We were looking for a good, basic site (meaning we had no need for extras like shop / entertainment etc) and we’re very pleased with Applefields.

Good location - near Aldeburgh and Orford Ness and with other places to visit not too far away. If you go, do investigate Orford, it’s fascinating!

Site was clean and very quiet. Loved the fact it was near silent after 10. Great views of stars!

Shower / loo set up seemed a bit odd when we arrived (3 rooms with loo + shower and two separate loos) but I only had to wait for a shower once… maybe because the site was pretty empty. Actually more civilised than lots of showers together in one area and lots of loos in the other!

Level pitches.

We appreciated the kettle when we ran out of gas and there was also a microwave; toaster; fridge; washing machine; dryer and massive freezer - fantastic for people without their own equipment.

Great Co-op about 0. 6 miles away. We got good pizza in Leiston too.

About 2. 5 miles to Sizewell beach. (Not the prettiest! Interesting though. )

Susan was as laid back as everyone said in previous reviews although, personally, I’d feel safer paying a deposit! The site was good value.

Good washing up facilities.

Tiniest thing… showers were perfectly adequate although, as with many campsites, pressure could have been better. The buckets to clean shower floors are well appreciated but it would be nice to have more water in so one can clean more effectively. A squeegee thing also is nice to have so one can dry the floor after cleaning.

We will be back… and definitely recommend Applefields!

Absolutely wonderful site, fabulous pitch sizes, decent showers/toilets, even a kennel if you want to put your dog somewhere for a few hours.

Owner susie was lovely, and so very trusting as you pay for nothing until you leave, if it wasn't a 5 hour drive away I'd be back every month !

Our only problem was ANTS we were over run with them--not owners fault at all-- but ant powder and spray sorted it for us :)

Leiston is central to many lovely beaches and towns/villages.

Lots to do in surrounding areas, and a lovely pub and shops a 5 min walk away.

Really lovely space with fresh fruit and veg to buy for a small price in the mornings,

Good facilities and customer service,

Better value for money than other spots in the area.

Short walk into Leiston for shops etc. Thank you Susan!

Such a amazing campsite, plenty of showers and toilets.

Love the little extras like microwave toaster kettle and washing machine.

I can’t believe how hard Susan works, such a lovely lady, always has time for you.

I definitely would give it 10/10

It was my first time as a solo traveller but I instantly felt at home in the campsite.

The owner was very friendly and I felt that nothing was too much trouble. It was casual and laid back on site.

There was all the facilities I needed, Freezer that worked well for my ice blocks, There was a little kitchen with a kettle, fridge and the freezer, microwave, washing machine. There was even a lounge!

Tents were given plenty of space and it was a very reasonable price for my stay. Leiston town centre was easily to walk too, Aldeburgh with it's famous fish and chip shop, Thorpeness is certainly worth a visit, I like Dunwich to swim and it is near RSPB Minsmere, all of those are very close with a car.

Suffolk is easy to drive around I find, and Appletree campsite is in the idea place to do it.

If I could change anything at the campsite I would add a toilet closer to the best field for tents, (I might be giving away my age here).

The campsite was very clean which is not easy to achieve in August.

I will go back to the campsite when I go back to Suffolk.

A wonderful campsite with a range of areas including lovely tucked away spots amongst the apple trees.

Excellent facilities and very well run and looked after.

Would definitely recommend it.

Great campsite with relaxed vibe and very good facilities.

Liked it a lot and would definitely stay here again.

There are all kinds of shops just up the road in Leiston but it would be good to have an honesty shop on site with essentials like shower gel, tooth paste and the like. Yes, I left my shower gel at home!
