We have used this site for the past six years for outward and inward journeys. We like it mainly, because of the convenient location. It's quiet and peaceful and set within a rural location which we like.
The site itself offers basic facilities. The toilet/shower block while clean, appears dark and dingy - lighting could be improved and the hot water isn't always hot ! The owners are always pleasant and there is a restaurant/bar for those who prefer not to cook, we used it once but weren't that impressed.
The pitches are private with hedges between and although there is a lot of movement with units coming and going in the early/late hours, we have never been bothered by noise.
On the whole this is a good site for a stopover en-route to the ferry/tunnel terminals.

We have used this site for a number of years now as an overnight stop as it is convenient for channel port and autoroute. Last year we had a problem with a burst tyre and discovered that it is almost impossible to buy replacement in France. The proprietors were really helpful in trying to source tyres for us by telephoning around but to no avail. Cannot fault them for their help. Site has improved under their ownership. Will certainly call in again next year.

We have used this site now for the last 3 years,it is clean well presented and very well situated.
The owners Dominic and Carin are very approachable and will help wherever they can.
Site is used by the Brits as a stop over.
We have decided to do 10 days there this time, it is handy for touring around France, Belgium and even into Germany.
The local town is ideally situated and the Sunday market outside the site is amazing.
The fishing in Ardres is good and if you want to eat at the side of the lake in the sun it is ideally situated.

First of all remembering this is our opinion the not so good bits:
Most of the pitches are small for a big twin axle. We struggled to get our Swift Charisma 650 onto the pitch and had to end up sideways on with awning facing inwards. Got some photos if anyone interested get in touch.
The facilities at the time of our 10 day visit were somewhat of a struggle at times. Firstly the hot water in the showers was a bone of contention. Three times we ended up with cold showers. When we asked the question we was met with some shrug of the shoulders and asked to shower earlier than 2100. Other times they worked ok.
We have a disabled son who we couldn't shower in the token operated disabled shower due to the water being that hot it would have burnt him. This is in stark contrast to the other facilities and is from one extreme to the other. This was at the time of our visit.
There is a lot of one nighters on the site and there is so coming and going of people which at 0530 in the morning can be a bit wakening !
EHU can be a little disruptive in times of bad weather
So apart from this good bits
There is a bar and restaurant on site, it appeared that there was more available than is advertised on the website menu. We didnt try anything but it looked ok from what we have seen.
The pitches although small for a big caravan are well sheltered and are nicely hedged off.
The pitches EHU are mostly 10amp.
There is a kids play area.
The site is not far from the motorway and is ideally placed for both the ferries and tunnel. It is not far into Calais from there.
There is washing up facilities within the main block and a washing machine (token from reception)
There is a small room with pool, machines and small library of reading material.
The site is clean and tidy and quite pretty with flowers and arrangements.
This is a good site value for money.
Overall this wasn't too bad a site to be in. We wouldn't go back for a week with our sons difficulties but we certainly would use this site for a stop over on the way back from the south or middle of France prior to catching the ferry of train. It is a good clean site certainly value for money but mainly for stopovers.

Used this site as a stop over returning from the South, very clean and tidy site shower and toilet block looked new and was immaculate.
English speaking, cost €29 for 4 of us per night not cheap but better than staying in Port or on Autoroute will be using again.

This was my fourth visit to this site! On each occasion it was used before returning to England as a stop over. However this time we spent 5 days here as we had to get the dog to the vet (English speaking)about 5 mins drive away in Ardres, and also meet up with our Belgian friends for a few meals and drinks, and some sight seeing.
The site is for touring vans and motorhomes. The sanitaires are very good and clean, there is a restaurant on site and English is spoken, which is just as well because at least half the customers were from GB! There is a childrens playground but no dog walk on site. The pitches are all hedgemarked and reasonably level. It is a quiet site and we were not disturbed at all after dark.
The town of Ardres is about a 5 min drive away and there are plenty of shops and the usual supermarkets on the outskirts of the town. It is about 20-25 mins drive from the port of Calais, and local beaches, and about the same time to Cite Europe.
Within 5 mins drive from the site there is a lake for fishing/boating.
Slighty further and about 30 mins drive is the interesting town of St Omer, and La Cupole, where the V1 and V2 rockets were made.
I would recommend this site as an overnight stop or for visiting the area
