Access to this site is very easy with the wide site entrance being less than 1/2 mile from the exit of the M53.
With that convenience comes the associated noise pollution from the nearby M53 and M56 as well as aircraft approaching Liverpool to land.
The site is well spaced out, and pitches are large gravel hard standing. If shopping is your thing the massive Cheshire Oaks out of town retail park is within walking distance.
Eating out is also made simple with both a Harvester and Hungry Horse within a short walk of the site.

What a fantastic location for a site, 6 miles from the delightful town of Chester, 15 miles to seacombe ferry for Liverpool and Chester oaks outlet village within walking distance of the site. There is a hungry horse pub and a harvester within easy walking distance (both highly recommended) apart from many other places to eat at the outlet village.
The usual caravan club standards apply, a well kept site and spotless facilities with very friendly wardens. We stopped here on our way to the highlands of Scotland but will definitely return to spend a whole week or more

What a wonderful welcome you get at this site all the wardens are really super they make you so welcome. The caravan club should make all new wardens spend time working here and learn how it really should be done.
The weather was awful and our awning floor flooded but that's been our summer a lot of pitches were the same but it was a good stay and we had to make the best of it great location for shopping and eating Chester is very nice.
The only downside to this site is the showers they really really need to be upgraded they are old and in real need of replacement there are only 6 showers for a large site that means a line of people waiting to use them even off season.
They have plenty of cubicles for washing and toilets but these days most people want a good shower. There was one shower closed the whole week for repair.

Ok so it helped that the weekend we were here was over 80deg but we had a fabulous time.
We booked this site some time ago thinking we would be able to park up and meander over to Cheshire Oaks designer outlet village which is within walking distance and it was its just that it was too hot to even think about shopping so we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the site and never moved for two full days.
The bathroom facilities were excellent, proper showers that you can switch on and have a lovely temperature controlled shower.
There are three lovely pubs close by, chain pubs and one is very close so really good to eat or just drop in for a drink.
Reception sells a few bits and bobs if you need them.
All in all lovely and we will go back for the shopping soon!

A superb site, the facilities were excellent and the wardens extremely friendly and helpful, we went out, leaving our electric cable on our pitch to show it was being used. Unfortunately a first time caravanner did not realise the significance of the cable and parked on our pitch, put up his awning and then took our cable to the reception, thinking it had been left there by accident. The wardens were very good and were waiting for us when we came back. They immediately explained the situation and had already put a marker on another better pitch for us. The site is a 10 minute drive from Chester zoo where you can get park and ride into Chester, which is the most amazing city, really old buildings and modern shops. The cathedral is beautiful and well worth a visit. There is also the fantastic Cheshire Oaks Designer outlet 10 minutes walk away - it I hadn't have had hubby with me, could have spent a fortune. Brilliant site and location.

Just spent a long weekend here, 27th April to the 30th April, worst weather we could have picked to go in, wettest April everywhere, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, even allowing for my mistakes when pitching up incorrectly! they said not to worry about it as we had plenty of room around us.It is a lovely site nicely laid out, you are not jammed in like some sites. The toilet and shower block were lovely, clean, and warm.
The only negative is that entrance/waiting area is not wide enough for caravans etc to wait without blocking the site entrance for other people.
As for eating in the pubs mentioned in other reviews we only tried two, The Rake - good beer - food is cheap + cheerful, but the tables were sticky, not wiped often enough. Also tried the Old Hall Farm they had a few 'real ales' well kept, the food 2 for 1 offer is good value, the service is good also.If you look on their website you can also download a voucher for a free drink. We will be going again. I have only marked my reviews down because of the narrow entrance road/waiting area on the site

We have been to this site many times, this time we were joined by our daughter and family.
This is a superb site and always look forward to returning. The wardens are very friendly and keep the site in tip top condition.
Good size flat gravel pitches with good space between, rock pegs needed for awning, very quiet and relaxing, a small children's play area maybe for the under 7's.
The one toilet block is usually kept very clean and tidy. On this occasion due to the Bank Holiday and a full site, the toilet bowls left not flushed, toilet paper thrown about, men and ladies were in the same state, this was over a four day period. This is not the fault of the wardens but the people on site!
There are several pubs for food just outside the caravan site. Park and ride to go into Chester a lovely interesting place to visit not forgetting Chester Zoo. The large Fairoaks Designer Outlet for the shoppers on site.
Sainsbury is in easy reach for food shopping.
I would recommend this site, lots to do in this area and keeps you busy.
We will be back.

This is a fantastically located site and really well situated for visiting Liverpool, Manchester, Wales. Within walking distance of two pubs which does really good pub grub. It is also within walking distance of the Fairoaks Designer Retail Outlet, which is also next door to Sainsburys, a Cinema, KFC. , etc.
The site is immaculate, the Wardens very friendly and the usual Caravan Club high standards.
We were booked in for 6 nights and tried to extend our stays by another 2 nights because we were enjoying the area so much but unfortunately they were fully booked and the Warden did keep our name on a list in case of cancellations but there were none.
The only negative is perhaps the road noise which might put some people off but we were not sitting outside our rig all day/every day & could not hear it at night, so it did not bother us at all.
Will definitely return to this site.

We stayed at this site for the new year, very good clean toilets/showers. The wardens made us feel very welcome and invited us to join them for drinks new years eve but we all went to walk up to the local for a meal and then walked back and had a glass of bubbly with friends on the next pitch. There is a fantastic retail park close to the site that has every shop you can think of, we also went into Chester one day and walked the city walls, really enjoyed it and once again the shopping was fantastic. The site is very well placed and has lots happening around including Chester zoo that is only a few miles away and worth visiting.

Fantastic all year round campsite. Typical caravan club standards. Very high. The pitches were of an excellent size, the toilet and shower block were very warm and the water was a constant warm temperature as-well, only thing which could be improved on would be serviced pitches and indoor dish washing area.
Anyway. If you need to couple up some Christmas shopping or just shopping with caravanning this site is ideal with Cheshire oaks within walking distance if you feel up for walking there that is, otherwise its a 5 minute drive! TV reception is excellent, Wi-Fi is available with a speed of about 600k.
As far as we could see all the pitches were level and all had electric hook up. Sainsbury, s is also within easy reach as well for all your grocery needs.
