The site location is perfect for a real 'get away from it all' experience.
The views and outlook of the Galloway Forest peaks are stunning, where you can enjoy watching the weather.
The pitches are generally flat, and the real fires were a key feature.
The host could not have been more welcoming.
The addition of the toilets and showers will provide a bit more flexibility.
This was a great base for cycling and walking.
We would have no hesitation in either recommending or in making a return visit.

This site is described as being near Space, mountains, woods, wildlife, stars and peace. I could not think of a better way to describe our time there. We camped for 4 nights on our way up to the highlands and loved it.
This is proper camping with campfires allowed and minimal facilities. We spent our time enjoying the amazing scenery, walking up Cullvenan fell and visiting nearby Wigtown and the Galloway Forest Park.
Newton Stewart (6 miles away) is handy for the supermarket etc. But there are smaller shops and a pub within a couple of miles.
The owners could not have been more helpful and friendly and we would recommend this site if you are looking for a really laid back, basic campsite. Enjoy the tranquillity!

A lovely, peaceful campsite in a remote location.
At the moment the facilities are quite basic - drinking water and chemical toilet facilities but I understand that a toilet/shower block are planned for next year.
There are also in situ barbecues and campfire sites (free wood available in nearby forest)and a really nice touch is an exceptionally comfortable hammock.
The owners are friendly and hospitable and the site is truly dog friendly with large adjacent fields which can be used for exercising your four legged friends.
