Well maintained site, fantastic bathroom, don't park near the bridge, it is a Bailey bridge and really noisy and some people don't observe the 5MPH sign and the noise sounds like thunder, my dog was spooked everytime. Also children use it as a part of their race track on their bikes until 9 at night! I can imagine for parents with small children, the playground is great but please not early in the morning, I know it's easy to let the kids out of the van/tent early but please think of others! So to summarise I would definitely go again but nowhere near the bridge or playground. By the way the dog walk was great and if you follow the Public Footpath sign opposite the site, it takes you to Grafham Water in about 10 minutes.A local shop in Grafham village would have been good-the site sells basic stuff.

This is our first time visiting this site and will not be our last, we are planning on August Bank Holiday next year.
We spent the first four days of our two week main holiday here and it was very nice, we did have nice weather though!
The site does have a narrow lane running to the entrance with not many passing places, so could be tricky if you met another unit coming in the opposite direction, take it nice and steady and watch out for the many cyclists! The entrance is good though and leads to the reception and through a one way system on the park.
The wardens in reception were very nice and helpful and we were given pitch 69 which is at the back of the pool toilet (nice and handy for night time!) and next to the gate to the pool entrance.
Here is my only negative - If you have a big caravan and are pitched in this bottom field area please note there are some large conifer trees hedging this area and we watched as several caravans got stuck when trying to get out of this area, one having to back up, un hitch and push their van up the road and hitch back up again, in my opinion they could do with cutting at least a six foot length off this hedge to help for easier manouvering out of that field. We went to the wardens on the day we were leaving and explained what we had seen and as we had a big twin axle, could we go off the opposite way (against the one way system) and she said she understood and that would be fine as long as one of us walked ahead of the unit as a warning.
That said on to the rest- The toilet areas are very good and as with all CC sites are immaculately maintained, as is the site in general, there are some fully serviced pitches on gravel, which hopefully we will get next time, there is a small children's play area and of course the swimming pool.
Because the weather was nice we took full advantage of it, using it most days. You do have to collect a wrist band for a time slot to keep the numbers down though, which is a good thing because it's not massive. We played with a small inflatable ball one day with the children and the young lady lifeguard did not mind, but the following day there was one of the wardens watching and she would not let us play with it ! All in all the pool is a great facility though.
There is an information room on site also, crammed with local information on things to do and see. There is a small Zoo called Hammerton Park about 10 miles away and they had leaflets for it with free entrance vouchers for children in it.
Because the weather was good, we didn't do much of anything but relaxing and swimming and we went cycling to Grafham Water a couple of days and had ice creams and played on the big open greens with the kids cricket set and football, nice place to take a picnic too. There are cycle routes from here to Huntingdon and St Neots.
It is about 7 miles driving into Huntingdon where there is a cinema and a TESCO on the same complex with a petrol station.
We travelled from here one day to Wicksteed Park in Kettering which is a small theme park about 20 miles away, quite reasonable at £16 for a wristband and plenty of BOGOF offers about for them too, which we used.
The village of Grafham itself has no shop or pub, but has a Indian restaurant and all the times we went past in the evening there were plenty of cars parked outside. The next village of Ellington has a pub called the Mermaid, but no shop either. We had to travel in the car to a village called Buckden for a local convenience store, about three miles away, which also has two really nice eaterie type pubs.
My aunt came to join us and stayed about a mile away in a farmhouse B&B called Thorpe Lodge Farm, which was really nice and very reasonably priced, nice and handy for the extra relatives if they do not caravan or camp.
The site does have an overflow field and the sign does say NO TENTS, but they take them in the overflow field.
All in all we were very impressed with this site and we only wish we lived nearer as we would use it a lot, it has everything you need for a short break or a main holiday, well done to the CC club for taking on this site and well done to the wardens for keeping it so welcoming and nicely presented, we will definitely be back.

Nice site and good facilities. Reception has a small shop where you can buy basics. The toilet/showers were kept in clean order. The site is just a walk away from the village and the village pub.
There are some grass pitches available. Well kept hard standing pitches and EHU points. There is a swimming pool, this wasn't open when we were there but it looked ok, from what we could see. We were a little disappointed when we went out to Grafham water itself, everything was closed, except the shop to hire bikes from. There was no one around, we were the only car in the car park, we thought maybe something was going on somewhere else that we hadn't heard about.
Not sure if we would go back, the site didn't give us the wow factor that other sites have, but it might have been the time of year so I wouldn't rule it out all together.

A lovely site in a fantastic location. This was our third or fourth visit to this site and we keep returning because we love it! The wardens are friendly and can't do enough to help, the site is half hard standings with one 12 metre long pitch which is great for our 8.5m motorhome.
The toilet facilities are modern, warm and clean. It's a 10 minute walk to the lake and you can walk all the way round - 9 miles. Our elderly greyhounds declined the challenge! There's a small shop on site, open at the same time as reception, but the village only has an Indian restaurant. We tried it on a previous visit and the meal was tasty, but expensive for a village restaurant.

