We stayed at Yew Tree Park for 2 nights in August. On arrival the man was very helpful and our pitch was lovely and flat and you could get a peg in the ground (quite a rare thing these days).

We didn't use the pool but the pub was only 100 yards away although it is very expensive. The shower cubicles were tiny with no lighting and the coin slot was outside on the wall which was a bit strange as if you run out of time you have to exit cubicle to put more money in.

As for the no noise policy. We had a small tent pitched next to us and they chatted until 4.20 am on Friday night and 1.55am Saturday night !

With no shop on site and nothing close its not a site we will be returning to although its very well kept.

We visited this site twice in 2009, and are looking forward to going back at some point!

Lovely site, well kept and well laid out.

Lovely Pub just 2 minutes walk from the front gate, which serves lovely home cooked grub!

The farm shop about 2 miles up the road (CT4 5NT) towards Canterbury has some lovely produce, great butcher meat, fantastic for the BBQ.

Our only criticism is paying for the showers.

We never used the pool, so cannot comment!

(on another note, we like to park up when we are away and not use the car, unless you are a proper walker (ie, going cross country) there is not really anywhere to walk to).

We stayed here for the week in the middle of August, during the only decent weather of the summer.

Good points.

Very well maintained with unmarked roomy pitches.

Quiet at night.

Icecream van visited at weekends.

Friendly owners.

Spotless toilets and showers even when the site was full.

Beautiful countryside.

Excellent park and ride in Canterbury.

Lovely pool.

Negatives.

(Only a few points,)

Toilets/showers a little dark.

Freezer room closed at 8.30pm which was inconvenient if late back from a day out.

10 minute drive to local shop and nothing available on site.

Ground was quite hard when banging in tent pegs.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Our unit is quite large and it was a pleasure to have plenty of room. We especially enjoyed looking at the stars, at night, without any light pollution.

I would recommend this site.

We have just stay at Yew Tree what can I say it was a great stay there. The Showers were always hot the swimming pool was fantastic for the kids really clean. The site it self was well maintained the showers and toilet where cleaned every 4 hour, the pitches where a good size and the owners where always there to help you.Would go back next year. There is a lot to do in Canterbury so this site is well located to get around, there is a pub just 2 min walk which serves great food and the prices are good as well

Nice site, safe for the children and they made plenty of friends.

There were strict times when reception was open - first thing in morning and at end of the day.

Play area is really only for toddlers. Pool was a huge let down - had a gorgeous bank holiday weekend weather-wise with temp hitting 28 degrees and my kids were happily swimming in the sea at Broadstairs beach (fab beach), however, the 'heated' swimming pool on-site was so cold that hardly any adults could bear to be in it and children could not bear it for more than a few minutes and came out shivvering. I queried this with the owner but he shrugged it off saying the weather over the previous week had been cooler and had let the pool cool down.

Showers gave 4 mins hot water per 20p. Having just visited other sites where hot water was either limited or 7 mins for 20p, this felt tight. The water in the washing up area was not hot at all.

We were pleased to find a pub just outside the campsite - very friendly and good food - but be warned - no food Sunday eves or bank hol Monday (think this might be every Monday).

Will go back to this beautiful area of the country but not this site.

Really lovely camp site, very helpful owners. Nothing too much trouble.

Pool lovely, yes a bit chilly but not as cold as the sea!

The pub nearby (Chequers) is amazing, the food was superb and the owner a really nice London chap.We will certainly be returning to this very well run site. Thank you (the only reason I havent rated is 10/10 is because I think the site would benefit from a shop or a delivery of bread/ milk.

We've been back again after visiting this site at the beginning of the month. It seemed much busier this time around but still clean & there was never a queue for the showers & plenty of hot water at all times.

The freezer room is free to use and a great idea for re freezing your freezer blocks or getting frozen food etc. to store during your stay! It's only available during high season though.

There were a lot more children this time around & they all seemed to congregate at the children's playground at the end of the day! But by 10 they had all dispersed & the site was fairly quiet after that! The older ones were either playing footie or on bikes!

We used the pool this time around, it is supposed to be heated but be aware it's very cold! Think it may rely more on the sun to heat it although you can feel the heaters around the poolside as you swim round it, took a good 10 minutes to get use to it as it was cold, one little girl had purple lips at one point as she was cold! it was perfect for cooling off as the temp was 23 degrees! So on really really hot days cool off in the pool!

Looking forward to next visit!

We arrived around midday on the Saturday of the Bank holiday weekend. The site is spotless, with well laid out pitches. Gently sloping and spacious. Very quite at night after 10pm even though it was full. Small children’s play area and an outdoor swimming pool which opens from the end of May. There are a few static caravans scattered around the swimming pool area. The toilets and showers are also spotless. Our only complaint is the shower system. I do not object to paying the 20p however, in the men’s showers you have to leave the cubicle in order to ‘feed’ the meter which does not give 4 mins as stated. By the time you have adjusted the water flow to obtain the correct temperature, valuable time has been lost. The showers are also fairly dark inside. There were numerous people complaining about this system. The walk from the site to the village of Petham is excellent and there is a pub literally outside the park. We didn’t eat there but other reviews are positive. No shop on site and the nearest place for milk/bread is Canterbury. I would recommend this site.

We phoned the Thursday before the bank holiday and they could fit us in which was a surprise, when we got there on the Friday afternoon the site was full.

The welcome was friendly and helpful, the site itself was impressively clean all the weekend and considering it was full very quiet at night.

Some of the bike rides through the country lanes were stunning.

On the Saturday night we had dinner in the Chequers Inn next to the site entrance. Don't let the look of the outside and the 70's decor put you off, the landlord was warm and welcoming and the food was good.

20p for a 4 minute shower is a bit mean and the shower didn't seem to stay hot for 4 minutes. Didn't try the pool, bit to cold for that.

No shop on site or within walking distance.

All in all a great site and would recommend to anyone, a credit to the owners.

Returned today from camping here for 2 nights. Owners were friendly nothing was too much trouble! Showers & toilet block very clean. Just remember 20p's for shower & hairdrier! Washing up area & laundry room spotlessly clean.
We have a 3 year old & she enjoyed using the little play area. Lot's of different nationalities enjoying a bank holiday break! The children all seemed to have the same interest. Football & it was lovely to see them all playing together. Lots of laughter! There is a pub 5 mins walk away although we did not eat there they looked like they had a lot to offer!
Directions to supermarkets n opening times are displayed in a tourist info area which is very helpful. Did not use pool as it was not open but it looked lovely & will hopefully be returning soon! Only downside was that fridge n freezer are only available to use in high season so remember the cool bag and ice blocks if you go outside of high season! The owners will refreeze your blocks for you!
Overall very enjoyable stay & looking forward to going back. Wildlife parks etc within a few miles & the owners have lots of different leaflets for you to use, also bus times, walk routes etc displayed ! Thanks for a lovely stay!
