Found this site on UKCampsite.co.uk for my stay to go to St. Andrews. A really great site and would certainly be my choice next time I am in the area. Good access to toilet and shower and everything about the site was easy to use and clean and tidy. Very nice owners and helpful and friendly. I had two dogs with me. Very good facilities for them in next door fields and a real dog friendly area. Get a good map of where you are going. My confusion with the site is that there are three or four sites in the same area with similar names - so know which one you have chosen. Absolutely faultless. Easy access if you have a large van or are towing. The road is a minor road but obviously easily accessible for large farm machinery etc so no problems at all with that. Loved it and will be back.

Only one night at this lovely campsite but we will return I hope. Beautiful views over the Fife countryside and a short walk up Drumcarrow Craig, recommended by owner, gave us more views to St Andrews and the coast. Interesting broch and hut circles there too. Pitches are flat and spacious and the facilities are good for a reasonable cost. It is near the famous Peat Inn but unfortunately it was fully booked when we visited-will book in advance next time.

We stayed at this site over the October half term for a week to see our son who is stationed at RAF Leuchars. Unfortunately we arrived in the dark and the satnav stopped half way along the road so I phoned the owner of the site to ask where exactly where the site was. He very kindly stood in the road with a torch and guided us into the field. During our stay there was only one or two other units staying, so we never had a problem waiting to use the toilet or shower. We found the facilities basic but more than adequate for our need and for the price charged. The area is lovely, with lots of places to visit, especially if you are a member of the NT. The owner was very friendly and lent us a file on places to visit. St. Andrews, Dundee and Anstruther are well worth a visit. We will definitely use this site again.

In November, this was the only site still open and also within easy reach of the golf course we were playing at St Andrews. Despite its postal address, it's much further from Cupar.
Positives - blissfully quiet. Beautiful views to the Fife countryside. No light pollution meant plenty of stars at night (you need a torch to read the toilet lock keypad at night). The sound of owls at night and skeins of geese by day. Sited up above the fog that filled the valley below one frosty morning. Fabulous sunsets and sunrises. Loads of room between the very long narrow hard stands
The water standpipe has a long enough hose for motorhomes, though the very soft ground may make access to it difficult. A very friendly owner who accommodated us at short notice, his Kelpie sheepdogs are very friendly too.
Negatives - at £15 for hardstand and EHU, it is an expensive CS for what you get and it felt run down - no toilet paper, but half a dozen empty old tubes in the bin; and the shower cubicle was grubby and unappealing, so we didn't pay the additional 50p (showered at the golf clubhouse instead).
As there was no-one else there, our dog was under control off-lead - the immediate dog walk otherwise is along the quiet road because the fields are full of livestock.
There's a pleasant walk - with or without a dog - at nearby Magus Muir wood near Strathkinnes, with its old monuments. Cupar is a beautiful town with interesting buildings, worth half a day.
Would we come back? Great location not matched by what's provided. So maybe yes, maybe no.

Management response: I would like to apologise for the experience you have had and taken onboard the negative comments. When you came to stay the site was closed and maintenance had stopped for the winter. The charge of £15 per night was a one off due to the fact we beleived that the electricity drawn would have been far greater than during peak season due to the freezing tempratures and increased heater usage. I would also like to thankyou for your comments as they allow us to ensure that we can do everything we can to ensure you get maximum satisfaction from your stay and have put the following changes into practice for the next season.
The rates for next season have been changed to £11 per night Sun-Thursday and £12 per night Fri-Sat.
We are removing the key code entry for the shower and toilet block and placing a light above the door.
We are also putting a daily cleaning rota into place for the shower and toilet block.
The partitions between the hard standing are all being painted and the shower and toilet block will also be painted.
The perimiter fence around the park is also going to be removed and replaced.
We have ordered more gravel to freshen up the hard standing for the coming season as well.
We will ensure the grass on site will be strimmed, cut and collected weekly.
We will be offering an honesty box of wood chucks on site for anyone needing them.
Finally I would like to apologise again and offer you an extra nights stay on your next visit. Hope you are well and enjoy the coming season.
Kindest Regards
Hugh Gillan

A small rural site with 5 hardstandings for caravans. The tent area is a narrow strip of grass opposite the vans no EHU in this area so we ended up using the grass strip next to a hardstanding. Only suitable for small to mid sized tents.
The tent area is also the most exposed and since you're at the top of a hill in open coutryside I think it willl always be windy.
The toilets were ok they could have been a little cleaner but usable.
Close to St Andrews and Cupar for shopping etc. St Andrews is definitely worth a visit.
One of the better sites in Fife which appears to be dominated by large holiday parks filled with statics.

We purposely booked this site as it was small and rural, but close to St Andrews. It does what it says on the box - 5 pitches with electric hook-ups and hard standing, with space for tents at the opposite side of the area.
It was perfect for us, but the only gripe was that the one toilet was in the same building as the shower, so we had a bit of a wait in the morning to use the loo with a string of campers using the shower.!
Great site if you are looking for an 'away from it all' location with lovely views, but still only 15 mins drive outside St Andrews. We will definitely be back!
