Maggor Farm is an ideal campsite for those of you who prefer to not book and see what the weather is doing before you get out all your camping gear and brave the great outdoors. Having visited this site on two occasions I would recommend it for the amount of space you are given in high season(tents are not guy rope to guy rope) and the good value for money. It is a quiet campsite tucked away and could be tricky to find if you hadn't just stumbled across it. The toilet block is one of those older buildings with quite a few moths and spiders and the showers floors are concrete but hey, you get what you pay for! The water is fine and the showers are warm - and work. The farmer collects the money directly from your tent in the morning where you can pay for one night, a couple of nights or whatever. Really quite a laid back affair! Also,he doesn't wake you up if you are due him money and lets you settle up next time. The site is quite a good size and is right next to a lovely country park and golf course. Everyone likes a bit of luxury however this site although basic is a reliable favourite to a number of people I met on the site.

I have just returned from a week at Magor Farm with my wife, three children and mother who is 79 and still camping. Magor Farm is what I can only describe as THE perfect site if you have children and want a peaceful family holiday. It is camping as it used to be, basic but extremely functional.
I was showering at all times of the day and had no problem with hot water at all. Toilets and shower units are very clean and bright. The site still works under the system of "Pitch where you like and we'll see you in the morning." However, Mr Williams does come around in his car when you get there just to enquire if you had a good journey and if everything is OK.
Mr Williams is a very helpful man and a hive of information about the surrounding beaches, walks, pubs, and places of interest, and it seemed to me as though he couldn't do enough to help. If you want pubs, clubs and entertainment, go somewhere else. If you want a relaxing, peaceful and tranquil holiday, go to Magor Farm. This is a beautiful site. My whole family and I didn't want to leave, and we will DEFINATELY be going there again.

August 2003 First visit to this site, just a had job finding it! Local post office didnt know it! When we finally found it, it was just as described, really laid back, and very quiet and peaceful. We pitched with a small stream running at the back of the tent, very relaxing listening to running water, and horses in that field came to drink from it. Mr Williams and Bert are very nice, and nothing is too much trouble for them. If you were in bed when he came in the morning,he didnt wake you up, but just kept returning until you were up, no problem. Showers were ok, but a bit hit and miss with the hot water, usually cold in the morning and the best time for hot water was around 6.30pm. Lovely relaxing holiday and very reasonable on price too, would recommend it.

August 2003 This site has a beautiful setting and has many devotees who return to visit every summer. It is exactly as the website describes - "camping as it used to be". This is true right down to the details like the kind of 'tracing paper' toilet paper I haven't seen since my schooldays! During busy periods the hot water for showers runs out fairly early in the day, which for those of us with tents and small children was sometimes a bit disappointing. I also felt that the shower and toilet facilities could really do with a thorough deep clean, and I am not usually particularly hard to please in that department!

August 2002 This is a pleasant and pretty site. Long and tree-lined with hook-ups down part of one side. There is no reception, so just pitch up where you can find a space. Mr. Williams, the site owner comes around regularly in his car (generally mornings and evenings) to see you. There is a simple playground, with swings, seesaw and roundabout. The facilities are basic but adequate. Showers are free. They are reminiscent of the 50’s, with green painted woodwork and cream walls. It is ideally situated for exploring the superb National Trust beaches and coastline on the north of the peninsular, and equally, for visiting, Hayle, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole on the south. Also, right next to the excellent Tehidy Country Park. We stayed for one week with another family, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Well worth a visit!
