Travelled with friends who had hired MH. Stayed here as part of a weeks journey and wishing we stayed a few nights. Great site, great journey getting there. Great spacious pitches. MH service point. Food to take away on site. I didn’t use facilities as we used our own on board. Very clean chemical toilet disposal.
Great shop, well stocked. Really pleasant staff.
We got a huge area for our 2 vans and 5 dogs between us. Nice beach with Sea and mountain views.
We did book in advance and so glad we did. Site was advertised as full yet didn’t seem full when we were parked up. Social distancing was being observed properly.
Will go back for sure. Looked very child friendly
Really loved this place

Outstanding campsite. Incredible location, great facilities. Set by the see, beautiful dunes and crystal clear water.
Feels like wild camping yet with all the services of a great site.
Highly recommended

Great site for young active people. As an old couple we found it impossible to climb over the dunes to the beach.
The only places to park 10 m apart were a long walk from the facilities and camp shop. The site is well maintained for such a large area, but beware midges!
The only approach road to Gairloch is narrow with passing places which could be a problem for large units.

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best campsite we have ever visited.
The facilities were always immaculate, the shop on site had everything you could ever need, the cafe served really nice lunches and the park was suitable for the small and big children.
We are so happy we visited and will definitely be returning. The COVID-19 measures in place were well thought out and all customers and staff appeared to follow them without difficulty.

Excellent facilities and location, staff brilliant and most helpful.
Will certainly use this site again, best of our trip round NC500.
In the current situation with Covid-19 precautions, this site was by far the most professional in their management.

Used the sands caravan park as a stop off on our NC500 trip. This was a well set up site with several levels and areas to pitch.
The best equipped shop we’d seen in a long time even proper shops never mind camp ones! Good facilities very clean and plenty of too.
Nice looking eat house on site although didn’t eat there. Lovely beach and dunes to shelter some areas from the wee drafts that are occasionally present in the north 🥴 local area has a good few quirky and practical shops too.
In my opinion the best we’d stayed at for all aspects of camping on our 2 week trip I’d highly recommend a visit and more than a night if you can make it 👍

Stayed here for two nights, what a location! Fantastic site, facilities are first class, a well stocked shop with everything you need from storm tie down kits to a needle and thread and everything else in between.
Restaurant on site is good as well as the shepherds hut which sells chippy food and pizzas.
The views are amazing on a clear day but it can feel a bit exposed when it’s windy.
Would certainly recommend this site for anyone visiting the West Coast of Scotland

Aprox 2 miles out of the village, Stopped with small Tent fot 2 nights. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Plenty of pitches to choose from on my visit. If you choose you can camp next to the dunes, beach access a few minutes walk away.
Toilet block ok. Clean and plenty of showers*( no charge). Next door washing up area/kitchen complete with fridges and freezers, plenty of plugs for charging gadgets. This is a family site accompanying children on bikes, note be aware a lot running around unsupervised, tripping over guy lines and the obligatory football match.
The village is a distance away, with limited convenience stores, also a Fish and chip shop. The Barn cafe on site is popular which serves meals throughout the day. Note best to book for evening meal as it gets very busy. Reasonably happy with my stay,

Amazing beachside location with plenty of space available to pitch up.
Facilities were the best I've seen on a campsite and the only negative I could think of is that the toilets were not cleaned regularly enough and with no toilet brushes available it wasn't pleasant in the toilets at times.

Not the type of site we would generally stay on - yet we could really see the attraction.
The simple request that you pitch where you like but keep 7 metres away from your nearest neighbour works well. On the higher grass area its mainly caravans, down in the dunes tents and campervans - with motorhomes split between the two.
Surprised how many electric hook ups in the dunes area, made it easy to find secluded areas with electric and there was plenty of water taps nearby.
Toilet block from the outside looked grim - inside was the opposite, recently re-furbed, warm and plenty of hot water.
We used the cafe for a takeaway, good basic well cooked food.
As previous reviews mention the shop is super well stocked, not sure what you can't buy there - everything from wet suits to fresh olives to guy ropes to frozen pizza.
No camp-fires allowed on any pitches, although you can make them on the beach as long as you clear up after you.
With over 250 pitches we thought this would be a loud, nosiy site - not at all, in fact it was very peaceful. Would estimate it was less than 50% full, so plenty of choice where to pitch.
