Lovely site. On the old railways station that still has the platform and the old station seats are dotted around the site.

Very well kept, grass cut, and all the old sidding buildings painted and used for the toilets, laundry etc. In the price the showers and hairdryers are free. Price for 2 adults, motorhome and 2 dogs with hook up was £17. 50 in July. By far the cheapest in the area.

Its a 5 min walk to Aberlady villiage, which has a shop and 2 lovley pubs with beer gardens. The food and dinning areas looked lovley, but we just sat outside and watched the world go by.

Another 5 min walk from the village is the sea, and you can walk round the huge nature reserve, with views for miles. North berwick is a short drive away, which is also nice to walk round, and here you will find a super market etc.

Views from the site out on the hills, it was lovely and quiet when we were there. In the booking office you can by ice cream, drinks etc. We were made to feel very welcome, and would be back again as ideal for a weekend break for us, as only 40 mins from home.

This is the second time I have visited this site and yes it is a basic site with bathroom facilities that could be improved on, however on both occasions we were made to feel very welcome and the site is quiet with great views. Called at the local pub (also owned by the same family as campsite) and had a great evening meal there. Also served breakfasts and these were even more impressive than the evening menu.

Would I camp there again? Certainly!

We visited the site during August and found the staff very friendly and approachable as mentioned before. Tents were pitched on the old station platform (hence pegging down is a bit of an issue!), but the position and views across the fields were welcomed. Site was quite waterlogged by heavy downpours days before our arrival but they were doing their best to allocate pitches that were dryish where possible to accommodate everyone, even in the weirdest of positions!

The loo's and basins have clearly been recently upgraded but serious attention needs to be paid to the actually building itself. The ladies loo's have a serious case of mould on the walls making it seem very unpleasant despite the new fittings (I'm sure something could be done to rectify this rather than just overpainting and watching it come back through).

There is still only 1 potwash sink, but I did notice a fridge, hot drink machine and basic laundry.

It's about a ten minute walk to the village and nearest pub (owned by the family) - good beer, welcoming and dog-friendly but the food was pretty bad (I gave most of mine to the dog who then threw it back up later in the tent!) but there is a good fish and chip shop on the walk back which came in handy ;o)

Close to lots of lovely beaches and places to walk etc with the dog in tow. We would he happy to go back again, especially if they sort out the mouldy walls in the ladies.

Just returned yesterday from this site, the site itself is easy to find and has a nice view from it with surrounding fields. The staff were great very friendly and approachable. The only down side is the toilet block. As mentioned before its a bit old and scruffy and really could do with updating and more modern facilities added. No hooks to hang clothes etc when showering in the ladies toilet. Only two toilets and 3 showers in ladies. Still only one washing up sink as well. Good site well placed to tour North Berwick and Edinburgh. Site is quite open and it can get quite windy as we found out. Will definitely visit again.

Campsite turned out to be better than I expected - just a 10 minute walk from the town and the beach - the site itself is has some excellent little pitches for tents next to a wheat field which are quite secluded from the main area.
Beautiful views, very friendly staff / owners, facilities are good: little shop has everything you'd need - even beer on tap later on.
Would highly recommend. *****

We were informed that the site had showere faciilites and a shop. But what we weren't told was that it was only one shower for the ladies and two for the men (one being disabled). There was only one sink to wash dishes and when there is more than you camping one is not sufficient.
The toilets were old and the showers not clean. The cost for a normal pitch with electric is £18.00 per night
