A friendly welcome to Holly Bush with the offer of tea or coffee and a complete tour of the park and facilities was very much appreciated, and after we said we'd come for walking the owners offered us up their OS ma of the area.
Small site with caravans round the edge and tents in the centre, a few trees with birdfeeders.
Seemed to be a place people went back to say everyone seemed to know everyone else. The other campers were all really friendly and even offered us camp furniture whilst they were away.
The facilities: showers and toilets, were clean, modern and warm. No need to queue for a shower in the morning, plenty to go around.
The small onsite shop stocks the essentials: bread, milk etc. However there is no where within walking distance to do any more shopping.
The pub up the road was alright and fairly priced but we made the trip to the Lamb and Flag in Blagdon Hill for lunch one day and very much enjoyed it.
Some lovely walks in the surrounding Black Hills and accessed opposite the park entrance. However these are not for the faint hearted and proper walking boots are recommended.
We enjoyed our visit here and would go again.

One of the best sites we have ever visited. Rachel, the cheerful and more than helpful owner, offered us a cup of tea when we arrived and let us choose where we wanted to pitch. The site was lovely and quiet. Many people seemed to be "regulars" and everyone was really friendly. The facilities were excellent. Everything was extremely clean and the showers were lovely and hot at all times. The pub 200 yards down the road was very welcoming but we didn't eat there owing to a lack of facilities for non smokers. Warning - take a torch - it's very dark on the way back! We will definitely return to this lovely site.

This was our 3rd site in 9 days of camping and was an absolute delight. It is only small but perfect. Rachel, who runs it, was very welcoming. She is there all the time and I don't know how she gets everything done as she is always happy to stop for a chat! Everything was very clean and tidy, showers are hot. Small shop for essentials open all day. Try the individual tubs of Styles ice cream. Very dog friendly. She will also supply you with a list of clear printed instruction for dog walks. Forestry land across the road is the 'official' dog walk. Beware the speed of local traffic on this road. Quiet enough to hear them as you go out of the gate. The pub 200 yards up the road serves very good food including lovely fresh fish and shellfish but don't expect small portions! Dogs will be welcomed with a hand full of biscuits. Very good farm shop 6 miles away called Wallace's. They have herd's of shaggy Highland cattle, red deer and bison and you can go on a walk round the farm to see them all. When you leave there is a National Trust car park opposite the end of the farms drive on the left which gives access to some lovely woodland walks. Will go back and explore some more soon.

August 2005 We have just come back from a week at Holly Bush and can safely say it was an enjoyable and relaxing one. The owners Gary & Rachel were so accomodating and walk you round when you first arrive to let you know where everything is. Toilets, Laundry Room everything really clean. Shop on site had most of what was needed. Local pub literally staggering distance, excellent food, highly recommended. The site is only 40 caravans and tents so lovely and quite and you get to know people who were all really friendly. The woods to walk in again were minutes away, great for dog owners. A lovely stay.

August 2004 Wow, thats all I can say.
Beautiful camping land and the toilets were shiny clean.
The owners were fantastic and were a great help.
Other campers were very polite.
Facilities are all you need, ie. Showers, Toilets, Sinks, Washing Machine + much more.
If you are thinking about camping around the Taunton area do it at Holly Bush Park.

August 2003 We found this to be a small and friendly site which reflects the fact that the owners work hard to make the grounds attractive and a the whole site a pleasant place. It was easy to find from the A303 or from Taunton and is in a good position for visiting either Lyme Regis or the Minehead area. The camping area is grass, with scattered trees for shade and the touring pitches are informally grouped on the centre of the site. The toilet block and laundry/washing up area were kept clean and checked regularly. You can buy essentials like bread & milk and gas on site, and Taunton or Chard are not far away for bigger shopping trips. There is also a double room available for bed and breakfast. As it is a small site, it is probably wise to book in advance. We will certainly add it to our list of favourite sites and hope to visit again shortly.
