Nice site for a weekend break but no longer. Nice indoor swimming pool with a steam room, good when the weather is bad because there is nothing more to do when it is raining. A nice bar area with pleasant staff. The meals could have been better, one night the quality was good but the rest was not so hope they read the reviews they get and act on it. Toilets were kept very clean which was nice and the site on the whole was kept clean and tidy. One thing the site could do with is a shop and something for the kids to do. Like we said at the start, nice for a couple of days but no longer.

Couple of years since our last visit not a lot has changed, as previously mentioned the outdoor pool has been grassed over I expect as a result of safety regs. We thought that the bar meal we had was good value for money, not the greatest but couldnt fault the helpings and my two teenagers thought the burgers were excellent. One thing that hasnt changed was the brilliant staff, the faces were different but they couldnt have been more helpful or chatty and service was great. Always one we like for a weekend but wouldnt go for longer. Not a lot to do or see in the immediate area and no onsite shop or anything like that so a trip to Morrisons or Tescos in Dumfries awaits.

This was our third visit to this site. We left dissapointed this time. No outdoor pool, next to nothing to do for the kids. Thankfully the indoor pool kept them amused most of the time. Bar prices on site were very good but the food quality has went down this time. Poor quality and quantity to say the least. Not up to their usual standard but I hope they will improve as the season goes on.

Stayed for a couple of days with friends. The site was excellent. Showers were clean, pub friendly, pool great for the kids (not mine kids of friends that came with us). Staff were friendly and helpful. Pitches large overall a great stay. Would go back again.

Absolutely wonderful site. Has EHU to all pitches which are multi level. Some modernisation work being done to the site which will only enhance this beautiful area. Even though we were next to the children's play area it was peaceful at night. Small indoor pool which is adequate, lovely food, friendly staff, games room, no shop tho which felt would have been handy. Tennis and badminton court with free use of equipment. Mabie's farm park a good day out but also Dalscone (think it was called) children's play park was excellent, near to Dumfries. Tesco's 10 mins drive away in Castle Douglas. Not much in Castle Douglas itself. Beach past Kirkudbright near Brighouse Bay stunning. Would like to have explored this area further. All in all a lovely peaceful site and would definitely highly recommend to all.

We stayed at this park for 3 nights. Could not fault the site or the toilet facilities. We tried to order a takeaway meal at the bar one of the nights and according to the barman this was only available between 6pm and 6.15pm. Reception weren't quite sure when the takeaways were available and the barman also told us that the chef had not arrived at 5.55pm (a bit strange!) so we took our business elsewhere. A bit disappointing there was no small shop on site - the AA caravan book states there is a shop 600 yards away from the site but I would say it was double that.

Great site, lots of areas for kids to play. Nice indoor pool, good bar not over priced. Met friends there had a great weekend. Will be booking again. May get overcrowded in summer though as the pool etc are only small. Staff friendly and helpful. Showers/toilets clean and plenty of hot water but somewhat cramped for changing.

Visited for four nights in the tent (electric hookup) and could not fault the site. The pitch was on a raised embankment which was large and flat and fitted our eight man tunnel tent no problem. The car couldn't be parked next to the tent but was just below in a gravelled car park. There are tent pitches on slight slopes so you would need to book in advance to get a good pitch in peak season . Toilets and showers are very clean (cleaned every day even out of season) and plenty of hot water, no timers on the showers. Has a great little pool that the kids loved as well as a games room and outdoor play area. Plenty to keep them occupied, even when it rained. There is a lovely bar on site (drink not over priced) and the barman gave us a warm reception. The bar sells food and there is a dining room attached, unfortunately the cook was away but the barman had no problem rustling up some decent grub. It would be a loss to the site if he went as he had plenty of time for the kids and adults. In the village (less than 5 min walk) there is a shop that sells groceries and hotel which does great food. The park is situated just off the A75 which gives a great base for exploring Dumfries & Galloway. What more can I say it has everything you want. Will definitely be back again. Just hope it is as good in peak season.

We stayed at Park of Brandedleys for 12 nights including the BH weekend and had a fab time. David was very friendly and accommodating and very particular in looking after the site. We have a large tent so were pitched on the lower level alongside the caravans close to the toilet block. Our neighbours were quiet and friendly - the only downside was the noise from the A75 which is very close and doesn't let up! We paid £23 per night for EHU and our gazebo which we thought was quite alot but it did include free use of the facilities - pools, tennis and badminton courts so maybe that's not too bad. The facilities were good and the indoor pool and sauna very welcome on a wet day. The food in the so called restaurant though was poorly stocked so they had run out the only night we went to eat there at 6.30pm! Other people who did manage to eat there on other nights waited ages and said the choice was very limited - I suspect the chef problem isn't exactly solved! Other than that though the site was well maintained and when there were water problems in the showers the maintenance staff sorted things pretty quickly. The area is stunning and we had a wonderful time despite mixed weather (we thought we may blow home to England it was so windy one night!) We visited some great places - a scrummy chocolate shop and Sulwath brewery both in Castle Douglas, Sweetheart Abbey, a visit to feed the Galloway Deer (great value at £8 for the whole family),Kitty's Tearoom in New Galloway, the Kirkudbright Tattoo, Cream of Galloway (great walks within the grounds and free though you have to pay for the play area which is OK but we've seen better for the price) - best ice cream ever and wonderful organic beef, Gem Rock Musuem - a good family option if it's wet,and the highlight of our holiday - Barcloy Barn. On the coast in a glorious setting, the Bran has a maze, duck pond and play area which are all free. It's got a wonderful tea room and eclectic collection of portugese pottery for sale. It's also the best place for a walk (about an hour and a half) right up on the tops where you get the most stunning view. All in all a great holiday - our kids hardly fought at all either which is a bit of a miracle at 10, 9 and 7!!!
The only thing we would say is the lady who took us around the site before we left said that they were giving up all of the touring area we were in for more statics - I'd advise you to check this out first as the top camping field is alot more crowded. Funny how people think statics are the future...?!

May 2005 Lovely park, fully booked the bank holiday weekend we went but you wouldnt have known with the layout of the site, the bar staff were very friendly and helpful, the takeaway bar meals were excelent value. Unfortunately the chef was ill so we couldnt sample the bistro but the menu looked very tempting. On our list of go agains
