The welcome from the owners was genuine, and was maintained throughout our stay. It was raining quite heavily when we arrived, and the owner was willing to stay and get soaked whilst he gave us practical help to get set up on their small grassed site amongst the trees.
There is no dog walk on site, but it is in the countryside with plenty of woodland around.
The facilities are fine for the size of the site, with plenty of water for hot showers (2) on demand.
Added bonuses were the owner's fresh bread delivery (except Sunday) and their restaurant where we enjoyed professional cooking and service by the owners.

We have always booked large sites before so Belle Vue was a new experience for us.
With my hand on my heart this was the best site ever. Simon and Cal work tirelessly to ensure your stay is everything you could wish for. Attentive without being intrusive, its like staying with friends.
Fresh bread delivered daily and first class cuisine are a real bonus.
We had problems with our car but thanks to Red Pennant and help from our hosts was only a minor inconvenience.
The facilities are best described as adequate, no frills but spotlessly clean, the pool excellent, we absolutely loved it.
A little attention is needed for the fresh water point and the chem disposal, bit too close together and uses the same hose.
The area has a lot to offer, the local chateau is a must and take time to have a coffee and croissant in the village. A free lake with patrolled swimming, a cafe and lots of shade is 20 mins away, Simon and Cal can point you towards the region's other attractions.
We'll definitely be back, no question.
Do yourselves a favour check this one out!

We loved this place. The guys that own it simply can not do enough for you. The tent was already there when we arrived with everything needed but they offer pitches for tents and caravans too. Up to eight pitches are up at any one time. There is a lovely pool and masses of space for ball games and fun for the kids. The facilities are cleaned regularly.
The owners cook each evening if you wish and for 16 Euros you get a set 4 course meal which is out of this world. For example we had baked Camembert with honey and walnuts, beef bouginor, cheese platter and then a apple pudding which was to die for.
A lovely lake is just 20 minutes away with a beach and boats to hire etc. It is watch by lots of life guards and the water is wonderful for swimming. Plus is it totally FREE! There are clean toilets and changing rooms too. Superb.

What an amazing little site Simon and Cal have created.
Superbly friendly without being intrusive, we wish we could have stayed longer than the week we were there.
Approximately 1. 5miles from the little town of Hautfort, the site looks out across to the local chateau and a good sized supermarket isn't far away.
Cals culinary skills are amazing, so don't pass up the opportunity to book dinner some time. However maybe it's the extra touches they provide like the morning bread delivery to your tent or a supply of local red wine by the carafe that makes this site so special - the perfect place to kick back.

A great little site, Simon and Cal have built up a small site and go out there way to make your stay perfect.
They have a on site restaurant and do a a great 4 course meal for 15 euros a head, 2 course child meal is 7. 50 euros.
Site has 10 pitches with EHU, with best views from 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
The toilets are clean and adequate, with plenty of hot water.
Great views of the chateaux from the site and early call each morning from the cockrell in small holding next to site.
Close to all main Dordogne sites! look forward to returning in 2012.

Welcome to Paradise ! We are from Holland and had such a good time at Camping Belle Vue that we wanted to leave our review here. This is a wonderful spot with great views of the Chateau which is lit at night. We got a very warm welcome from Simon & Cal and they couldn't do enough for us; they delivered breakfast to our door every day and were always available to give us advice and help on places to visit. The meals they cooked us were very delicious and often used ingredients from their garden. 10/10

What a great site this is. A tribute to the hard work and attention to detail that Simon and Cal put into taking care of their guests. The site is small having only 8 places but each place has been carefully situated to give everyone more than adequate space. From the lower end of the site there is a wonderful view of the Chateau at Hautefort, which is illuminated at night.
The swimming pool is clean and well kept. The toilets are spotless and the shower is always hot.
Although you cannot walk to a village for a meal I don’t think we would have done because the meals in the little restaurant on site are excellent. Good food and local wine at a very good price. The site was full during our four days stay but I never heard a bad word or complaint from any of the campers.
The owners have perfected the art of being attentive without being intrusive. From the welcoming smiles and drinks on arrival to the cheerful goodbyes on the way out, you are left in no doubt that they are there to make your stay great experience. You leave the site feeling that you have made two new friends. WE WILL RETURN.
