Just returned from a 'its hot lets go camping trip'.

This was or first visit to this site but would definitely go again.

Toilets Very clean, facilities where as described. Two fields to choose from, one for just chilling and watching the sunset. Another for families to play on.

There was no noise after 10:45 and the whole site was very clean and tidy.

What a wonderful site, my husband and our two French Bulldogs arrived at reception and were greeted with a smile, having been shown to our pitch right by the river (perfect location) we were immediately pleased and couldn't wait to get the tent up!

We took a walk to the bees knees as the ferry boat is currently getting a refurb (we'll be back to check this out soon:) ) it took around 15 mins and our dogs were greeted with so much fuss we felt left out haha the ales were fab and food even better!

The facilities back at the site were excellent, ice, showers and a lovely kitchen. We bought fire wood from reception too.

We can't wait to return!

Had a fantastic weekend camping with a group of friends. This as my 5th visit to Trentfields and once again it was brilliant. We were in the rally field, which we all preferred. Great games of football and rounders enjoys by all. Friendly welcome with us being shown to our pitch. Toilets and showers are always clean. From initial booking to the end of the weekend it was brilliant. Highly recommend the site. There are pubs in walking distance. We really like the bee keeper!

We booked for two nights with a large tent as a family of four including two kids, 6 and 8. We chose the site as we could not get in at Clumber Park and we were very happy with our choice.

We had a standard non electric pitch in the large open rally field. We were met at reception and shown to a pitch with was flat and had plenty of space for our two cars (my wife arrived late due to work). The field is huge and the site was quite busy but the owners kept everyone to the edges which meant our kids had plenty of space to charge around on their bikes and play cricket / football. They quickly made friends and we were confident they were in a safe place.

The showers, toilets, washing up area and freezers etc were all clean and in good working condition and it was clear the owners were making a big effort to maintain a good standard on a busy bank holiday weekend.

We were provided an excellent info leaflet on arrival which give clear rules and expectations. Pleasingly everything went quiet at about 10 each night and we all got a decent nights sleep.

After seeing the rating of 8/10 very hopeful of a pleasant experience. How wrong can you be. Very basic toilet facilities, unheated, one hand dryer, grubby floors and showers. The field was a playground with numerous ball games and all for the princely sum of eighty pounds for three nights!not what I call value for money. Left after one night.
Management response: Dear UK Campsite reviewer:
Thank you for taking the time to post a review of the park. It is very disappointing that you did not take the time to raise your concerns at Reception, as we take any issues raised very seriously.

As I pointed out to you on the phone, if you had discussed the matters on the day, we would have done everything to either re site you, refund you, and of course address the issues you have raised. Managing people's expectations is a very tricky task sometimes!

The night that you stayed was exceptionally cold, and with a busy toilet block, heat is sometimes difficult to maintain, again, being a bank holiday the toilets were busy, although regularly serviced, and damp cold conditions make cleaning an even more challenging and ongoing task. With regards to one hand drier, we have 1 for 3 sinks. I'm sorry that this is not enough, and the first time this ever been raised.

We advertise the site as being family friendly, and we do have family ball games taking place, as the field is plenty big enough to do so. This is something that people rarely get to do at home or on other sites. We are sorry that this family pastime has upset you.

Finally, £80 is a package price for 2 people, electric, your pitch from 8am to 8pm on Monday - A price that we have held for over 4 years, which we are regularly complemented on and we still consider this to be great value.

Just back from a lovely weekend at this site. We were in the mostly caravan field along with friends in 2 caravans and a tent. The power station is clearly visible from this field but really isn't an issue. If you don't like the look of it you can just turn your back!

The field is well-kept, flat and well-drained. The wash rooms were clean with plenty of hot water, loo roll and soap. The pot-wash area was spotless, and although some of the sinks had 'out of order' signs on, I think this was just because the individual hot water boilers had been turned off for the low season. The site was fairly quiet on the Friday night but busier on Saturday, but we didn't have to queue for anything.

The chap in the reception was very friendly and gave us a useful info booklet on arrival. He also lent us an EHU splitter so our group could all share one EHU and pitch together. There were no strict rules about exactly how to pitch either, which was nice. We were able to arrange ourselves in a square in the middle, around the EHU post.

We ate out at the Bees Knees both nights as it had better reviews than the closer pub (Ferry Boat). These turned out to be well-justified: the ale at the Ferry Boat was poorly-kept and the service below par, but the Bees Knees was just that! Friendly service, tasty food and delicious ales and ciders from their own on-site micro brewery. Hubby was very happy!

As others have said, there's not a lot to do within walking distance of the site, but we took a 30 min drive each day to Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest, both of which were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay at this nice site and would visit again.

I stayed for just one night on a cycle tour along the Trent so this site was ideal as it's right next to the river. Tents have their own field and the loo blocks aren't far off. The facilities are nice and clean, loos, sinks, three showers - one large and two really rather small, but with a shower curtain so your stuff doesn't get wet. Wash-up room with lots of sinks though some were out of order.

There was no sign or sound of the power station from the tent field.

Great area for cycling, very peaceful.

I hope to get over to this site again.

Visited Trentfield last week as part of a group, 4 tents 2 with EHU and 2 without.

We were pitched on the field on the right, which meant EHU on one post but this was fine for us, all others in this field seemed to be non EHU.

The field is flat, with a bank to one side between the field and the River Trent. There are lovely flat walks from the site along the banks of the river, great for dogs, but nothing else to do in the immediate area, this suited us as our main aim was to relax and spend time together.

When we arrived on the Thursday our field was empty, but by Saturday it was very busy. The shower room was always clean day and night.

The pot washing room was spotless, and the welcome from the staff was fantastic.

We walked to the Ferry Boat for dinner, which was good, not Michelin stars but we didn't expect that, just clean pub grub and excellent ales!

Bad points - the site being busy on the weekend meant queues for the showers and toilets as there are only 3 of each in the ladies and 3 hand basins. I think more are needed if the site is regularly busy!

However we had a great time and would recommend this site for small well-behaved groups.

We have been here twice this year and due to go again soon. We are two adults and two small children.

Staff friendly and helpful on arrival.

Facilities good and generally clean. Never needed to wait for shower which is really very powerful!

Love the large camping field which the kids (and adults) which is pretty flat. There is another camping field to the right of reception which we have not stayed in so can't really comment.

Lovely walk along the Trent north past the power station and south to the pub.

Lovely and close to Sundown, 5 minutes away, the reason we use the campsite regularly.

Great that we can book a late departure on Sunday for a small amount more.

We were greeted by the owner at Reception and found him most helpful. We were given an information booklet which we found very good, giving loads of suggestions of places to visit. We were shown to our pitch which was a large size. The site was very clean and the staff extremely helpful. They welcomed dogs so were were able to take our King Charles with us. It was a very quiet site which was great for us. Washing facilities were clean with plenty of hot water and the showers were great. There is a freezer which you can use to put frozen food/ice packs in which is great for people with tents. There was a short walk alongside the river to the pub which provided lovely food at reasonable prices. Staff were very happy. Overall, a lovely site and would definitely visit again.
