June 2004 Spent 4 days here on our first ever camping trip having read reviews and checked out their brochure. The facilities were as described but would be better suited to less people on the site. We had the feeling of being like sardines with the number of caravans and motor homes etc. We ate in the bar/restaurant on the 1st night. The food was o.k. and not too pricey. We intended to spend the rest of the evening in there taking advantage of the entertainment and bingo but found it impossible to get a seat as it was very packed.
Taking a morning shower involved queuing for up to 30 minutes - 5 male cubicles for around 200 pitches seems woefully inadequate, perhaps some investment by the 'new' owners wouldn't go amiss.
It has been mentioned on previous reviews that the noise from the club could be a nuisance. We didn't find this to be too much of a problem as we were far enough away. The downside to this meant that we were positioned fairly close to the road which could be quite noisy.
Overall our impression was that the site has potential if the facilities, such as the swimming pool, were to be expanded to cater for the large number of people using it at busy periods. If we were to rate it we would probably give it 5/10.

August 2003 We were looking for a two-week break at the last minute (well, the day before) and could not find any availability. We telephoned Spring Willows, and were told there would be no problem, and there was no need to book - just turn up.
The site is much larger than it appears - although we would imagine that some of the pitches would be rather a long walk to the toilets/showers, we had no problems.
We were originally given a pitch which would have meant walking out of our awning into the car parked next door! However, we were immediately given another pitch, and all was well.
Agree about the entertainment - you can hear it until 11 o'clock or later most nights, but we coped.
Bar meals - we ate in the restaurant, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We tried to have breakfast there as well, but the service was so slow, we decamped to the Little Chef next door!
We would recommend the site to anyone. There's lots to do in the area (Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, North Yorkshire Moors, Flamingoland, Eden Camp, Pickering, etc), and lots to do on the site.

May 2003 We were trying desperately to get in somewhere near Filey for the bank holiday with only a couple of days notice. The bookings people here were very helpful indeed. We were originally put onto a space which was a touch too small for us so they more than kindly altered things around to allow us a bigger space (and also did this again to allow us to stay a couple of extra nights).
The site is very pleasant and nicely laid out. It is a safe site for children with play areas etc although these have seen better days the kids didn't seem to mind!
The laundry, toilet and shower facilities are very good but you do remember to take the keys with you!
The entertainment for kids at night is fabulous and there was also day entertainment for them although we didn't use that facility.
There is an indoor pool; this is ok but very small and there are limited changing rooms.
The takeaway food from on site was dire and the girls in the shop sullen - the shop supplies were also basic and limited.
Other than that this was a great place to visit.

August 2001, July 2002 The first time we went to this site was bank holiday and we had not booked. Everywhere was full and we entered this site in desperation. The owner was friendly and when we explained the dilema (it was our first time camping with 3 kids) he squeezed us on. We were very impressed with everything and the entertainment was spot on.
The second time was when keys had been introduced and it is a bit frustrating to get to the toilet block and realise you have forgotten it.
I would definitely recommend this site. We hope to get a couple of weekends here during the summer.

6-7th June 2003 This site is about 5 miles out of Scarborough towards Filey. It is a very pleasant site with friendly and helpful site staff. The site is ideal for families and theres is loads for the kids to do. It has its own bar and restaraunt (mediocre bar meals), a shop and games room. The shower block was very clean but its a bit annoying having to remember your own toilet block key each time you visit. There is live entertainment each night but if you like to retire early then its impossible as you can hear the entertainment from the bar until 11pm at the earliest.
