I endorse all the comments made before. The site caretakers Chris and Judy were most pleasant and helpful. The showers and toilets were immaculate and lovely and warm. The CL site is quite small with 16 amp electric and individual water supply on each grass pitch. We did not use the pub but gather that it is very good and only a 15 minute walk down the towpath. In addition to the CL there is a separate site with 10 hardstandings each with its own electric and water bollard. The price for both sites is £15 per night. All in all a very good site. The only downside is that you can't check in till 2pm and have to check out by 11. 30am.

As per other reviewers really, THE BEST toilet/showers I've used, better than any CC site I've seen.
Good scenic location, access roads problematic when faced with the many tractors who use them, very pleasant wardens, short drive to Lichfield, three hours parking in Tesco. A couple of good National Trust properties not far away, Moseley Old Hall was excellent.
I didn't sleep at all well, the A38 is a 24/7 background nuisance, coupled with the occasional high speed train nearby too!
The next time I go, I'll take some earplugs, but I would go again.

Great 5 pitch site good freeview reception need pitches nearest canal for sat reception, as previously mentioned toilet facililities are excellent and you get a key on arrival. Martin and John keep the site in excellent condition and the grass pitchs look as though they would drain well during wet weather. Access is via a narrow lane and you have to be careful on approach to the site as the locals drive very quickly. The A38 can be heard at night but the noise is not intrusive
You can walk along the canal to the Plough and beyond but to walk to Lichfield along those lanes could be risky. Lichfield city centre is 3 miles away and it has all the shops and pubs you could possibly want, tesco superstore and aldi on the edge of city centre. There is absolutely nothing for kids on site and with the canal and the boat marina I would think twice before taking younger children.

We stayed at Kings Orchard for a night on our way back to Scotland from France. It was a perfect stop over point distance wise and we had an added benefit of meeting up with our parents on their narrow boat. Indeed we camped the opposite side of the hedge from their boat on the canal. The site is new and the facilities excellent; clean, spacious and close to the small area for camping. Having booked just the day before we found Martin and his wife, the on-site managers extremely helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

Kings Orchard is a really nice place to stay, based within the marina grounds on a small area of grass but with plenty of room for the five pitches each with its own 16amp hook up and water tap, the toilet/shower rooms of which there are four are first class with a separate washing up facility, the site is quite new with plenty of nice landscaping, well lit at night and well looked after by Martin and co, a leisurely stroll along the canal tow path bring you to a delightful pub The Plough serving great food and drink, I would think that in wet weather the ground would cut up a bit but I personally would not be put off by that and shall certainly be returning quite soon.
