Just returned from a four night stay at this campsite as a base for exploring central London.
The campsite is easy to find and good instructions can be found on the website.
Travelling into central London wasn't too difficult. At weekends we found it better to travel to the next junction of the M25 and park at Cockfosters tube station carpark and tube straight into the centre. During weekdays this carpark is very busy as commuters use it and if you arrive outside peak hours (after 9.00am) you run the risk of not been able to park. With this in mind, it is easy to use the bus from Cambridge Road (about 5 minutes drive and walk from site with free parking -ask the wardens for directions)to Turnpike Lane tube station and then get on the tube into central London.
Generally this is a good campsite with friendly and helpful wardens although in my opinion a couple of things let it down. The site office is not open all day (not really a problem unless you want emergency supplies of milk etc) and the toilet block although always clean, was basically a portaloo and the surrounding area was uneven and not well lit at night time. Apart from this I would recommend this site and will most probably return next year.

Stayed for 2 nights.
Very warm welcome on arrival and because we were fairly early arriving we were allowed to choose our pitch.
Although we had a map and directions it was (very) easy to miss the approach road - not well signposted!
Site is fairly flat, has a mixture of grass pitches and hard standings. There is no motorhome service area, so we had to carry our 'grey' water off site. Not a huge problem.
Portacabin facilities block caused raised eyebrows but they were spotless, although the power generators had a few hiccups while we were there.
Evident noise from nearby M25 not a problem in a motorhome, but could have been intrusive for those in tents.

We both think that this is an excellent site. Though it is close to the M25 it is fairly quiet with only a low pitched hum 24/7. We were greeted by the Warden who was a mine of information, and who took us to our pitch for the week. The toilets looked grim but were in spotless condition. We took our dog who enjoyed the dog-walks and attempting to chase the rabbits.
Our only complaints were that the campsite should have been more plainly sign-posted from the main A10 and there were two quite big and deep pot-holes on the lane from the M25 bridge (which OK were not the site's fault and had been reported but still gave my suspension a fair whack).

The site was easy to find with a printable map from the Caravan and Camping Club site. Quick and efficient check in and then we were taken to a pitch near the small play area so my 7 yr old could be independent.
Facilities were all very clean and well signposted. There is work going on around the site and some areas are fenced off, but there was no work going on when we were there (Saturday and Sunday). Very quiet, green and flat.

Stayed here for three nights whilst visiting friends close by. Site was clean (despite building works on site). Toilets and showers were also cleaned to a high standard.
Site warden was very helpful and assisted me with pitching our caravan. I am a light sleeper and heard the traffic on nearby M25 but it didn't bother my wife. Papers and essentials were available on site and overall it was a nice site to visit.

We stayed here for 3 nights as we had a family wedding in the area and just needed a base en route to our main 2 weeks holiday.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful. We were initially a bit disappointed to see that the toilets and showers were in portacabins but they were actually better than some permanent facilities that we've come across. They were kept clean at all times and we never had to queue to use them.
As mentioned before, there were lots of rabbits around and the site is peaceful, despite being so close to the M25.
Only negative for us was that the barrier is locked late in the evening so we had to carry our young son from the carpark to our caravan when we arrived back from the wedding at around midnight. We understand that this is for the benefit of other site users and don't disagree with it - just thought it worth a mention.
All in all, this site was just what we needed and we would use it again.

We stayed for two nights at the site as a base for visiting central London.
We were very pleased with the site. The toilets and showers were very clean and pleasant to use. It was very handy for the M25 and although you can hear the traffic it did not keep us awake and was not a problem.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
For travelling to central London we tried two options, one was recommended by the warden and that was to drive from the site one junction anti clockwise on the M25 and then to Cockfosters Tube. This is just under 10 miles about 20 mins. There is a NCP carpark at the station but very little other parking we got a space but there were very few left. It costs about £3.80 per day.
The other option we tried was to drive to Turkey Street Railway Station in Enfield. This is about 2 miles drive and there is plenty of free on street parking within half a mile of the station. This is a National Express overground train service.
Both these options are covered by London Transport travelcard zones 1-6.
There may be other better options. If so please put them on this site.

Myself and 3 other families booked this site for the Easter weekend on a recommendation from someone who visited last season and said it was a great friendly site. It seems that the owners/managers of this site have changed and it was a great inconvenience to them to have people coming to camp on their site or at least that is how they made you feel. Firstly we arrived slightly early and were told in a very unfriendly tone that we would not be permitted onto site until 12 noon. This was not a problem as we were only 45 mins early and were happy to wait. We were then told by the manager that he would site us 'to get us out of the way'. He then spent the next 10 minutes complaining about us being 'wannabies'. Apparently he had a long list of requests from campers due to arrive and he referred to these requests as wannabies. He stated to us that we 'wanna be together' whilst others 'wanna be near the toilet'. He complained about caravans wanting to be sited near the toilet stating that they didn't want to make their own toilets dirty!
Anyway we were sited in the farthest corner of the site as our punishment for wanting to pitch near each other. He then told us about the site rule of 6 metres apart which wasn't a problem as there was plenty of space but just as he departed he states that 'if we were not 6 metres apart he would wait until we had pitched and then we would be back to make us move the tents'! Truly unbelievable.
The toilet blocks were lovely and clean and on the first morning it was lovely and warm due to a fan heater on the wall which we switched on due to having my 5 year old daughter in the shower and the fact that it was decidely chilly outside. The weather was dismal all weekend. When the lady manager of the site visited the toilet she was very cross that we had turned on the heater and stated that it should not be on at all. The next morning when we went for a shower the heaters in both the ladies and gents shower blocks and toilets were not working - the fuses had been removed! When we complained to the site management about this they told us that someone camping on the site had thieved the fuses - what a coincidence.
Quite a few people by then had complained about the fact that the heaters were not working and to be fair the managers did put the fuses back for the next morning but by this time we really had had enough and if it wasn't for the fact that our tents were soaking we would have packed up and gone home!
In general the management on the site were rude and very unhelpful. I will certainly not be visiting there again until the camping and carvanning club find a new management team for the site.

We stayed here over night as we only live a little way away, we stayed as a night away for my birthday.
We found the park to be friendly and very laid back.
We were allowed to pitch right in front of the play area, which was perfect with our toddler, there were lots of bunnies hopping about and the children thought it was fantastic.
You would never believe it is so close to the M25 as you really don't hear the traffic.
We found it very peaceful sitting under our canopy in the evening once the children had gone to bed with a glass of wine, minimal lighting so as not to disturb you but plenty around the toilet/ shower blocks.
Toilets/showers were very clean and warm also has a small laundry room which is handy.
I would recommend this site it was just perfect for us with not much to do so the children made their own fun which is exactly what camping is about for us.
All local pubs have been tested by hubby nad he said all were friendly

Just returned from a 2 night break at at Theobalds. It was our first camping trip and decided to go here to test out new tent and gear as only up the road.
All in all a nice tidy little site. The showers and toilets were cleaned daily and in very good order.
Small swings / slide for the kids and a few nice pubs all within walking distance.
Loads of bunny rabbits for the littluns to look out for.
We arrived early and were let straight on site with a pick of pitches
