Picked Woodovis following the glowing reviews on here and their website statement (quiet, peaceful site) and thought this would be just our cup of tea!
As you can see from all my other site reviews I am not in the habit to leave negative reviews but I feel I have to be honest about Woodovis.
This site was not for us at all, which was surprising as we use the unbiased reviews for guidance, so here goes;
Good points:
Easy to find with good accessibility
Pretty & rural location, no road noise
Lovely long entrance drive
Warm welcome
Freshly made croissants/bread - delicious
Bad points:
Where we were pitched was not quiet. We were in the 'main' area near the toilets and reception next to a car parking area for the statics and any new arrivals. There was a constant stream of traffic in and out, at one point there was a queue right in front of our van. Lots of slamming of car doors and comings and goings - not exactly what we would call 'tranquil'.
Pitches in the main area are small. Tamar field is apparently better but they are a further walk from the toilets. No outlook from our pitch to anything apart from more cramped pitches on what we really think should be left as a 'green area' for children to play on or just to sit on and soak up your surroundings as it really is a pretty park.
The dog walk - small and not long enough, also nowhere to allow dogs to have 'off lead' exercise. The drive makes a lovely walk, but again it is not safe to let dogs off here.

This is the nicest site we have stayed at! Go! Can't recommend it highly enough. Lovely flat pitches, all facilities spotlessly clean and tidy, the staff can't do enough for you and are all happy and clearly enjoy their work, pool lovely, games room perfect for the kids who all got on really well and made lots of new friends (save all your 50p and pound coins for the table football, pool and pinball!)Lovely little playground too.
Very quiet after about 10.30 so ideal for families with younger kids who need to sleep!
If I had to give any constructive criticism (and this is really nit-picking!) all the soap dispensers were high up in the toilets and the kids couldn't reach them. That's the only fault, apart from that this is the perfect site. Can't wait to go back again!

This is a lovely site both peaceful and tranquil in it's setting with very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to open the well stocked shop out of hours as we had run out of gas and forgotten to pack a spare. Year on year they strive to improve on the already excellent facilities, we loved the soap and hand cream provided in the toilets. The toilet blocks were also cleaned regularly, several times a day. This is our third visit and we shall be visiting again. We have nothing negative to say.

Our first visit to Devon and Woodovis. Extremely helpful wardens, and managers couldn't have done more to make our stay more relaxing. Site is well planned with 2 great dog walks even with doggy waste bags provided should you be caught unawares whilst taking Fido for his walk!
All facilities were extremely clean and of a high standard, with plenty of hot water at all times. Also worth mentioning is that all this lovely hot water is heated by solar power as is the swimming pool, environmentally friendly too!
Nearest town is Tavistock with its Pannier Market, open every day except Monday, and also lovely quaint market town shops. There is both a Somerfied and a Morrisons near the site,so supplies are never far away-having said that there is also a site shop selling the basics including fresh baked croissants and pain au chocolat each morning.Heaven!
Would I recommend Woodovis Park for a camping holiday? I think I just have!

The site is so quiet it is unreal we were there bank holiday weekend when it was full and it was bliss no hustle and bustle.
We arrived early after a long drive and our pitch was not ready so the delightful staff suggested going for a swim !.
Site is very clean and spotless at all times as were showers and toilets.
All the staff are so nice if shop was closed it was no trouble to open for the kids.
The feel of the site was great all the kids of all ages played together and looked out for the younger ones my 5 five yr old was in his element in the games room with the big boys gang lol!
Only 1 little point to make is the fully serviced pitches are along some high trees so satellite reception was a no go but this in no way is a negative point as we never missed it!
Would we return yes with out a doubt and probably will just the 6 and a half hour drive stops us going every week!

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is the site for you. From the moment you arrive you know you are staying at a quality site where everything to make your holiday special has been thought of.
On arrival we were met by friendly staff who showed us to our pitch and explained where all the facilities could be found. We found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly with a good knowledge of the area to help you decide the best places to visit.
The facilities were first class and the showers and loos were spotless. There was always plenty of hot water for the power showers, washing up rooms and laundry.
There were plenty of activities on site if you could tear yourself away form sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet! There is a swimming pool with jacuzzi and sauna, mini golf and even archery in the evening.
The grounds are beautifully kept and there is an extensive dog walk through the woods. There are even poo bags provided in case you have forgotten your own!
The shop is well stocked and even had Woodovis own label wine that was very reasonably priced and very good! The bread baked every morning is lovely, you just need to order it the day before and collect it still hot in the morning!
Woodovis is quite an expensive site to stay on but it is like the difference between a Travelodge and a five star hotel. You will not be disappointed!

We booked 11 nights at Woodovis for us and our dog in a large caravan. We were met by a lovely warden who showed us to our pitch, we were lucky enough to choose our own! We had a full service pitch with drainage and water. We loved not having to drag the water waste everyday!
The site was spotless and more than we could have hoped for. Peaceful, in fact the quietest site we have ever been too! Spacious pitch, and spotless toilets. We used the games room for a game of pool in the evening and used the swimming pool and jacuzzi most days. Lovely after a day of walking on the moors.
Location was excellent 5 mins from Tavistock, a lovely market town and a handy Morrisons for shopping. There is a Waitrose in Saltash too! Excellent walk for the dog down the beautiful half mile driveway which we used every night. Lots of dog poo bins, with free bags in case you run out! it seems like they have thought of everything! Go now!

Just returned from our second trip to Woodovis and can't recommend it enough! The team are always friendly and on hand and the site is always spotless. The showers (of which there are plenty) are always hot and run from taps so none of this tokens or push button rubbish! The pool was fab and enjoyed by all. Tavistock is the nearest main town and is only a quick jaunt down the road and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants near by. Quiet site with plenty for young families and older couples alike. Would I recommend it? I have!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and would not hesitate to stay again. Yes the children's playground is not very good but the children manage to play in either the games room or big field. The site has no club house or disco etc so is very peaceful and after 10pm is a haven for sleepers! Shop could do with opening up longer hours but to be honest if you haven't got it by 10 am you can wait till 4pm to open I'm sure. Site is close to Travistock shops/market. Lovely friendly staff and clean toilet and showers round off this excellent site. We look forward to staying again real soon.

This is a fantastic site for couples, families and the elderly! We are a family and we all had a great time. We were met by the friendly staff and shown the facilities and then walked to our pitch.
The site was well set out with plenty of room on each pitch and loads of room around it. The whole site was clean and well kept. The kids were swimming in the indoor pool every day while we relaxed in the lovely quiet location with fantastic views. We will certainly visit again.
