This isn't one of the best run Haven sites we have been to. The pitches are crammed together so much that the guy ropes overlap. The showers and toilets are poorly designed - too small, with the doors opening inwards. There is no indoor play area and the outdoor play area is a mixture of bark and mud. Kids feet get filthy. There is no splash zone. On the plus side it is a short bus ride from Edinburgh and there are nice castles etc. in the area. The entertainment area is ok but packed at night. When you drive back to the campsite you know you are going in the right direction when you see the chimneys of Cockensie power station. Brian

Booked this site via internet due to cheap price for 7 nights only £46.80. Touring park only OK. All grass pitches and very uneven and vans very close to each other. Toilets were well cleaned but showers and cubicles on small side! As you expect on these British Holiday sites entertainment and leisure facilities excellent and the chipshop on site must be one of the best we have ever tasted and local Chinese takeaway brilliant too! Great location for touring area and for getting into Edinburgh with plenty buses running from site entrance. All in all we had great week but missed Caravan Club standards.

We have just spent 4 nights in TROON19 a static gold, we thought we would have a change from our trailer tent. What a great time we had, visited Edinburgh by train, Britannia yacht and a lovely place called North Berwick. the site had all you could need, we choose to travel out during the days, cycling in the evening. We went into the showbar 2 nights, fantastic entertainment, although you do have to walk through the amusements to get in. We had a drink in the terrace bar also had a meal which was OK, good value. There is a chip shop on site open 12 hours a day plenty of people seemed to use it. There is a fantasic bus service every 15 mins to Edinburgh until vary late. We enjoyed Seaton Sands and would go again.

We have taken our trailer tent to this park twice this year. We love it. The park is spotless and the toilet and shower block clean and secure. All that separates the campsite from the beach is a small road so its ideal for beach lovers. The staff are all very friendly and helpful especially the park keeper who takes you personally to your pitch. There is a chip shop, general shop (which is reasonable) as well as a good playpark for the kids. Definetly worth a visit!

Lovely site. Unfortunate that a previous reviewer had problems with static, but we took our tourer and had a fantastic week. All of the fun of a larger Haven site, but with smaller facilities (OK out of school holidays, but I would imagine it being a bit cramped at peak times). Funstars were great at the childrens entertainment and my 2 year old daughter loved meeting all of the Haven characters with plenty of cuddles.
Site was kept clean with litter collectors walking around every day and the grass kept tidy. Toilets spotless although free showers did get a bit hot. Beach opposite not up to much but a better one a couple of minutes walk/few hundred yards up the road & a brill view over the Firth of Forth. Will definitely visit again. Only gripe was the mention in brochure of an indoor soft play area which, when we eventually found it, turned out to be a few foam shapes in a 10ft sq 'padded cell' corner of the amusement arcade.

The site is run by British Holidays who have sites all over the country. We have stayed on three British Holiday sites so far and found them ideal for fun filled, family orientated holidays. Lots of entertainment laid on during the day and in the evenings but not the type of holiday if you like a quiet, relaxing "kids free" sort of site :o). We stayed in a static caravan (left the trailer tent at home!) and thoroughly enjoyed the extra space and "home comforts" that it brings. Heating in all rooms, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, shower, TV, etc. Prices vary depending on the time of year that you stay, and for every holiday that you have with British Holidays, you are given "points" which you can use to reduce the cost of your next stay with them.
They also have special prices for holidays taken towards the end of the season. For example, the holiday we have just had with them cost us £46 which included £8 optional insurance! That was for two adults, two children, all gas, electric and club passes for five days. Obviously the entertainment isn't "top class" because it's nearing the end of the season but, hey, £46!
The site overlooks the Firth of Forth but the beach isn't any thing to write home about, still it blows the cobwebs away! Facilities on the site include: Indoor pool, children's clubs, wooded play area, sports courts for tennis etc., fish shop, restaurant, shop and newsagents, various bars/clubs, games rooms, amusements etc. This site also caters for tourers. Again prices vary depending on what time of year you stay. £4/£8 in low season to £10/£14 in high season. There's also an extra £2 p/p p/n for anyone over 4 years. This covers the cost of your passes for the on site clubs/entertainment. All of the above mentioned facilities are available including shower/toilet blocks, washing up facilities, laundrette, electric hook up etc. Pets are also welcome
