This site has nice views of the sea from parts of the site, a good shop and a decent sized children's play area. The food from the outdoor cafe was good and not too expensive. Most of the site was fairly sheltered for a coastal site.

However, in the busy summer holidays, the holiday price hike in my opinion does not offer good value for money. The site was crowded and they did not allow worn or tired pitches to rest, resulting in many pitches being muddy with dead grass (not always the beautiful lawns they advertise on their website).

I appreciate the site was very busy with many users of the toilet facilities but during these busy times they needed to be cleaned more than once a day. There were no hand dryers in our toilet block, which was supposed to be the luxury end of the site, no mops or buckets to clean up the showers after use and nothing to wipe your feet on before entering the toilet/shower block which meant that grass and mud was continually being trampled into the block.

The pool was warmish but the wall linings of the pool were very rough and two of my children, and other children staying at the site, grazed their fingers on the sides of the pool (Beware!).

The road to the site was a bit narrow but as I live in a rural area this did not bother me as I'm used to it.

We've been coming to Seaview for nine years now in a variety of outfits and there's little to be said that hasn't been said already. Facilities are generally good and the location, although out on a limb, is pretty good for an awful lot of the major attractions in Cornwall.

The toilet block was given a major overhaul a couple of years ago and we keep hoping, each year, to find the same of the shower block, which is now looking a little tired; the showers are the 'push to operate for a few seconds' variety, which is an irritation, as well as a chore if you have a child in there with you! There's no temperature adjustment and the thermostat on the system can be a little, shall we say, interesting sometimes! A little tidying up and more frequent cleaning of the large toilet blocks would go an awfully long way to keep impressions good.

Overall though, a very good site. Little things like the removal of bins from the, quite expensive, all service pitches are quite irritating, as the nearest bin to our pitch was quite some walk away near the site entrance. The, also quite expensive, washing machines also no-longer dispense washing powder, which means a three-quarters of an hour round trip to St Austell for washing powder that we're no allergic to!

Lovely site, but possibly becoming a little complacent with its previous successes!

I stayed at Seaview International for 6 nights in mid June. Getting there is an adventure when towing a caravan of any significant size. Very narrow lanes on approach.

The site was very well presented with well kept grass areas, play areas, picnic areas and a great outdoor pool. The views are fabulous, so its a trade off between remoteness and views.

The toilet and shower blocks were clean and well maintained, the shop and takeaway functional. However, be aware that the site is next to a large dairy farm which those of you who do not like to sounds and smells of agriculture may struggle with. I'm Cornsih and have no problem with this but the smell was very strong when the wind changed.

Also the site is very remote. This can be both a plus and a minus. Nearest supermarket is 20 minutes away at least, nearest beach is a stiff walk away if you're a mountain goat and even the main St Austell to Mevagisey road gets fairly tight in places.

Prices went from £10 to £20 per night during my stay. The staff were polite and friendly, if in need of a little maths homework. Do visit the Lost gardens of heligan. I'm no gardener but the jungle valley blew my mind.

Brilliant campsite as lovely location, nice views and kindly staff.

But do not choose Bank Holiday or time of school holidays as too cramped. You can hear every word or cough in neighbouring tents.

In addition, the toilet block needs cleaning on a regular basis as it very dirty. This is a key point as most campsites are based on the cleanliness of the toilets.

The pool is meant to be heated but it was freezing cold.

If these minor points were rectified then this could be a five star campsite as promoted in their literature.

Oh, one more point. The Warden needs to do regular checks after 10.30pm as other campers are not adhering to the Curfew and noise travels all over the campsite. I could hear people when at the other end of the campsite as it was so loud.

Have been going to this campsite for about 16 years, kids have grown up holidaying there and love it. The park is great for kids, the pool is warm and the site is geared towards the family. No bar or clubs ensures a nice relaxed atmosphere. The best beach is caerhayes (castle beach) which is a short drive away, suggest stopping for cream tea at farm/b&b on way back. Beach down hill by campsite is a nice walk but steep, not for small kids.

Toilets are always clean and showers are hot but not too hot.

Shop stocks usual things for a campsite shop and is also an off licence.

My kids have returned there as adults and kept in touch with people they have met there when younger, as families return year after year(that says it all).

Very clean friendly campsite. We paid £9 per night with electric early September 2009

The toilet and shower facilities are up there with the best I’ve seen on a campsite but the showers were a little hot and not really suitable for small children because there is no option to vary the heat, the baths would have been the perfect solution but cost £1 to fill.

The pot washing facilities are clean and spacious with microwaves and a small cooker with 2 x hobs on top.

The chemical waste disposal is clean and not unpleasant.

The swimming pool is genuinely warm and inviting.

The take away is open Friday and Saturday nights, it's not the cheapest and the food is only ok and nothing to write home about. This annoyed me because the nearest supermarket is a 30 mile round trip it felt like the take away exploited this which I felt was evident from the quality and price of the food.

