 I have just returned from this site - I can describe in one word the site facilities 'poor'.
Smallish quiet site which is ok about 50 pitches I would say, all looking tired as reviewer pointed out electric & water points can be a fair distance away.
WC's, shower block & chemical waste & washing up area. 2 mens 2 womens showers 40p token are available from the owner when he's around which is not that often it took 2 days to get some and for that you get a very limited amount of time.
WC's 2 mens 3 womens with very little ventilation and due the limited number of them they get dirty very quickly when the site is busy, plus there is no heating in them, basically they are in need of refurbishment urgently, also there is only one sink for washing up and one chemical waste area.
The main complaint is that there is one block and all these facilities are located near the entrance which is a fair walk which is certainly not adequate for a modern site.
They have added recently a small play area located near the entrance by the main road with no soft landing if the kids fall of the climbing frames.
Other issues
No security
Lack of staff
Pitches on slope and hard to get pegs into.
This could be a lovely site in a great location if facilities were upgraded and management showed a little more interest.

Stayed here over the Easter break. Site was full but not noisy. Site was OK nothing to complain about but seemed a bit measured. Pitches just enough space but no more. Showers (token operated) on, wet, soap, rinse,off, just enough time to get clean and theer were only two each so always a queue. Dish washing water warm enough to clean plates but not any hotter than got to be.
That said the site was clean, bins emptied regularly, toilets / showers cleaned twice daily.
Had laundry room: washing machine £3, tumble dryer £1
Spar shop, petrol station (sells calor gas) and village shop all close by.
Take some strong pegs for your awning as pitches are HARD standing.
No play area, well one swing by reception! But there is a little stream to paddle in.
Hookups grouped together so you could end up having your lead run over.
Would visit again if we were in the area.

Just got back home on the 25th after what can only be described as the best visit to the Barmouth area as of yet and been hitting campsites at least 8 times a year for last six years. this site is very very clean, lots of hot water, 2 washing machines and dryers, showers are very good and lots of hot water again a slight slope on camping area but no probs , ground drains very fast, there is a small stream that runs along side camp. the elctric if you need is also for your use and water is no more than 50yrds to carry. the site owners are very friendly and full of knoledge of local area, All in all this must be the top site in the area.
