This site never fails to deliver on quality. Immaculate, showers with controls rather than push buttons, pool, large pitches, free wifi, 16 amp ehu. There is also a motorcaravan service point where 2 vans can go either side of the bourne to empty tanks etc. The town and supermarket are minutes by foot. Even better still is it accepts ACSI, so just paid €14 / night. Easy to get to and from, a good site.

We went to this site and paid extra for the 'luxury pitches' , expecting nice clean facilities and peace and quiet, but didn't to get it! The facilities were not well cleaned and we did not get any peace and quiet as the pitches are located next to the children's play facilities and they are inundated with rowdy and very noisy teenagers late at night. No site security! Additionally since the owners have opened a new route to another section of the site, the roadway past the luxury pitches has become very busy. Luxury they ain't.

Have to say this is the best campsite I have encountered, the location is perfect, in the town of Pontorson 8 kms from Mont-St-Michel - a beautiful easy walk along the river, or an 11 minute bus ride - the town of Pontorson is a little gem, nice bars and restaurants, market on weds. We booked a comfort pitch, you get your own private bathroom on the pitch ! wonderful idea, the pitch was enormous, could have fitted 2 motorhomes on it easily ! the site has a wonderful spacious feel about it, lovely bar/cafe, swimming pool, little mini zoo, and lots of open areas, it backs onto fields so was peaceful - there is a carrefour 2 mins away for stocking up on supplies, and it also has jet washers for motorhomes if you need to clean your vehicle ! - I cannot wait to stay on some of their other sites as KAWAN have a lot of sites all over France and spain. Just one thing dog owners need to be aware of is that dogs are not allowed on the buses - I was shocked as had been able to take them in all the restaurants !.

We stayed one night at each end of our Brittany holiday. It's a beautifully kept site very close to Pontorson and just a few minutes walk from a decent size supermarket.
Haliotis has good facilities and lovely grounds which made it one of my favourite campsites to date. There is a Japanese style garden, cascade pond, a herb garden which was great for the barbecue, a mini farm with goats, ducks, geese a pony etc. , a play area for littlies and a sport court for older kids, bouncy castle, trampoline and some wooden fairground type old games which kept my playstation loving son interested for ages.
The pool looked inviting although not huge and no slides my two (15 & 12yrs) enjoyed a dip.
The showers were great just like you would have at home with temp control and proper hoses with movable heads, beats the usual type that spray a tiny bit of mist at you from a tiny head fixed on the wall. Toilets opened onto the elements and the tiles in front got very slippery when wet, saw a couple of slip ups.
Church bells quite loud early in the morning and very slight road noise at night(only noticed this second time so must depend what pitch you are on)not enough to be an issue.
Seemed lots to do in area, we visited Mont St Michel on our last night which was very near. If you go after 7pm parking and courtesy bus was free.
I loved Haliotis and would definitely go back for a longer visit (fancy one of the pitches with private bathroom). Hubby and kids are fans of the all singing sites with big pool slides but all said it was a great site and they would go back.

Great site spoil yourself and get a delux pitch which includes a huge pitch area and own private shower w/c we'll worth a few euros more. Loads of out door space and game areas such as five aside football, pétanque, badminton, and table tennis. They still not sorted the WiFi out which is the only fault I can think of. Pontorson is a quaint town, market day is Wednesday morning a nice size, and there are a few restaurant to try out. Le mont st Michel not far away you can push bike it, but we drove to it 12 euros to park all vehicle's, free bus from the car parks to the mont and a great day out for all. Normandy is a great place to visit with loads to keep you occupied and this sites position is perfect.

