Stayed recently for one night whilst travelling back home from Outer Hebrides.
Arrived to find our pitch marked with our name so parked up and owner visited later to welcome us. Very friendly owner gave us info pack on surrounding area and pointed out where everything was. Pitches very spacious hardstanding with electric, fresh water tap and TV aerial connection.
As only stayed one night can't comment on area but did walk to beach approx 400m with the dog. Would have liked to stay longer and would definitely stay again if in the area. Would recommend to anyone prepared to use van's own facilities.
Good value at £12 per night.

We have recently returned from a fantastic stay at this beautifully laid out CL. All the pitches are hard standing and have their own electric and fresh water supply. You can park facing anyway on the pitch - we went on forwards to enjoy the view of the Benderloch Hills. You park your car opposite your pitch which is great. The owner is extremely friendly, greeting us on our arrival with a welcome pack full of information on things to do in the local area. We were fortunate to have great weather and there was nothing nicer than sitting outside the van first thing in the morning in the sun with a brew! A short walk takes you to the beach and a 15 minute walk into Benderloch to the local shop. There was a fantastic four mile circular walk/run from the site (shown in the cycle leaflet given to us). The views are fantastic and most of the route is on the quiet country lane or cycle path. A short drive into Oban for the large supermarket which was also very scenic over the Connel Bridge and along the coast. Oban is a beautiful town and you must sample the seafood from the 'shack' located on the pier near to the ferry terminal. We had a sharing platter which was excellent value for money and packed with seafood. I also had my first try of an oyster - think it may be my last too - I'll stick to prawns! We went on a trip on a RIB Boat to see the whirlpools at Corryvreckan (brochure in information pack) - WOW - this was fantastic - as the weather was nice for us the whirlpools weren't very big however I could imagine in windier conditions they would be amazing. Would recommend this site and hope to go back again ourselves.

We used this site as an overnight stop while touring Scotland in March. A very friendly owner directed us to a hard standing at the back of her property. This was near to the toilet and shower but we used our own facilities so can't comment on these. The site is part of a sheep farm. There is a lovely dog walking paddock and a short walk over the road takes you to a lovely deserted beach (well it was in March). It was freezing cold but great to walk along with the dog. We only stayed overnight so can't comment on the surrounding area or what facilities are nearby. Would recommend it though.

The main site was full but we were offered a hard standing area at the bottom of the drive leading to the toilet block. This was ideal for us as my wife is disabled and it meant easy access to the toilets. There was EHU and a TV booster aerial which gave us a good Freeview reception. The walk down to the Beach is ideal for Dogs and ours loved the opportunity to have a good run by the lakeside.
Would definitely recommend the site. It is ideal if you want to visit nearby Oban and the Marine attraction just down the road from the site is a good place to spend time.

This site is well located on the west coast of Scotland to explore the area surrounding Oban. We stayed on the general 5 van site and the CL site was fully booked.
The general site is all grass and is extremely soft (even in August). As a result, we were asked to park our car next to house - not ideal with a young family.
We stayed on this site because it had a shower. The shower was absolutely filthy. I would have had to spend a bit of time cleaning it before using it. The toilets were basic but ok. The shower has a coin meter.
In August, as soon as the sun starts to set, you will be over-run with midges here and they do really eat you.
Still, a nicely located site which was quiet and friendly.

Stayed on the CL part of this site - nice big pitches, own water pipe and booster for television (cant comment on this as didn't use it) Only separated from road by a few trees - as there are other caravan sites along this road it was reasonably busy but as its only a single track it wasn't a problem.
There is another area up nearer the house and would try and use this next time as we would like the option of using a proper loo and it was quite a walk from the bottom CL - not sure about the shower though - extremely basic and the washing machine was covered in rust and 'use at your own risk' doesn't inspire confidence!
Owner very nice - even had a welcome pack with leaflets about things in the area. Waterfowl park and small garden centre 5 mins drive away - have a farmers market 1st and lst Thursday of the month and it was really good. Lovely beach a 10 minute walk.

Ths site is about five miles from Oban, which is a town well worth visiting. It has all the shops you'll need and many bars and places to eat. There are also numerous boat trips you can take from the town.
Highfield is a great site. It is sectioned into smaller CL sites and we managed to get a great pitch right at the bottom, with EHU and TV point. Facilities on site are very basic, but this is reflected in the price. The beach is a 5 minute walk away.
A great site.

I stayed here 7 nights. A very good CL with good hard-standing pitches and plenty of room between them. Each pitch has a water tap, electric and tv connection.
Immaculately kept and Elaine is very welcoming and helpful. Shower was rather basic, but then this is a CL and really, I see this as a bonus provision!
An excellent dog friendly site, with plenty of walks, including the beach. For early/late dog toilet needs, there is woodland access, through a gate opposite the pitches. Make sure you clean up after your dog, as this is a great facility which dog owners would not wish to lose!
A great site for touring Argylle and Lochaber, with good access to local facilities. There is a caravan and camping shop in the village, which carries an impressive range of caravan spares. The seal failed on my Thetford loo and they had the correct one in stock, so I was able to speedily replace it.
The restaurant nearby, does lovely food at reasonable cost. If you ate early evening, at the time I was there, you could have a three course meal for £10. Large caravan site along the road, has a fish and chip shop, really lovely food.
A very pleasant place to stay.

A lovely little site, well two actually. Highfield 1 is a CC CL, with each pitch being fully serviced, including tv aerial.
Highfield 2 is a general site, still with, I think, only about five pitches.
We stayed on Highfield 1 the CL at a cost of £10 for the night, well worth it for the quality of pitch I thought.
The pitches are off a single track road, only about 20 metres off, so in theory it could be noisy. However, as the road is a single track & goes, effectively, to nowhere, then in practice it is quiet.
As has been mentioned the beach is about a 5-10 minute walk down the track directly opposite the site, & there is a restaurant just along the road, about 3 minutes walk away. I can't comment on the food but the menu looked nice & reasonably priced.
The site is well positioned, about 7 miles from Oban for ferries & shopping, but secluded for peace & quiet.
I would guess that, due to it's proximity to the trees the site could be full of midges in the summer, but at this time of year we had no problems at all.
Elaine, the owner makes sure everything is kept in top tip condition.
We didn't use the showers & if the weather's not good then it's easier to drive to the house for the Elsan disposal point, other than that I would highly recommend the site, & will definitely return

Site is still of an excellent standard. The owners did not sell. The grounds were well kept, lovely beach within a 5min walk for the dog, very dog friendly place to stay. There was a toilet and shower (no comment as it was not used) and a washing machine, which was useful.(we were away for three weeks)
