Booked to stay here for two nights. Site is made up mainly of seasonal pitches.
There were only a small handful of those vans being used so the site was quiet (there is some road noise from both the main road and the road that passes by the site)
The toilet block is adequate but tired and could do with some refurbishment. The staff were so friendly and helpful. As previously mentioned, there is a great walk up the hill through the wood and onto the moors.
Lovely to finally be in Yorkshire when the heather is in bloom. Always manage to miss it.
The site is near the coast and there are plenty of pretty and quaint seaside villages to choose from.
A nice place to stop for a few days.

Excellent base for exploring the Yorkshire Moors as only 3/4 mile walk away, up a public footpath to the left hand side of the site. Approx 10/15 mins drive to Saltburn by the Sea, a lovely town with walks straight onto the Cleveland Way.
Also, had the best cod here that we have ever had! 25 minutes drive to Whitby again a lovely town, but quite a bit busier than Saltburn with arcades for children.
Great looking harbour. Quiet site, clean and adequate toilet and showers. Managers very helpful and friendly

Used this site when I walked the Cleveland Way and after a 20 mile walk, it was a welcome sight.
The site is about 1/2 mile from the Cleveland Way and the pub is situated in Slapewath called Fox & Hounds. There is no shop, apart from Boosbeck up the road. There do let back-packers on esq doing the Cleveland Way, as there is nothing else until Hinderwell.
I found the site was friendly, toilets and showers were clean, plenty of hot water. There is always a spot for a small tent.
I would camp there again in the future.

Very friendly wardens. Nice peaceful site. Toilets were clean at all times. 2 showers were ok. I would say more suitable for older people. I wouldn't bother going into boosbeck. 15-20 mins away from Whitby. We ate at the grapes pub overlooking the lake which was nice and the jolly sailor was fab food. Both pubs 5-10 on the way to Whitby. Would definitely go again as a base for a weekend.