A busy site - with a lot of Brits - so if you are wanting a truly French experience, and to escape home, this may not be the ideal place to stay.
We stayed here on our return from Brittany - it is a bit of a drive to Calais, but can be done in a day (we were booked on the 10pm Chunnel crossing).
Pitches are reasonably large, delineated with high hedges. Each pitch had nearby taps - usually one between two pitches - and easy to reach electric boxes. Plenty of showers, toilets and basins which are clean, and even a sauna which can be booked for private use.
A site with a huge amount of 'extra' facilities - a small pool, with a baby pool; bouncy castle, trampoline; basket ball, tennis and table tennis; gym style exercise equipmentm outside; bike rental; a mini farm; our children loved it and were not impressed we were staying only 3 nights! There is also a bar and shop (didn't use, so can't comment) and wifi access - they have a computer for you to use if you don't have your own, but internet access was often slow. There were evening activities laid on during the week (but can't comment as we weren't around to benefit) and a kids' club (again, didn't use, but the notice did say it wasn't to be used as a babysitting service).
Pontorson is a small town - with 2 supermarkets (Carrefour is just a 5 minute walk away), a couple of pizzerias, bars, donner kebab take away.
And just 9km from Mont St Michel - which can be reached along the banks of the adjacent river - a must visit, but try to go early as it is incredibly popular!
Also ideally placed to visit the medieval cities of Fougeres and Vitres - Fougeres has the oldest medieval castle in Europe - or to visit the Normandy coast to the west - Dinard is a beautiful seaside town, with a fabulous beach, and a statue of Alfred Hitchcock, though I have yet to find out why!
The reception spoke very good English.
We'd definitely use this site again.

An excellent site. Would happily visit again. Our super pitch was large and had water and electricity and grey water drain on the pitch. The swimming pool was good as was reception. Golf pitching area and exercise items kept boys happy. Nice walks around campsite grounds. Small animals in a children's zoo area. Easy visit to Mont St Michel from site. Good walks along the canal for the dog and an easy walk into the village for supermarket.

Stayed recently on the private pitches using the site as a base for the Tour De France stages. The private facilities were excellent! Toilet, basin, shower, razor & electric point - radiator for when it's cooler - we didn't need it! We didn't look at the communal facilities as we didn't need to! Our pitch overlooked the golf pitch & putt (basic but fun!), they also had old fairground games which was nice. Nice pool area but we didn't use.
Nice bar area but the prices were high, if they were more reasonable it would have tempted people in. A disappointment for us was that were having issues with the WIFI, we couldn't get it on our pitch and it was very patchy even near reception, we looked forward to watching ITV4 Tour De France highlights in the evening, thanks to a lovely welsh couple in the motorhome next to us we watched it on their sky! Food van nightly on site, we had pizza one night.
Local Carreforre stocked everything we needed and was just round the corner. Sign nearby to an American Cemetery, this was just outside St James and we just made it before they closed at 5pm, a smaller cemetery than the one at Omaha beach, as the clock turned 5 the bells played Amazing Grace, it was so peaceful and a fitting tribute. Mont St Michel very close, a gorgeous setting.
Would definitely return to this site if we plan to visit this area in the future.

Visited here for 3 nights on the way to Brittany. Wished we had stayed longer. The reception is very good with English spoken. Checking in and being directed to your pitch was good. The site has a shop but only basics and bread is available to order, but there is a Carrefore 5 minute walk away and the village (Pontorson) with a few shops, bars and restaurants isn't much further. The bar area is nice, overlooking the pool. The pool is excellent and heated. There is a market in Pontorson on Wednesday mornings which is worth a look if only for the size of the vegetables! We hired bikes from reception 1 day and biked down to Mont St Michel along the path along the river, it took us about 45 minutes and was a great way to spend the day, it is an easy flat ride, although at 22 euro for the for 2 bikes per day it isn't cheap but better than taking the car. Better take pack up & a drink though as it's quite expensive when you get there, but worth it. The showers/toilets are unisex (as is usual in France) but spotlessly clean and reasonably spacious and also not push button type, which is always a bonus. Although we didn't have any children with us we saw that there are play facilities for children and a small area with animals in and also an outdoor gym which me & my husband tried, when there was no-one else around! There are also some outdoor old fashioned wooden ball type games which we had good fun on one night. There is a restaurant on site although we didn't try it as we barbequed each night as the weather was so good. All in all I would recommend this site for any length of stay and we will return hopefully next year

What a great site! We stayed for 3 nights on one of the pitches with private bathroom. This was spotless and having our own facilities spoiled us for the sites to follow.
Haliotis is well situated for the town of Pontorson, quite nice but not a lot going on. The path along the river behind the site is nice for a stroll. The site has a lovely pool and all the stuff you would expect, laundry, play area etc as previous posters have described.
We visited Cancale and Pointe De Grouin one day, travelling the coast road. We also visited Dol de Bretagne, a lovely medieval town, a famous menhir Champs Dolent and Combourg, all nice. These all in easy driving distance in our motorhome. Mont st Michel was spectacular but 20 euros to park!
Loved this site and wish we had stayed longer. Only downside was the WiFi which was playing up at the time.
