This site is a working farm set in idyllic surroundings. The owners, Elaine and Keith have just started with campers so facilities are at this early stage limited. Having said that, our visit to this site has proved to be one of the best breaks we have had to date! Upon arrival at the farm, Elaine greeted us with coffee and buttered scones, where else would you get a welcome like that! We were then shown to a large field to the front of the house. The field (that we had to ourselves), had a gentle slope, we soon had our van levelled up. A hook up was arranged from the house. The views however, were out of this world, I can only describe them as 'stunning'. My 13 year old son and his friend were kept busy assisting Elaine with lamb feeding, egg collecting etc. They thought this was brilliant, as well as lots of space to run around in. The village of Reeth is nearby with shops, pub etc. There is also an abundance of walks nearby. The 'Coast to coast' runs down by the farm. Richmond, Leyburn and Barnard castle are all within an easy drive. What makes this place are not only the lovely surroundings but the warmth and hospitality shown by its owners - Keith & Elaine, and their young family. They could not do enough for us. Remember though this is a working farm with all that you would expect - early morning cockerel's, cows and the like. If you want clubhouses, amusement arcades, noise etc then this probably wouldn't do. If you want quiet relaxing tranquillity in beautiful surroundings - give it a go. We will be planning many return visits

Found this site completely by chance because we couldn't find the one we planned on going to! Its basically a farm with two very big fields with amazing views over the plateau above swaledale. We were the only people in the field which was quite a feat considering all other sites we rang were full that weekend. The amenities are basic- one toilet and no showers but the toilet is clean and there is hot water. They plan on getting some showers soon. There is a tea shop (Elaine's Teas) on site selling home made cakes including prize winning apple pie and shortbread! Basically a site for people who want a very quiet place to sit and relax and enjoy the view while eating cake and forgetting about the hustle and bustle in nearby Reeth.
