We were told about this site by a friend, but would not have found it otherwise. It is at the end of many winding and narrow country lanes. We went in our camper van, alongside two couples in small tents, with just two children under 4.
A small field, and few facilities, but a view of the sea, and so close to it too!
We caught the best of a dreadful August and enjoyed some sunshine, but even when it was raining heavily, it was a gorgeous place to be.
There is a beach within a few hundred yards - though not the best on Anglesey - and a cafe serving snacks, cold drinks, ice-creams and bacon butties. We could see the pub on the slight hillside above, which was clearly a short walk away, though we did not make use of it.
Very understated place to camp.
Not close to shops or amenities, and not blessed with the best facilities, but a lovely location makes it worth the while.

We stayed on the recently opened site for 9 nights over August Bank Holiday. We arrived after a very wet spell just as light was fading. We immediately got stuck in very water-logged field. Neil came to our rescue straight away, despite living half an hours drive away. His large 4x4 had us out of trouble in no time.
The review by Raecooper more than adequately covers the sites facilities and what the surrounding area has to offer. We actually stayed there at the same time as we remember the large dogs.
It is with some reluctance that I write this review because we loved the place so much we don't really want to tell anybody else about it. It is the perfect coastal site for us, small, un-commercialised,with most facilities within walking distance. Oddly, the local pub (10 mins away) does not do food and the nearest shop is about 15 minutes drive away so you need to be well organised.
However topping it's situation, views and space are the owners Carol and Neil for whom nothing is too much trouble. You could not wish for friendlier and more cooperative hosts. Carol has lots of plans for improving the site and we look forward to going back.

Our family consists of 2 adults, our 8 year old daughter and 2 big dogs. We arrived at the site on the Friday before the August Bank Holiday for a 4 night stay and were greeted immediately on arrival by the site owner who promptly led us to the camping field. We were the first tent on site so had our pick of pitches! All pitches appeared to be more or less level and all had a beautiful sea view with just a 5 minute walk to the beach. The field was sightly water logged due to the heavy rain they had experienced prior to our arrival which made it quite difficult to keep our tent pegs in the ground throughout the 4 nights of high winds from the Irish sea! The owners did offer us more pegs though to help secure our tent but thankfully they were not needed! We did have to take down the gazebo as it would have been blown off site which meant we spent the second night out in the rain huddled around our chimnea! We had to have our van towed out of the field on the 2nd day due to the rainfall overnight. The sites facilities were very basic but thats what campings all about to us! 1 outside brick built toilet and 1 toilet and sink unit in a corugated iron shed - both kept very clean indeed and we never had to queue either! Also a changing room and shower in a porta cabin which we never used but also looked very clean and ideal for washing off the sand after a day on the beach! There are no pot washing facilities but its just as easy to boil a pan of water! The owners collected our ice blocks 2 days running and returned them to us frozen again for no extra cost which was very helpful as we had taken alot of meat for BBQs! There is a very popular seafood restaurant a few minutes walk from the site but we didnt have chance to try it out although it always seemed very busy and there is a small cafe where we bought ice creams from after the beach! The beach is a great place to explore and wasnt overcrowded throughout our stay, infact we were the only people on it most mornings and evenings! Lots of rock pools to explore and plenty of sand for playing in once the tide has gone out. Me and my daughter ever braved a swim in the sea on the first 2 days! Beautiful clear water and golden sands. There are a few basic, local shops in the next village but nothing within walking distance so be prepared to drive everywhere! We spent alot of our time visiting attractions at the other side of Anglesey such as the Sea Zoo and Pilis Palace which are about 45 mins drive but I would recommend more local sites such as a working windmill and south stack lighthouse on Holy Island. Theres also a maritime museum and RSPB centre on Holy Island along with tourist type shops and a few supermarkets. The site was not at full capacity over the course of our stay so we had plenty room for games and flying kites! The dogs had plenty of room to run about although they were tethered to the van at all times. There is ample space in the next field for a quick toilet break for the dogs and they are allowed on the beach as well which was great fun! The pitch sizes are huge with more than enough room without being crammed in alongside your neighbours. We had plenty space for our 4 man tent, 2 large windbreaks and a 3x3 metre gazebo, before we had to take it down! The owners are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would definitely return to this site in the future only hopefully in drier weather! A big THANK YOU to the site owners who made our stay very relaxing despite the weather!
