3 unisex Showers, 20p gives sufficient time for two people to have a quick shower.
Male toilets cramped, 3 handbasins right next to urinals and no room to get washed without other squeezing past to get to the loos.
No pot washing facilities, some toilet basins were filthy due to other campers washing BBQ's in them.
£12 for two people and one tent.
Over 50% static caravans, not many were occupied when we were there.
Electric hookups are available.
Grass was long and ground uneven. Take care driving along mud roadway with a low clearance vehicles.
There a couple of reception signs which vaguely point towards the back of the campsite. Reception turned out to be the house but was not clearly signed. I called at the back door and someone inside the house shouted come round the side. After some searching I found a small open window into a kitchen (Head to the right from the door.) The welcome was hard to describe within the rules of this website. The owners do not like dogs.
There is a chain pub next door. On the saturday night we visited and were surprised to hear that the landlord had suspended food orders because the kitchen was two hours behind. Beware of camping near the pub, the coolers and clients make a lot of noise.
Also beware of camping near the house, it has a number of chickens and geese running free.
Over the bridge and up the road to the traffic lights is a chinese run pub, the beer, food and service is excellent and reasonably priced.
There is a pedestrian exit near the house to avoid walking round a dangerous bend in the road and another gate at the side of the pub.
In conclusion the site is basic and would benifit from a few signs, rules and washbasins. The facilities are adequate (just). Dont expect a warm welcome and bring a washing up bowl.
In mitigation of all these negative comments the location is excellent, fishing in the Thames is available on site and there is good walking near by.
We will go back, simply for the fishing and to walk the Thames path in the other direction.

Much as others have said - You pay the lady in her house. It is surrounded with chickens etc.
It is located on the banks of the Thames so there are lots of lovely walks.
The Barley Mow pub is not that great, and although it was raining, they wouldn't let the dog inside, which is a bit of a shame (although sadly too common these days).
There is some road noise, and the road is quite busy and not that easy to walk along.
There seems to be plenty of room on site, and there are static caravans too.
I didn't use the showers as you have to put the money in outside and then go to the room.
Basically, this is an okay little site at a riverside location.

Just had 4 nights here and didn't want to go home! The weather helped as it was very hot. As adults only and our daughter had gone away with the school we chose this site to have a peaceful time away from children and wasn't disappointed.
The bad points;
No soap supplied in the toilets
No payment by card
No washing up area
20p for shower
10p for hot water in toilets
Barley Mow pub
The good points;
Location
Views
Beautiful bridge
Pitch anywhere
Walks/Cycle rides
The Plough Inn
The Railway Inn
Thatch roofed village
Post office/shop, ideal for getting cash
Wildlife on site
The toilet block was ok and had apparently got a lot cleaner than previous years, we used our own shower, I did find it very off to not have soap in a toilet though.
Wouldn't hesitate in going back as the setting of the site and area were fantastic.

Fantastic location.
You cant beat the views of the river and surrounding area. The owners seem very nice and you can pitch where you want,a normal 25m electric lead is absolutely fine. The toilet blocks are of the older type but the floorings have been updated and everywhere is freshly painted and every thing is very clean. There's even a launderette!
A great place for chilling out with the geese, ducks, hens and other wild life.

A superb location. It is right on the Thames by a beautiful bridge. You can walk for miles along the river foot paths. You can pitch wherever you like and it's not crowded. The site owner was very friendly.
The toilets were uncared for. You had to pay 20p for a shower. You had to pay 10p for hot water but you could get the coin back. Although on a C road it is used as a cut through so is very busy. In a tent the noise was intrusive.

