Stayed for 5 nights over the bank holiday site was quite and clean. Good dog walk and friendly warden. Only negative comment was in the new shower block the hot water for showers and pan washing, was just lukewarm all week and not hot enough to clean pans etc. However this block did have very hot radiators to warm towels! Mentioned this and was told children do not like hot water. Overall a good site & would use again but as site has only limited showers 5 that I counted and wife said the same for for women to use when busy could be a problem with waiting etc. This site could add a few little things like a shelf over the sinks to drain when washing & mops to clean out showers stops this site getting a 9/10 from us! Local shops a few minutes drive and good local pub. Local Indian restaurant was OK however have had better Cake man

Just back from a short stay here over the Easter break and have to say what a fantastic site this is. As a group of vw enthusiasts with 6 vehicles, 2 caravans, 12 adults, 4 kids and 4 dogs, we were welcomed by Peter and Tim who run the site and given a quick rundown on everything we needed. Fire pits available for hire, fishing lake, large enclosed dog exercise field (with its own poo bins and even a picnic bench!), plenty of room for the kids to gave a kick-about (no kids play area that I saw but we didn't need one), dog friendly pub just down the road (not the safest road to walk along so we organised a shuttle run for the second visit of a Sunday lunch), lovely clean, warm shower/toilet blocks and electric hook-up. Not far from the main road but couldn't hear any traffic noise so we were well sheltered. Not a great deal else within walking distance but a few local shops, moors valley country park, Ringwood all within easy driving reach with Bournemouth and Poole approx 30-45 mins away. We would definitely go back for another stay.

3rd visit here. Lovely peaceful site, toilet/shower block clean & lovely & warm. Not very busy so plenty of space to pitch. Due to the time of our visit (last weekend September) overrun with crane flies which was a huge problem as our 15 year old has a real fear of them! Will be back in a few weeks so they should be gone by then!
Wonderful to hear owls & see bats at night! On the migratory path for the geese, so loads of noisy formations honking & flying over! Great to sit out around a fire basket with a drink in the evening!
For us it's a good site for a relaxing weekend trip, but a little difficult to get anywhere without driving as no path on road, so not really any walks directly from site.

Brilliant few days away. Wonderful site, so peaceful, amazing sunrises/sunsets. Clear skies at night. The dog walk field is best I have ever seen on a camp site. Owners/managers are so friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers clean. Really cannot find anything negative to say at all. Really really lovely site. Would recommend to anyone. Especially as you are given a key to the gate to let yourself in so you can feel safe that no 'intruders' are going to get in overnight. Also, Brilliant pub a minute down road. Only downside, no pavements so you really need to drive there, but if they could get a pathway direct to pub that would make my 99% go to 110%. We will be back thanks guys. Debs, Al and Alf the dog x

We recently had a weekend here and can not fault this site on bit! Toilets/showers were spotless and warm. The owners/wardens were all friendly. We were in a perfect position. Walking distance to the blocks/water etc. The Shop is not stocked with much but we drove into Bournemouth and passed plenty of local shops. Only downside for us was the rain on the Sat night. But we still enjoyed and would definitely return to this site again!

Just returned from Meadow View where we had 2 electric pitches for 2 nights. We were sited on a hard standing and my sister and husband on grass for their tent. Site is slopping but our pitches were level and sheltered. Lots of space with no marked pitches. Lots of family groups pitched together. 2 toilet blocks which were clean and regularly checked. This is a basic site with no play ground but we saw many happily occupied children as there is room for cricket, football and kite flying and cycling. We hired a fire basket for 1 night from the reception. The price includes fuel. This was fab. Delivered to you pitch. Lots of families enjoyed this and a great evening was had by all. Visited Salisbury Cathedral and Military Museum. Had an excellent meal at Drusilla's Inn. We will be back.

We have just recently visited Meadow View and was our first time holidaying in Dorset. The campsite is lovely and quiet and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in our tent and the field was well maintained and the pitches are very spaced out. The shower/toilet blocks are all clean and soap dispensers always full. The showers have constant hot water and are very spacious allowing mum/dad to shower with little ones. On our visit the site was quite busy but there was plenty of room for the children to play around.
The site is basic (meaning no shop or clubhouse/ entertainment on site) however Morrisons, Tesco, Londis are all nearby and there are lots of other little shops. One even open till 10pm. We decided to mix up our days with eating in and out depending on what we were doing on the day. The local pubs (Drusillas Inn and Three legged cross)had some of the best service and food we have had and if you are looking for a quiet afternoon/eve then I would highly recommend a visit to these 2. We even turned up at 8. 45pm one eve and the landlord was more than happy to seat us and were still serving food. You only have to go a few miles out to begin exploring to beautiful countryside of Dorset.
The beaches are beautiful with Bournemouth being our little ones favourite. The country park a mile down the road is brilliant with things to do for all ages and you only have to pay for the car park, which is 8 pound for over 4 hours but you will definitely need the 4 hours to get around the nature trails and beautiful walks of the park. So if you take your bikes you can cycle there and it wont cost a thing.
In the evening the site is well lit. We will definitely be visiting again and probably bring extended family next time. For what we were looking for, a nice non expensive break away from the hustle and bustle of city life this site ticked all of our boxes!
Louise.

We stayed here for two weeks and couldn't fit everything in that we wanted to do as there is so much to see and do from this camp site as a central base. Lovely family and dog friendly camp site, very peaceful and secure which is great. The shower blocks are lovely and clean and only had to wait a while one Saturday morning but wasn't long as there are two blocks to use.
From here you can explore the New Forest, lovely beaches at Sandbanks and Studland, the traditional seaside places such as Poole and Bournemouth (our favourite was Swanage.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and a huge thank you to Tim for sorting out the caravan repair man to come out to us so that we could get away on time.
It's beautiful here, the kids loved it and so did the grown ups, camp fires to hire made it very special and everyone respected the no noise after 11. 00pm. Highly recommend!

After reading so many good reviews left about this site I decided to try this over the bank holiday weekend. Yes the toilet / shower facilities are a credit to the campsite, but that is where my positives run out. On arrival I was greeted, asked to pay for my pitch, this was different than what I had been quoted by emails. My pitch was on a slope, as is much of the site, didn't appear to be any blocks etc to support your van legs readily available so bear this in mind. The main field is where it appears if you store your caravan on site you have preference over all others for these electric pitches. I was disappointed that the road on the site was constantly being driven on at speeds well in excess of the 5mph limit and this appeared to be mainly the workers of the site. Though there is a pub within the vicinity, please note that in order to walk to it you have to walk on a very dangerous twisting busy road as there are no paths, you will need to make a car journey to reach the nearest local shop. With regards to the camp fires I thought the ten pounds to hire the fire grate and fuel for one night was a little excessive. This site is lacking a playground and maybe more consideration should be given to families being placed nearer the main field, when allocating pitches so that parents can watch there children. So its for that reason that I would not revisit as this site does not cater adequately for families, its more set-up as an adult only site and that's the impression I was left with.

First time camping and what a find! This place is perfect, old fashioned (not in a bad way) with camp-fires, seclusion and all you could really want. The owner more than helpful and apart from some kids noise it was just sitting around those wonderful camp-fires chatting away the night.
What we loved was our own choice, with some of his advice as to the best place to pitch our tent-no commercial rubbish here !
Toilets and showers clean and tidy
So would recommend to anyone
We will be staying again very soon
Perfect, peaceful. Wonderful !