My husband, two daughters (aged 2 and 8) and myself stayed at this fabulous site for one night in July. We had just had 7 nights in Norfolk and used this as a stopover on our way to Silverstone for the weekend.
The wardens were very friendly indeed and were most helpful. The site itself is peaceful and nicely laid out; it is also immaculately kept. The children's play area is great and the swimming pool amazing. The pool is surrounded by 6ft fencing so no danger of a little one wandering in and having an accident; a warden is present at all times when it is open too. If the site is busy you can pre-book an hour's swimming slot for free and coloured wrist bands are issued to ensure the pool does not get overcrowded.
The washrooms and showers are fantastic! They seemed to be fairly newly refurbished and were the best we have encountered so far on our travels.
We enjoyed our night immensely and wished we were staying longer! We will most definitely be returning.

We visited this site in August school holidays. We got to pick our pitch when we arrived and had the choice of about 5 there's a mix of grass and hardstanding. Some of the pitches were a bit small for the huge vans going on them, and at least one did not have any room for an awning unless the awning was put up on the road.
This site shows as full on the caravan club website a lot- but is worth ringing because they have an unmarked camping field as well, just along the lane, and this is not included on the booking website, with its own loos etc and there were only about 4 caravans/ tents in this huge paddock on the Thursday the schools broke up. This area makes for a nicer camp in my opinion, as although I have a caravan, I don't like the hardstanding 'row of towbars' effect.
Its a very flowery site with a little shop and a small play area teeming with children. A chip van comes on Fridays- a 40 min wait- but- yum yum.
Re the small swimming pool- you have to pick up coloured wristbands for the hour you want, and that session is full when they are all gone. Forget spontaneity- planning ahead is essential. A site warden has to stay by the pool the whole time, when they could be out making themselves busy cutting the grass and suchlike, and although - I can see the (health and) safety issues, but honestly, its a tiny small pool, and having just been to france with huge pools and not a lifeguard in sight, well, enough said. I'm sure most people appreciate being looked after like that.
The loos needed a key to get into. Apart from stopping children playing in them, and making a mess I found this a bit annoying, especially if I forgot to take it with me- inside they were spotless.
There are fields to the front and back of the site and dogs can go off the lead. Its a lovely spot with walks galore and Grafham Water just down the road.

Had one night here as a stopover and was very impressed. Cannot really comment in much detail especially on the local area but was mostly impressed so feel the need to comment.
Toilet block was literally spotless - you almost felt afraid to use it!
Small children's play area, small shop with most essentials and an information hut.
We did not have time to use the pool but it looked nice through the fence.
Overall site felt friendly and incredibly well run, perhaps almost too organized as others have alluded to!
We only had a VW campervan and didn't bother with an awning for our brief stopover but could see other reviewer's point about pitches being rather on top of each other.

I really felt the need to leave a review from a tent-campers' point of view. The site looks lovely on paper and in real life. Unfortunately we were located outside of the main site on the paddock. Not a problem, however; it was after having paid that we found out that we were denied access to the main toilet and shower block because a key was needed to get access, which we weren’t provided with. There were basic facilities on the field. However, the roof of the men’s showers was being held up by electrical tape, the woman’s showers were closed of by a door that was so crooked that it wouldn’t actually close. No locks or any other form of security, only 50 meters removed from a public road. The field was littered with rabbit holes and without lighting on the field it was a health hazard to go the toilet building after dark.
Although we are members of the Caravan club we had to pay extra for travelling with a tent and got less. Our grandparents were located on the main field with a seven meter caravan and a dog, access to all facilities and covered by cctv, and paid 7 pounds less per night.

A fantastic site recommended to me by a family member. The staff are very friendly. Site is in a peaceful rural location not to far from the Water.
We were pitched in the 'Paddock' pitch size was good, big enough in fact to take a Monty 12, utility and gazebo.
Facilities at the paddock are not quite as good as on the main site. Shower and toilet block would benefit from a little ££ being spent, however that said still a lot better than other sites we have stayed at!
Go for the Electric Tent pitches which are down at the end of the field. Gardening of a good quality all over the site.
Perfect base for a quiet relaxing few days close to the water. Nice cycle rides to keep everyone happy. Really would recommend taking a bike or at least hire from Grafham Water.
A fantastic weekend, will go back before the end of summer

Used the site as a stop over as had been recommended by friends. Really nice site and A1 facilities. Reception has a tiny shop offering basics and not much else. The site is situated just on the edge of the village so a nice stroll to the local. Very well kept as you would expect for a CC site. I think the CC have recently taken this site over and you can tell they have been doing work. The toilets and showers are all new. New hard standing everywhere and EHU points. There are some grass pitches available. There is also a nice swimming pool, we did not see this open as we were there in April but it looked nice and well kept. Nice little children's play area in the middle of the site to help keep the children amused and I think in view from most pitches. A good site and we will go there again.