The wife and I decided to get away from the South and South East caravan sites and branch North. A caravanning friend suggested Bridge House site and we booked a week.
We were well rewarded, not only by Liz at the house and her broods of chickens, ducks and geese first thing in the morning but the serenity of the pitch, quiet and peaceful, (a must for us 'old 'uns'),I loved the opportunity for some river fishing and we enjoyed the good food at the pub just over the other side of the fence.
Toilets and washing facilities were of a standard according to the country site albeit 20p for the shower was a bit different but acceptable.
The short drive into Abingdon was pleasant and the local people friendly and welcoming.
Our two lifelong friends had joined us the previous night from Derby for a few days and they loved the site.
We are booking another week,'or two' for June this year with our Derby mates and look forward to that stay with pleasure.

The fallen down sheds etc which were mentioned in a previous review are still there and are now becoming part of the picturesque scenery.
The lady who operates the site returned my phone call and was most friendly and helpful. We were told to go wherever we wanted and sited our caravan a couple of feet from the river; the electric hookup was more than 25 metres away but that's why we carry a spare.
Although a minor road passes the site, the only noise was from ducks and geese.
The toilets are rather old fashioned and basic but we found them to be reasonably clean.
The pub, which serves food, is next door but it's car park is on the other side of the road so there was no problem with noise. Just over the bridge is the `thatched cottage` village with a shop / post office which sold everything we asked for.
We used this site as a base to visit Oxford and found very convenient; taking around 15minutes by car. We'd certainly return here

The site is beautiful on the river with lots of space to pitch. There are no designated areas, so you can just pitch where there is a space. We went right by the river, so lovely views when having our breakfast. Resident geese, ducks, swans, chickens, rabbits roam the site. The Barley Mow pub is just across the field through a gate, which is a lovely pub with nice food and outside patio area. There is also another pub over the bridge but didn't try this one. The village is very pretty with thatched cottages. Nice walks along the Thames, walked into Dorchester where there are two hotels and a pub. Took about 2 hours to walk there. Downside of the site, as other people have mentioned is the run down toilets and shower blocks which aren't very clean either. Also expensive, £12 per night to pitch a tent. If you can put up with the lack of facilities, it is a great site in a pretty area.

A fantastic spot, right next to the river. On arrival you need to go to the house and knock on the kitchen window. We were in a tent and were allowed to pitch right by the river as long as you aren't obstructing the bank for other users. Fishing is free. £12 a night per tent which we thought was very reasonable.
There are some statics on the site and some tourers. Toilets are old but clean with plenty of loo roll. Two wet rooms at 20p for a shower.
No children allowed (which is probably why we managed to get in here during school hols) which suited us just fine.
There is a gate that leaves the site right next door to the Barley Mow pub. What a lovely thatched place that is. There is seating outside and quite an extensive menu. Quite pricey though, one pine of cider and a large white wine was £8.01.
Five mins walk over the bridge to post office which shuts at 1pm on Saturday and 11am on Sunday. You can get basic provisions, pastries, papers etc. Opposite the end of that road is another pub, The Plough. They do Chinese food but we only stopped in for a drink on the way back from Abingdon.
Bus stop is on the road that the Plough is on. We went to Abingdon. Buses run every hour. The last one back on a Saturday is 5.15pm. I think it was Heyfordian Travel so you could check their site for times.
We weren't told where the standpipes are but managed to find them, quite obscure. One is in the middle of the site by a tree and the other is near 2 derelict statics (from previous floods), next to a good static.
There isn't a washing up point.
Would definitely return.

We stayed at this site after finding it through U.K Campsites. The site is lovely as long as you like ducks/geese/swans etc(which we do). We were made welcome and allowed to park where ever we chose and took up offer of the hook up.1 night totalling £16.00. Although other reviews mentioned children it is stated that it is an 18+ site. But there were a few kiddies ball kicking. I would definitely use this site again although I will mention the one downside. The toilets and 'shower'. The latter is a huge shower room and that's it, no towel rail/shelving/ shampoo/soap holder just a shower, which to my horror was void of any water from the hot tap!, as it was late and I didn't wish to disturb the frail old lady I said nothing. Beware!.The toilets again housed no hot water and were basic and not too clean. Didn't have time to visit the very close pub nor take the riverside walk. Perhaps next time
