First time here and the last. Site is probably 95% seasonal so only a few pitches available.
Our pitch was the worse we have had. Site needs serious drainage work carrying out. Did not put our awning up it was that wet.
The site is near the top of a hill so no protection in the wind. Showers took ages to get to a bearable temperature.
Poorly lit at night so take a torch.
Electric was on a card and because we did not know at what sort of rate it was used we ended up wasting over £3 of a £5 card. As soon as you go the meter is zeroed.
It would be nice to pass the credit onto the next person on the pitch, after all it is paid for.
I expected a bit more after reading previous reviews.

Well yet again a warm welcome from Steve and co couldn't have been any more helpful, facility's cleaned everyday and also heated and if you ask nothing is too much trouble to helping you get the van into the space or anything you need. The shop sells basics if you need it and the staff are all really friendly. It's ideally situated as there is a hotel on site were you can use the bar and also order breakfast which is well worth the money. Over the road is a pub in the village which also serves meals and if you don't want to use the car a regular bus service to Whitby Robin Hood's bay and Scarborough and also you can walk into Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay by the cinder path so won't be long before we are back

We stayed here in our motorhome with some friends who had caravans and all agreed its not a bad site, clean, tidy and well laid out. Just off the main road into Whitby although you wouldn't know it as it is so quiet. Standings aren't perfectly level but not far off and soon corrected with our levellers. You buy credit for the hook ups which was fine with us.
Perfect location just off the Cinder Track in to Whitby, 3 and 1/2 miles away, just under an hours gentle walk through some fantastic woodlands and over Whitby Viaduct or you could easily cycle it in 20-25 minutes. Takes you right into the centre of Whitby. Beware it is a gradual up hill path so takes a bit more effort coming back. We will definitely be back with the Grandkids as it is a lovely safe ride for them.
The Hare and Hound across the road does fantastic food but gets booked up very quickly, luckily we managed to squeeze in and had a bar meal, fantastic food, highly recommended.
Show and toilet block very clean but kept getting a whiff of smelly water. One of our friends did report that the Ladys showers were not draining well so it might be related.

Camping trip with my two boys over the bank holiday weekend, ticks all the boxes for me, showers and toilet facilities nice and clean, chap on site who shows you around very friendly and helpful, only a short bus ride from whitby, just catch the bus in Hawsker village, next to the pub, Whitby was packed over the bank holiday so i`m glad I decided not to try and park in Whitby itself as its almost impossible to find a space, York house hotel did some basic pub grub if your stuck, and a descent size Sainsburys just down the road.

The site makes a good base for visiting the coast and the moors.
Excellent walks in the area and lovely villages worth visiting.
Facilities are dated and the site a little untidy.
Fees in low season are very good but EHU runs on a token meter.
Friendly site wardens.

Stayed in 2015. Not a huge caravan park. We stayed in a tent the top part nice view across to whitby cliffs- bit blistery up there but had access to portaloos which where always clean.
The top bit is huge and as there were only few tents the kids had a huge park to themselves. The bottom field is more sheltered and is was the preferred field by other campers but looked a lot more cramped. We were given a choice and also to if the top didn't work out for us the we could move to the sheltered fields.
The toilets and shower were below us along with a children's play area. Toilet facilities were clean.
Kids aged from 5+ loved the site and we felt it safe enough for them to wander around by themselves. The entry is through a barrier so only those staying can get through. There was only one guy looking after the place and he was very helpful. Would go back.
Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough are close by. There is also a Sainsburys with Petrol few minutes drive away.

First time on this site after 6 years of caravaning must say the staff are the most friendly and helpful you could wish for. After my grandson kai pulled a boiling hot cup of tea over his self all the staff and residents on site couldn't do enough even leading my daughter to the local hospital. Can not thank them all enough. Kai seems to be doing well now few more hospital visits. Now the site very well kept great for caravans or camping great location for many tourist destinations will be back.

Spent two nights here with my husband and our two kids in our own caravan. Paid £48 for two nights, including £8 charge for our awning. They charge extra for electric once you arrive, which seemed odd to us when we booked an electric pitch. A £2 card was enough for us for the weekend. Need to be off pitch by 12pm on your last day.
The site is in a lovely spot and the grounds are well kept. Quiet and peaceful site. The toilet block was kept adequately clean. The playground is not ideal for younger kids but our eldest did enjoy it.
The bar and the games room is very dated, we did not spend much time here at all. The pub off site, the Hare and Hounds, is just a short walk and worth a visit. I would advise you book a table if you wish to eat as it was very busy and fully booked on the Saturday evening when we popped in.
Our favourite thing about this place was its close proximity to the cycle path as we do love a bike ride and the cycle path was traffic free which meant our 6 year old could ride alone rather than in the bike trailer. Mostly flat trail so perfect for his little legs, and the ride along to Robin Hoods Bay was lovely.
The place is a good base for Whitby and the surrounding area. We probably won't rush back here as there isn't a great deal on site for our young kids, nor is there much around for them by foot, but it would maybe suit older families or couples looking for a quiet site which is a short drive for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay etc.

This campsite is very very family friendly, welcoming. Owner is very helpful and approachable. All the staff are helpful. No noise allowed after 11pm which is great as the owner is doing his rounds just before then to check all is good. Toilets kept clean and warm, the grounds are very well kept. Stayed here with my wife and teenage children and we all loved it. Will be taking our youngest children back here very soon. I have had some bad experiences with inconsiderate noise on campsites but not on this one 😀

Very disappointed, we booked after taking the best reviews we read, upon arrival, site was unkempt, grass long not kept cut especially near units, shower unit was tired and needed a thorough clean, not just a once over, hair dryer not in shower block but in laundry, wheelie bins overflowing and just got fuller day by day.
We paid £ 12. 00 per night then a premium of £ 20. 00 for the Friday night, plus £ 2. 00 per night for the dog, dog field ok, but no dog 'poop' disposal bins to be seen. Bar appeared closed and uninviting.
Site is a great location but we would not return as £14. 00 per night weekdays + £ 22. 00 per night - Friday was expensive for poor tired facilities.
