This site was recommended to us by a friend who tried out her caravan there (the night before we stayed here)
We had bought a new tent and wanted to try it out before we went away in it properly so we just needed somewhere for 1 night, the owner was friendly on the phone and more than helpful.
We didn't arrive until 7pm, the owner was friendly and as the site was quiet that night he just said we could pitch pretty much where we liked - which was nice not having to pitch next to anyone seeing as it was our first time putting up a new tent
The site itself is lovely - we didn't use the facilities as we have a camping toilet so cant comment on showers / toilets.
We were right next to a pond which was nice in the morning as we woke up to 21 ducks (yes me and my little girl counted them) outside the tent, my daughter thought this was wonderful (until she tried to feed them and 4 of them stormed the tent)! There was also a field full of cows next to us which my daughter appreciated
The only negative I have is that the site is next to a train line and a motorway (although the trains didn't bother us) but the road noise was a bit of a pain at night - it didn't disturb my daughters sleep which I was thankful for
Aside from the noise the site itself is lovely and we had no complaints

We stayed here for two nights in a tent in July.
I have to say we were very disappointed. If you are in a static caravan, this would be a lovely site. For tents, it is not.
We had pitch number 5 which was in the corner - we had to pitch over manhole and drain covers. Over the fence behind us seemed to be where they dealt with the site's sewerage, so we constantly got smells from that wafting over - nice.
The pylons are dreadful. Our view was of a massive pylon in front of us, and the noise was horrendous. Granted, it was drizzling or raining a lot of the time but the buzzing was VERY loud, and constant. From in the tent, it sounded like it was raining all the time.
Aside from the noise of the pylons, we also had constant and loud noise from the nearby motorway and the nearby trainline. Admittedly, I am a fairly light sleeper, but all these noises kept me awake a lot, and also my two children (who normally sleep through no problem when camping). Taking earplugs is essential!
The shower and toilet block were very clean and modern, but at completely the opposite end of the site to the tents and tourers, they were by reception and the static caravans. I just can't understand why there isn't a block near the tent field because there is plenty of room for one. It was a trek every time either us or the kids needed the toilet.
However, the good points - the kids loved the playground and made lots of new friends. The bar was nice (we didn't eat there so can't comment on that) and the kids liked paddling in the river which was shallow enough to do that. And we followed the public footpath across the bridge into the village where there was another lovely playground for the kids.
The site has a lot going for it, but the noise means we won't be going back. If your idea of camping is lovely views and peace and quiet and waking up the sound of birds in the morning, then don't choose this site.

A beautiful site very well kept. We pitched next to the pond which was lovely. Good walk down by the river with dogs and stopped for a pint outside the on site pub lovely.
Toilets pristine best I've seen. Bit far fro me in the night take a bucket. There was a lovely holiday atmosphere and statics kept to themselves.
Garstan good market and shops. Chippy handy just up road. Just too expensive for us to go again at mo.

Stayed at Claylands a few times now. Its ideally located for us just 40 miles away and is a nice place for a quick bolt hole to escape from the world for a weekend.
Pitches are a good size and there are some serviced pitches. One section I don't like puts you right below the pylons and electricity cables. You can hear these buzzing all the time and when it rains they hiss loudly. After a few hours you ignore it, but it is worth mentioning.
Decent shop on site and situated centrally with easy links to Preston, Lancaster and Blackpool. Nice quiet site for us. Free on site coarse fishing - several ponds.

Nice site, showers were clean although a bit of a walk from the tents and tourers, another block closer to the tent field wouldn't go amiss.Staff are friendly and helpful. I lost my wallet at the pub and it was handed in and delivered to our pitch, nothing was missing. It is great sitting outside at the pub watching the children play in the river at the bottom of the hill.
Children park is good our teenage daughter and her friend enjoyed it.
On the down side the Pylons do spoil the site and were quite noisy because of the rain. There is also a Train line within approx a mile so you do hear the trains and also the M6 is just the other side of the train line. You can here the traffic noise at night esp if you are a light sleeper.
Full serviced pitch was £30 per night, which was ok but with the pylons, road noise etc I have stayed on more picturesque sites for the same money.

Visited claylands caravan park for 1 night only but it was well worth it the facilities are immaculate ie shower block and the up keeping of the park.
The pub was cozy, the people friendly and the food lovely. And as for the pylons I only realized them on my way back from the pub and we were near them which didn't bother us in the slightest.
We hope to return asap

Very good facilities on this park, the showers and toilets are the best I have seen, although a bit of a walk from the camping area. Pub very good with good food. My husband says the fishing is good, Carp, Tench, Crucian Carp, Roach. Kids play area great. Very friendly family run site, the static owners can be a bit clicky though. Will use this site again, no probs.

We recently visited this site as we have family who are residents on there. It's a lovely site with fairly flat pitches, it was a little boggy due to the weather but not too bad. There are pitches available with hook up and some without. They are fairly small, but we got our Hartford xl on no problem.
We only used the clubhouse once, they served a perfect pint and the garden at the back has an amazing view over the river and nearby fields.
The park is great for the kids and the nearby village provides a great walk (and the village shop sells the best ice cream!).
The only downfall to the site is the distance from the tent area to the shower block and amenities, but that's the only one.
Make sure you have a tenner handy when you get there as you have to pay that as a deposit for the barrier key.

I found the camp to be very clean and tidy. Pitches were very good with electric and water supplied to each one, there is also a grid for grey waste water and only a short walk to the waste disposal unit. The shower block was immaculately clean and warm, it even had piped music to make it more homely. The clubhouse was really nice with very helpful and polite staff, the new conservatory was excellent with lovely views, it was the perfect place for a meal and a drink in the peace and quiet of the camp and country surroundings. Garstang is only a few minutes drive away and it is a busy bustling village with lots of shops and pubs. All in all we had a few restful days there and we are certainly going back again

Arrived at this site around 3.30 pm on Friday afternoon - before which received a telephone call to ask if we were actually coming because the site had received enquiries re: availability and if we were not could we tell them now! Great start.
Booked in without a problem and paid for a barrier pass - £10 deposit in cash only which was tiresome so my sister and I shared one pass between two vans.
To get down to the touring field had to pass the static caravans which was fine if they all hadn't had their cars parked on the road ways which meant a outfit like mine difficult to manoeuvre! But that is my fault for towing a big van! Get to the pitch to find that I was sited directly underneath the pylon lines; which in itself did not bother me until I touched my van to find it conducting electricity and gave me a bolt! I rang the office - as it was a fair distance from the touring field and the lady told me to move to another pitch 'as this does happen with some caravans on that pitch depending on what the chassis is made of'! So be warned - my van gave me a couple of real belts of electric shocks whilst I was then trying to manoeuvring it to another pitch.
Halloween was on Friday night and all the children got into the spirit and knocked on caravans and 'trick or treated' which was lovely.
The site is clean and well maintained and the children really enjoyed the Halloween Party laid on on the Saturday night - best dressed pumpkin competition, free buffet, best fancy dress and a spooky movie and the conservatory was dressed in lots of Halloween decorations which was really cool and the children loved it.
There is a lovely river just to the bottom of the site which was great for skimming stones and my boys loved that along with encouraging our Jack Russell into the water. Wellies were a must even on site as the grass was very wet and mushy - thank goodness I have laminate in the van.
All in all a good site - although should I go again I will defo not be asking for pitches 35 or 36!