The on site shop??! I didn't understand how they came to the conclusion for some of the things they sold. They had the basics but nothing more than that but then sold non essential things.

Location - far too far away from anything along narrow country roads only just suitable for a car towing a caravan and the passing places on the road to the campsite are only just big enough if at all.

Local beaches - DO NOT attempt to drive to the nearest beach, the road is only just wide enough for a small car, this is something that is not made clear enough in the brochure or when booking in at reception. The other beach is about 2 miles away and is really lovely and full of mussels your can pick and eat at low tide and just across the road from a castle. Neither of these beaches is accessible to walk to with a young family or if your prepared to have a longer walk than you might expect.

Pitch - ours was in shade muddy and cold. It felt like ours was one of the 3 which didn't bask in sunlight all day. So if you do book and are offered pitch 1, 2 or 3 say a big firm no!

Laundrette - clean and tidy but £5 per load! That did include washing detergent and conditioner but I’d have rather used my own and paid less

Child facilities - really good play ground but he staff drive round the pitches like lunatics on their quads and on their lawn mowers

Overall a nice site. A more well thought out shop and a bar on site would make this site more desirable to us as we camp in a Tent on cold nights there is no respite from the cold unless you drive 15 miles to st austell and find a pub or restaurant or stand in the toilet block on site!

A good flat site with clean facilities.

Key Pros: A lovely warm swimming pool which was steaming in the cooler evenings.

Key Cons: The mens showers were far to hot and did not have the facility to adjust the temperature. Really uncomfortable for me and totally unsuitable for my 4 year old son (I had to wash him in a bath that was in an adjoining bathroom).

The location was a bit out of the way and the walk to the beach is not suitable for kids under 6. However, there is an excellent beach about 2 miles away – called PorthLooney. Easy parking and lots of room when the tide is out.

The take away was reasonable although be careful as it can sometimes close early if there is a lack of customers.

The play area was excellent for kids from 3 to 15.

We had a fantastic time at sea view. We also almost had great weather the whole fortnight. We had a centre pitch with hook up right next to the water, waste and bins which was great we didn't have to walk far. The staff in all departments were very friendly, the shop was ok providing you took all your essentials with you. Campers kitchen was very well kept and there were some campers cooking full dinners in there so was well equipped.

The shower block was always clean well the ladies was anyway even the bath was clean which was good because our son loves his bath so it was well worth a pound. I loved the idea of arriving home with no dirty clothes thanks to the laundrette.

Our son loved the park every bit of it was child friendly and at 2yr old needed to be there was also plenty of space for him to run around. The beaches we went to were beautifully kept but a sun canopy is needed when the sun is out it gets very hot.

We visited the donkey sanctuary which our son loved with its in door play barn and donkey rides.

The site is located down very narrow windy roads which was a little tight for our van but manageable, and is a short drive away from any activity but it depends what you want from your holiday. We had a fab time and would recommend this site to anyone we would revisit again and not be sorry.

Nice site, friendly staff, grass pitch was good. Very clean loos and even radio played in there so there is something to sing to when in the shower. Takeaway open on fri/sat which was nice, outdoor pool very clean and was warm. Great play areas for the little ones.

Would I go back? Yes if it was not so far away and the weather improved. :)

(for us it's just too long a drive from Oxford, traffic was really bad both ways)

The site is very high up (hence the sea view) its very windy so when the rain hits, it really hits. However, I am now happy that the new Dorema awning has been truly well tested. (45mph winds + rain).

 Excellent campsite.

THE PITCH: It was a quiet week at Sea View so luckily we got a good choice of pitch. Excellent position with an amazing view of the Sea.

THE STAFF: Very helpful and polite. Always say good morning / afternoon and just a really friendly feel to the place.

THE FACILITIES: Perfect. Nothing much else I can say. The sinks for doing your washing up were clean (very clean in fact) hot water all the time, lovely clean showers and baths. Nice little shop on site that sells pretty much all you need. For kids there is a massive play area a swimming pool and a games room. Perfect.

THE LOCATION: As long as you don't mind a bit of a drive then the location of the site is quite good. I found it to be a little out of the way but saying that I think that is just to do with the fact that I’m used to the hustle and bustle of the city and was a bit of a culture shock. Nearest pub is around 2 - 3 miles (around about a 25 minute walk) the beach is about a 15 minute walk.

WHO DOES IT SUIT: Everyone. I think out of School holidays is good if you want a quiet getaway like me and my partner but I would imagine that during the school holidays it gets quite busy.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR: The washing machines are a little bit pricey at £6 a pop. The showers are hot and probably a little too hot for kids but there are baths available.

Overall we had a really good stay. I can highly recommend this site and I will definitely be returning. Very good value for money.
