing.
There is a 2 hourly (approx) bus service to and from Hull which stops outside the gate. Hull is well worth a visit. We especially enjoyed the tour on the Arctic trawler, but all the museums are top class.
We will return and our son hopes to go fishing there in the near future.

I visited this site for a projected three night stay on the last weekend of November 2012. The site is a relatively new one and as such there were none of the usual brown coloured camping signs which normally guide campers in the right direction of nearby campsites, this was not a problem, I had the foresight to carry the telephone number of the site with me and the owner, Alan, was more than helpful in guiding me in, as it was I was only about 1 mile away. The site is situated off of the main road, behind the owners bungalow and outbuildings.
It has a fair sized man made lake, which I am assured is around the 3 foot depth. This lake appears to be the pride and joy of Alan and during my stay was regularly fished and produced. There are no hard standings, which for me in a motorhome, was a bit of a worry. The supply of electricity is controlled from the bungalow and is purchased separately to the camping fees. There is a shower, sinks and toilets available, with unlimited hot water. Hens, Cockerels, Turkeys and rabbits roam free over the site.
There is a regular Bus service which will stop outside the site entrance for transport to and from Hull if required. The weather during my stay was extremely wet and as such the ground became soggy around the site. My only gripe was that at full capacity, the Toilet/Shower facilities may become stretched. I hope to return in better weather for a spell of fishing in the lake.

Just stayed at this gorgeous site. Had to get a new skylight in Beverley, so booked here for a couple of nights. Wow! Wish we could have stayed longer. It was so beautiful. The rescue animals and wildlife were lovely. Rabbits, ducks and coots, etc. There was Tom the turkey, who could hardly walk because he had been bred to become massive. He liked to waddle up and stand listening to people chatting. My friend said, 'If he comes over here I'll say 'Bernard Matthews', so they didn't let him out while we were there. She was only joking and it certainly didn't deter the chickens from visiting us, even when she said, 'Kentucky fried chicken'. Then there was 'Hitler' the cockerel (that'll give you a clue).
However, the owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Amazingly, we were charged tent price because our Romahome was small. How nice to find owners who actually love their place and don't just see it as a business. And I'm not surprised that they love it and keep it immaculately.
The fair-sized fishing lake surrounded by lovely plants, had an attractive bridge to walk across. There was a shed with kettle for campers who didn't have full facilities and a freezer for ice blocks. The shower room was clean, with plenty of hot water and automatic lights.
All-in-all a perfect place and we can't wait to go back.

Just spent a week at Spring Vally camp site and I have to say what a fab time we had. The owners bent over backwards to help us we turned up as we thought without tent pegs and the owners provided us with some. The toilet block and shower room was always clean and tidy and the washing up area was too. Have to say I loved the chickens and the rabbits walking about. Nice quiet spot with shops and pubs just a short ride away. Will be going back there again.

We visited this site for a week end of august. The site is very clean. My husband enjoyed the fishing. The owners are very helpful and pleasant and made our stay very welcoming despite the weather. Would definitely go again.
Within easy reach of hull city centre, withensey, and also beverley. The deep is worth a visit and do try the stags head for a meal, value for money and well cooked. Also jones butchers in preston village good and old fashioned, excellent.

Super friendly site, owner very helpful and friendly could not do enough for us. We really enjoyed our stay, and we were so amused with the chickens; turkeys and rabbits running around freely, but be aware of the manic cockerel, can not wait to return. Well worth a visit certainly if you like fishing the lake is well stocked, clean toilets and shower and plenty of places to visit in area if you wish or just enjoy the peace and quite a few nice pubs in the area which offer food at reasonable rates thank you to for your help

Located 'in the dip' just outside of Preston, Hull, this quiet and secluded campsite is ideally placed for visiting relatives and friends in Hedon and Preston and Bilton.
The campsite itself is discrete, small, relatively flat and beautifully maintained over looking a lovely lake.
The stable block with its curious and inquisitive free range inhabitants of rescued chickens and one turkey was a truly delightful surprise and the rabbit hutch should really be described as palatial.
There is an outside sink with hot water cylinder available for pot washing - but it is not under cover.
The toilet/shower block looked new and was kept very clean. The lights in the block are motion detectors, which meant that every so often you would find yourself in pitch blackness. However, we had head torches to overcome that difficulty.
Flip flops are recommended if you want to take a shower. There was no shower curtain and no mop - so we ended up paddling around in cold water after our showers.
In addition to an electronic buzzer that announced people coming onto the site there was also a very bright security light controlled by movement situated at the top of the barn. We found this very useful on our walk from the tent to the toilet block.
Electric hook up is available. But otherwise there didn't seem to be anywhere to plug in hairdryers or straighteners or a place to recharge phones etc.
All in all, a delightful site and one which we will definitely be returning to again in the very near future.
