We have had a fantastic week at jedwater, we didn't want to leave and are planning our next visit already. Our 10 year old daughter absolutely loved the park especially the zip wire (which I had a few turns on myself). She loved paddling and fishing in the river running alongside the site. There is plenty to do off site too though we only managed to drag our daughter away from the site on a few occasions. Niel (the owner) was very helpful advising us on walks etc.
Our daughter was in her element in the shop-so many treats to choose from.
The shower/toilet blocks and sink areas were well maintained and clean.
The park and children's areas were again very well maintained and safe.
We cant wait to return.

My wife and I took our kids aged 12 and 7 for 3 nights (friday-monday) at the end of July.We had a excellent stay as the kids ran about most of the days playing on the zip wire and swings which gave my wife and I time to chill out and have a few drinks by the tent.Would defo recommend to families for a quiete trip.
Pro's of site;
Site owner Neil very helpful.
Well off any main roads.
Quiete site, not too busy.
Close to Jedburgh town which is well worth visit as its loaded with history(try the pheasant restaruant lovely food, a wee bit pricey but worth it).
Camping area is sheltered.
Sky TV in games room, good if you don't want to miss any footie while you are way:)
Nice long walk up jaccobs ladder (110 steps or so!)
Great zip slide and footie park for the kids.
Owner makes regular trips around the park to ensure all is ok.
Con's of site;
1st sign for park on A68 could be more visible as covered by greenery.
Booking in on arrival a bit confusing.
Games room could be doing with a little bit upgraded(very old TV).
Little stock in shop and shop could be open longer.
Toilet/shower block next to tent area a bit small but kept fairly clean.
Entry/exit road to camping area a bit to close to kids play park.
Think they had problems with drains as there was a wee bit of a smell in the air over the weekend in which I think the owner was trying to fix.

First time staying in Jedburgh and on the whole, pleased we chose this site. Pre-booked before we went (to make sure we got our hook up) and chose a pitch near the river. Torrential rain for the 3 nights we were there and the ground under our tent became really waterlogged. The river rose approx 2.5-3ft!
Toilet block very clean and free showers were excellent; powerful and hot. Toilets were plentiful with lots of loo roll in the ladies. The men however, ran out regularly. The shop was very basic so went to the co-op in Jedburgh - about 10 min drive away.
The staff were very friendly and polite.
Cost us £26/night for an 8 man tent with hook up, 2 adults, 2 teenagers under 16 and a dog. We thought, a bit on the pricey side.
The only negatives (apart from the weather.) were the dreaded midgies (ha ha) and loud bangs late into the night and from early morning, which we guessed was a crow scaring device from a farm nearby? Surrounding area lovely - would recommend the deer park. Loads of animals to feed and could also take the dog in!

The kids thought that this site was the best so far. The play facilities were excellent with a large football area and playpark, as well as a games room. The zip wire was 'awesome' apparently! The only problem they had was with some of the arcade games which didn't work properly or at all.
The adults enjoyed the site as well - a nice spot by the river. The non-electric pitches, however were considerably narrower than the rest which presented problems when pitching our tent - we just managed it and no more.
Another problem we had was noisy neighbours - 3 large tents pitched next to us who partied until 2 o'clock in the morning both nights. There was no sign of the owner in the evenings and he obviously wasn't strict about 'quiet times' although there were signs to suggest that everyone should quieten down by 10.30pm. To top it off we woke up at six every morning to the noise of gunshots (presumeably hunters nearby).
The toilet block was always clean. There were only two showers in the ladies, but we never had to queue.
There was plenty to do in the area. We had a good, free day at Harestanes Country Park and a not-so-free day at Floors Castle.
All in all a good site but next time we might book electric pitches to get a wider pitch and also bring ear plugs in case of noise!

This is a fantastic little site. Second visit as kids eager to return since 07. Large tent with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Neil is very welcoming and accommodating. Toilet and shower blocks are cleaned daily with running hot water and showers. Small shop only open twice a day for an hour each time is a bit of a hassle. Only sells the bear essentials. Games room could do with a bit of updating but gives the kids somewhere to go if raining, large grass area for playing in and a flying fox. Jed Water river runs round the site and is excellent for playing in for kids of all ages and is reasonably shallow although this year we did manage to get round it in our dinghy. There are also a lot of small brown trout which can be caught in a net. Providing you have a little imagination this is a very entertaining site and is quite quiet. A car however is essential as its a good walk to jedburgh. Jedburgh has the usual small village style shops with the main store being a Co-op. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants There are also plenty of attractions within 30 mins drive. Neil has spent a good deal of time and money on upgrading the camping area and this is well grassed with electric hook up if needed.

This was an excellent location and site, well looked after, toilets and showers excellent. Facilities for children excellent from what we could see, didn't take a lot of notice as we don't have children.
Staff very helpfull nothing was a bother, other campers very friendly. You would need a Taxi to go into Jedburgh, taxi will pick up from reception. Pubs very friendly and welcoming.

This was our first time camping and I was pleasantly surprised at this site, showers are hot, toilets clean but the best thing of all was the play area for the kids. The zipwire is great (my kids are 7, 9 & 11 and they played on it all weekend)
Everyone was very helpful and the weather was scorching. The only bad thing was inconsiderate campers singing till 1 am. (oh, and the midges). Will definitely go back again.

Just returned from Jedwater and what a great weekend we had. Two families 3 children aged 12, 9 and 3. Very relaxed and friendly. Good fly fishing at Hass Loch, is about 4 miles south of the camp site just off the a68. Toilets and showers were clean. Only problem was with the mozzies
Went into Jedburgh Saturday afternoon and it was very quiet. Got what we needed from the local coop for our barbeque on Saturday night.

This is a lovely campsite. We stayed 2 nights in a tent. The owners are really nice and friendly. The camping area is located in a very sheltered spot and has the river passing your tent. There are lots of facilities on the site considering it is a small friendly campsite. My 3 boys loved fishing and paddling in the river and the park is fab. Boys played a lot on the football pitch which has goals and there is a games room which has a pool table and some arcade games and tv if it is raining. There is a shop and the toilets and showers were clean. There are a few nice walks from the campsite but Jedburgh is only 3 miles away which has an Information Centre with info on things to do in the area. Jedburgh has a co-op and a chippy. I would definitely recommend this campsite.

Just back from a lovely couple of days camping at Jedwater. This was our second visit so we were left by the very helpful/friendly owners to find our own tent pitch with electric hookup. Loads of space and my 3 children (2, 4 & 6) love the shallow river and kids play area. The on site shop is open twice per day and sells beer, sweets, rolls/milk/papers etc.
Large clean showers, clean toilets and very well kept site. £18 per night with electric (family of 5 with large tent). Hope to be back soon.
